Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor has said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a national asset and its betterment is the responsibility of all the stakeholders. The Vice Chancellor expressed these views while talking to a delegation of journalists in his office today. The delegation was led by senior journalist, former president Press Club Bahawalpur Tauseef Ahmad Bhatti. The Vice-Chancellor said that in the last three years, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has made extraordinary progress in every field. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has increased the opportunities of higher education not only for the local but also for the youth all over Pakistan which is the reason 57 thousand students are studying in more than 300 disciplines. In view of the increasing number of students, the number of teachers has also been increased and their number has increased from 450 to 1250. The Vice-Chancellor said that a unique training program for teachers is ongoing in the history of universities in which more than 2000 teachers are participating. New campuses have been set up at Ahmad Pur East and Liaquat Pur and encouraging results have been obtained by the government for their construction. He said that there has been an extraordinary increase in development projects in the university and development projects worth 12 billion rupees are underway. For development and improvement of the university infrastructure, the cooperation of the government as well as the civil society and the media is also very important so that these projects are implemented in time. The completion of these development projects will increase the quality of teaching activities and the ranking of the university will also reach the global level. On this occasion, Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti, former president of Press Club, Junaid Nazir, former president of Press Club and senior journalists, Mian Aziz, Irfan Joya, Imran Shams, Sikandar Azam, Yasin Ansari, Muhammad Asim and Atif Abbasi also expressed their views and said that journalists community is playing an active role in the development of the university and the cooperation from the university is a welcome sign in this regard. Shahzad Ahmed Khalid Director Press Media and Publications, Assistant Professor Jam Sajjad Hussain and Senior Staff Officer Waseem Siddiqui were also present in the meeting.

وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور قومی آثاثہ ہے۔ یونیورسٹی کی ترقی، بحالی اور بہتری ہم سب کی ذمہ داری ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار آج اپنے دفتر میں صحافیوں کے ایک وفد سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ وفد کی قیادت سینئر صحافی، سابق صدر پریس کلب بہاول پور توصیف احمد بھٹی کر رہے تھے۔ وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ گزشتہ تین برسوں میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے ہر شعبے میں غیر معمولی ترقی کی۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے نہ صرف مقامی بلکہ پاکستان بھر کے نوجوانوں کے لیے اعلیٰ تعلیم کے مواقعوں میں اضافہ کیا ہے یہی وجہ ہے کہ 300 سے زائد مضامین میں 57 ہزار طلباء وطالبات زیر تعلیم ہیں۔ طلباء وطالبات کی بڑھتی ہوئی تعداد کے پیش نظر اساتذہ کی تعداد میں بھی اضافہ کیا گیا اور 450 سے بڑھ کر ان کی تعداد 1250 ہو گئی ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ جامعات کی تاریخ میں اساتذہ کے لیے اپنی نوعیت کا منفرد تدریسی پروگرام جاری ہے جس میں 2000 سے زائد اساتذہ شریک ہیں۔ احمد پورشرقیہ اور لیاقت پور میں نئے کیمپسز قائم کیے گئے ہیں اور ان کی تعمیر کے لیے حکومت کی طرف سے حوصلہ افزاء نتائج حاصل ہوئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ یونیورسٹی میں ترقیاتی منصوبوں میں بھی غیر معمولی اضافہ ہو ا اور 12ارب روپے کے ترقیاتی منصوبے جاری ہیں۔ یونیورسٹی انفرانسڑکچر میں توسیع اور بہتری کے لیے حکومت کے ساتھ ساتھ سول سوسائٹی اور میڈیا کا تعاون بھی بہت ضروری ہے تاکہ ان منصوبوں کی بروقت تکمیل سے تدریسی سرگرمیوں کے معیار میں اضافہ ہو اور یونیورسٹی کی رینکنگ بھی عالمی سطح تک پہنچے۔ اس موقع پر توصیف احمد بھٹی سابق صدر پریس کلب، جنید نذیر سابق صدر پریس کلب اور سینئر صحافیوں، میاں عزیز، عرفان جوئیہ، عمران شمس، سکندر اعظم، یسیٰن انصاری، محمد عاصم اور عاطف عباسی نے بھی اظہار خیال کیا اور کہا کہ صحافی کمیونٹی یونیورسٹی کی بحالی اور ترقی میں بھرپور کردار ادا کررہی ہے اور اس سلسلے میں یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے بھی تعاون خوش آئند ہے۔ ملاقات میں شہزاد احمد خالد ڈائریکٹر پریس میڈیا اینڈ پبلیکیشنز، اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر جام سجاد حسین اور سینئر سٹاف آفیسر وسیم صدیقی بھی موجود تھے۔
