Various activities are going on in connection with the anti-dengue campaign at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, under the direction of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice-Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Medical and Health Care, Estate Care, Hall Council, Farm Management and through Faculty of Agriculture & Environment. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Muhammad Usman Cheema has said that these activities have started in connection with the anti-dengue campaign in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. He said that the initial symptoms of dengue fever are severe fever and body pain due to which there is no appetite, pain starts behind the eyes which spreads to other side of the head. Such spots appear on the body which appear in measles. There is difficulty in breathing and the patient goes into a state of shock due to severe abdominal pain in addition to pallor. The patient should be given plenty of juices, soups and milk along with a normal diet and should be given complete rest. Regarding preventive measures in this regard, houses, offices and shops should be cleaned and sprayed with mosquito repellents two to three times a week. Dengue mosquito breeds in clean water, so containers for collecting clean water such as pitchers, drums, tanks, etc. should be properly covered. Current season is of using room coolers, so whenever they are not in use water should be removed from them. Coils, mats, lotions and mosquito nets should also be used to prevent mosquitoes. Do not allow water to collect in roofs, plant beds, pots, old pots and tires inside the houses. Meanwhile, cleaning and spraying arrangements are being made in all teaching and administrative departments, hostels and colonies. During rainy season, all the places where water can stand are being closed, Water containers and water tanks. are being covered. Special instructions have been issued to prevent spillage of water from room coolers, air conditioners and refrigerators. Sanitation staff has been instructed not to allow water to collect in case of rain, to clean roofs and arrange for disposal of garbage. Anti-dengue sprays and fogging are being arranged in the artificial lakes located in the University for feeding dengue larva fish or sprinkling of appropriate drugs. Water should not be allowed to collect in construction materials and old tires. Similarly, the sewerage system is also being kept functional. All possible dengue breeding sites are being regularly monitored across the campuses.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاو ل پور میں انسدادِ ڈینگی مہم کے سلسلے میں مختلف سرگرمیاں جاری ہیں۔ انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلراسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی ہدایت پر میڈیکل اینڈ ہیلتھ کیئر، اسٹیٹ کیئر، ہال کونسل، فارم مینجمنٹ اور فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ اینوائرمنٹل سائنسز اس حوالے سے اقدامات کر رہے ہیں۔ چیف میڈیکل آفیسر ڈاکٹر عثمان چیمہ نے کہا ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاو ل پور میں انسدادِ ڈینگی مہم کے سلسلے میں مختلف سرگرمیوں کا آغاز ہو گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ڈینگی بخار کی ابتدائی علامات میں شدید بخار اور جسم میں درد ہوتا ہے جس کے باعث بھوک بھی نہیں لگتی، آنکھوں کے پیچھے درد شروع ہوتا ہے جو سر کے دوسری طرف پھیل جاتا ہے۔ جسم پر ایسے دھبے نمودار ہونے لگتے ہیں جو خسرے کی بیماری میں دکھائی دیتے ہیں۔ سانس لینے میں دشواری ہوتی ہے اور رنگت پیلی ہونے کے علاوہ پیٹ میں شدید تکلیف کے باعث مریض صدمے کی حالت میں چلا جاتا ہے۔ مریض کو نارمل خوراک کے ساتھ زیادہ مقدار میں جوس، سوپ اور دودھ دینا چاہیے اور مکمل آرام مہیا کرنا چاہیے۔ اس سلسلے میں احتیاطی تدابیر کے حوالے سے ہفتے میں دو سے تین بار گھروں، دفاتر اور دکانوں میں صفائی کر کے مچھر مار ادویات کا سپرے کرنا چاہیے۔ ڈینگی مچھر کی افزائش صاف پانی میں ہوتی ہے اس لیے صاف پانی جمع کرنے کے برتنوں مثلاً گھڑے، ڈرم، ٹینکی وغیرہ کو مناسب طریقے سے ڈھانپ کر رکھنا چاہیے۔ آج کل روم کولر کے استعمال کا موسم ہے اس لیے جب بھی یہ استعمال میں نہ ہوں ان میں سے پانی نکال لینا چاہیے۔مچھروں سے بچاؤ کے لیے کوائل، میٹ، لوشن اور مچھر دانی کا استعمال بھی کرنا چاہیے۔ گھروں کے اندر چھتوں، پودوں کی کیاریوں، گملوں، پرانے برتنوں اور ٹائروں میں پانی جمع نہ ہونے دیں۔ دریں اثناء تمام تدریسی اور انتظامی شعبہ جات، ہاسٹلز اور کالونیوں میں صفائی  اور سپر ے کے انتظامات کیے جارہے ہیں۔ برسات کے دوران تمام ایسی جگہوں پر جہاں پانی کھڑا ہو سکتا ہے بند کیا جا رہا ہے۔ پانی کے برتن اور واٹر ٹینک وغیرہ کو ڈھانپا جا رہا ہے۔ روم کولرز، ائیر کنڈیشنرز اور ریفریجریٹر سے نکلنے والے پانی کو پھیلنے سے روکنے کے لیے خصوصی ہدایات جاری کی گئی ہیں۔ صفائی کے عملے کو ہدایت کی گئی ہے کہ بارش کی صورت میں پانی کو اکٹھا نہ ہونے دیا جائے، چھتوں کی صفائی کی جائے اور کوڑے کرکٹ کو ٹھکانے لگانے کا بندوبست کیا جائے۔ واش رومز اور کچن میں لگے ہوئے ڈرین پائپوں سے پانی کے اخراج کو روکا جائے اور گملوں کو صاف ستھرا رکھا جائے۔ یونیورسٹی میں واقع مصنوعی جھیلوں میں ڈینگی لاروے کو کھانے والی مچھلیوں یا مناسب ادویات کے چھڑکاؤ، اینٹی ڈینگی سپرے اور فوگنگ کا بندوبست کیا جا رہا ہے۔ تعمیراتی سامان اور پرانے ٹائرز وغیرہ میں پانی اکھٹا نہ ہونے دیا جائے۔ اِسی طرح سیوریج سسٹم کو بھی فعال رکھا جا رہا ہے۔ ڈینگی مچھر کے افزئش کی تمام ممکنہ جگہوں کی باقاعدہ نگرانی کی جا رہی ہے۔
