A team of US Consulate Lahore comprising of public diplomacy team visited the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The purpose of the visit was to promote linkages and partnership in educational affairs between the two institutions. The visiting team, led by Head of Public Diplomacy Office Karl Rogers, discussed issues of cooperation and mutual interest related to scholarship and exchange programs between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and related institutions of higher education in the United States. The Office of Public Diplomacy will also create programs to support and fund Pakistani entrepreneurs through venture funds in the US and Pakistan. The delegation met Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences Prof. Dr. Jawad Iqbal and his team as well as alumni of the Fulbright program. Tahira Akhtar Hubert Humphrey Fellow was the focal person on this occasion. Mr. Rogers and Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar discussed the various ways in which the university is providing opportunities for its students in entrepreneurship and higher education programs as well as the collaboration between the two institutions and the youth of Bahawalpur in their Future paths were also discussed to help them achieve their education and career goals. Additionally, Mr. Rogers met with a group of students to discuss their ideas, problems, opportunities and shared their vision of possible future collaborations. The session was organized by the Executive Training Center the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Mr. Rogers also inaugurated a Display Center which has been set up in the Faculty of Management Sciences to develop and implement business ideas of business students.

یو ایس کونسلیٹ لاہور کی پبلک ڈپلومیسی کی ایک ٹیم نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کا دورہ کیا۔ دورے کا مقصد دونوں اداروں کے درمیان تعلیمی امور میں روابط اور شراکت داری کو فروغ دینا تھا۔ پبلک ڈپلومیسی آفس کے سربراہ کارل راجرز کی قیادت میں دورہ کرنے والی ٹیم نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور امریکہ میں اعلیٰ تعلیم کے متعلقہ اداروں کے درمیان سکالر شپ اور تبادلہ پروگراموں سے متعلق تعاون اور باہمی دلچسپی کے امور پر تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ پبلک ڈپلومیسی کا دفتر امریکہ اور پاکستان میں وینچر فنڈز کے ذریعے پاکستانی کاروباری افراد کی مدد اور فنڈز فراہم کرنے کے لیے پروگرام بھی بنائے گا۔ وفد نے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر، ڈین فیکلٹی آف مینجمنٹ سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر جواد اقبال اور ان کی ٹیم کے ساتھ ساتھ فلبرائٹ پروگرام کے سابق طلباء کے ایک گروپ سے ملاقات کی۔ اس موقع پر طاہرہ اختر ہیوبرٹ ہمفری فیلو نے فوکل پرسن کے فرائض سرانجام دیے۔ مسٹر راجرز اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے مختلف طریقوں پر تبادلہ خیال کیا جن کے ذریعے یونیورسٹی اپنے طلباء کے لیے انٹرپرینیورشپ اور اعلیٰ تعلیم کے پروگراموں کے لیے مواقع فراہم کررہی ہے اور ساتھ ہی ساتھ دونوں اداروں کے باہمی تعاون اور بہاولپور کے نوجوانوں کو ان کی تعلیم اور کیریئر کے اہداف کے حصول میں مدد کرنے کے لیے مستقبل کے راستوں پر بھی تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ مزید برآں مسٹر راجرز نے اپنے خیالات، مسائل اور مواقع پر تبادلہ خیال کرنے کے لیے طلباء کے ایک گروپ سے بھی ملاقات کی اور ان کے ساتھ مستقبل کے ممکنہ تعاون کے بارے میں اپنے وژن کا اشتراک کیا۔ اس سیشن کا اہتمام اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی کے ایگزیکٹو ٹریننگ سنٹر نے کیا تھا۔ مسٹر راجرز نے ایک  ڈسپلے سینٹر کا بھی افتتاح کیا جو فیکلٹی آف مینجمنٹ سائنسز میں کاروباری طلباء وطالبات کے بزنس آئیڈیاز کو نکھارنے اور عملی جامہ پہنانے کیلئے قائم کیا گیا ہے۔
