About
Being a highly motivated and hard-working person, Mr. Amjad Hussain likes to accept new challenges. He always likes to learn new skills because there is no end of learning. He believes that everyone is blessed with qualities, thus, for a teacher, it is necessary to identify and explore the qualities of students and to engage them in different useful tasks, to produce good human being as well as qualified lawyers. He likes to teach and train the students in a way to provide the nation with legal experts equipped with the knowledge and ability to resolve the legal issues and disputes. He intends to produce qualitative legal research to contribute towards the legal reforms. He also likes to perform active role in character building of the students so that they may become a blessing for the society.
Mr. Amjad Hussain has been serving as Incharge, Department of Shari’ah & Law, IUB. He holds LLB (Gold Medalist) and LLM Degrees. He has 26 years of teaching and administrative experience. He has also served as Incharge of the Department of Law, IUB. He has been member of different forums. He is a member of Board of Studies and Board of Faculty for the discipline of Law. He has been serving as Advisor on behalf of Punjab Public Service Commission for different posts. He has also served as Paper-Setter for Punjab Public Service Commission competitive examinations for different posts. He has been serving as examiner for different Universities.
Mr. Amjad Hussain has been teaching a variety of courses like Skills Development, Islamic Jurisprudence, Law of Contract, Law of Torts, Equity, Constitutional Law, Islamic Personal Law, Human Rights Law, Administrative Law, etc. However, his main areas of interest are Human Rights Law and Administrative Law. He has supervised 18 LLM Theses and 10 LLB Projects. He has written 16 research papers for different journals of national and international repute.He has participated in many workshops and conferences in the discipline of Law. He has served as a member of the Special Committee for structural reforms in legal education (constituted by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan). He Succeeded in getting approval of the Special Committee and Supreme Court of Pakistan for Payment of Non-Practicing Allowance to the permanent Law Faculty in 2018. He is the person who designed the Law Admission Test (LAT) as entrance examination for LL. B Program for Pakistani Universities and Colleges offering legal education.
