A seminar was organized by Department of Political Science, IUB in connection with the Independence Day celebrations

Bahawalpur (PR): On direction of Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, faculty and students are conducting Independence Day celebrations in all the campuses. In this regard, a seminar was organized in connection with the Independence Day celebrations organized by the Department of Political Science, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Dean, Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences. On this occasion Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum said that August 14 reminds us of the determination and continuous struggle of the Muslims of Pak-India. On that day, the Muslims of India succeeded in obtaining a separate territory for themselves under the enthusiastic leadership of the great leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah. A new Islamic state came into being in the form of Pakistan. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Musavir Hussain Bukhari, Chairman the Department of Political Sciences, said that the Muslims of the subcontinent did not want to become the slaves of the Hindu majority after being freed from the slavery of the British. For this reason, Allama Iqbal in 1930 in the Allahabad meeting expressed the idea that the Muslims of the subcontinent would have an independent state in which they would be able to live according to the golden principles of Islam. The British wanted to give freedom to the subcontinent but they did not want to give a separate state to the Muslims, but the Muslims of the subcontinent got Pakistan with their blood and the blood of martyrs by making eternal sacrifices. They can make their own decisions for their religious cultural identity and the betterment of their future. The participants said that we will never forget the sacrifices and struggles of our elders and will continue to make Pakistan a great country in the last 75 years. We should work together as Pakistanis for the future. Dr. Samia Khalid Chairperson Department of History, Prof. Dr. Rozeena Anjum Naqvi Chairperson Department of Persian also address in the seminar. Dr. Saeed Ahmed, Shahnahra Mehmood Chief Public Relations Officer, Fatima Mazahir Deputy Registrar Public Affairs, faculty, officers and students participated in the event.

بہاول پور (پ ر) : پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی ہدایت پر جامعہ اسلامیہ میں یوم آزادی کی تقریبات جاری ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں شعبہ پولیٹیکل سائنس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے زیر اہتمام جشن آزادی کی تقریبات کے سلسلے میں ایک سیمینار منعقد کیا گیا۔ سیمینار کی صدارت پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شازیہ انجم ڈین فیکلٹی آف کیمیکل اینڈ بائیولوجیکل سائنسز نے کیا۔ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے  پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شازیہ انجم کاکہنا تھا کہ 14 اگست کا دن ہمیں برصغیر پاک وہند کے مسلمانوں کے عزم صمیم اور جہدِ مسلسل کی یاد دلاتا ہے۔ اس دن مسلمانانِ ہند قائداعظم محمد علی جناح کی ولولہ انگیز قیادت میں اپنے لیے ایک الگ خطہ ارضی کے حصول میں کامیاب ہوئے۔ بے مثال قیادت اور ایمان، اتحاد ویقین محکم کے اُصولوں پر عمل پیرا ہو کر ہمارے آباؤ اجداد نے فقط سات برس کے عرصے میں دنیا کے نقشے کو بدل کر رکھ دیا۔ پاکستان کی صورت میں ایک نئی اسلامی مملکت معرضِ وجود میں آئی۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مصور حسین بخاری چیئرمین شعبہ پولیٹیکل سائنسز نے کہا کہ برصغیرکے مسلمان انگریزوں کی غلامی سے نجات کرنے کے بعد ہندو اکثریت کے غلام نہیں بننا چاہتے تھے اسی وجہ سے علامہ اقبال نے 1930 میں الہ آباد کے جلسے میں میں اس خیال کا اظہار کیا تھا کہ برصغیر کے مسلمانوں کی آزاد الگ ریاست ہو گی جس میں وہ اسلام کے سنہری اصولوں کے مطابق زندگی گزار سکیں گے۔ انگریز برصغیر کو آزاد ی تو دینا چاہتے تھے لیکن مسلمانوں کو علیحدہ مملکت نہیں دینا چاہتے تھے لیکن برصغیر کے مسلمانوں نے لازوال قربانیاں دے کر خون سے، شہیدوں کے لہو سے پاکستان کو حاصل کیا پاکستان کے قیام کا مقصد یہ تھا کہ برصغیر کے مسلمان اپنے علیحدہ مذہبی ثقافتی تشخص اور اپنی مستقبل کے بہتری کے لئے اپنے فیصلے خود کر سکیں۔ شرکاء کا کہنا تھا کہ ہم اپنے بزرگوں کی قربانیوں کو ان کی جدوجہد کو ہرگز نہ بھولیں گے اور اس مقصد کے حصول کے لیے پاکستان کو ایک عظیم مملکت بنا کر رہیں گے پچھلے 75 سالوں میں پاکستان نے بے تحاشا کامیابیاں حاصل کی ہیں۔ ہمیں ایک روشن مستقبل کے لئے مل جل کر پاکستانیوں کی حیثیت سے کام کرنا چاہیے۔ ڈاکٹر سمیعہ خالد چیئرپرسن شعبہ تاریخ، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روزینہ انجم نقوی چیئرپرسن شعبہ فارسی نے بھی خطاب کیا۔ تقریب میں ڈاکٹر سعید احمد، شہنہرہ محمود چیف پبلک ریلیشنز آفیسر، فاطمہ مظاہر ڈپٹی رجسٹرار پبلک افیئرز، فیکلٹی، افسران اور طلباء وطالبات نے شرکت کی۔
