About

Dr. Samina Ejaz got PhD (Biochemistry) degree from Department of Chemistry The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan in year 2014. Her Ph.D. research project was entiled “Analysis and Evaluation of Various Splice Variants / Isoforms of some Human Tissue Kallikreins as Biomarker of Asthma and Breast Cancer”

During her PhD she developed a time-resolved immunofluorometric (TRIF) back titration ELISA (bt-ELISA) that has not been reported earlier. The method is efficient for quantification of the selected KLKs in a range of biological fluids including serum, urine, saliva, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), ascitic fluid (ASF), pleural fluid and breast tissue cytosol. She detected novel spliced variants of KLK7 & 10 in breast cancer patients of Southern Punjab, Pakistan. Information regarding splice variants has been submitted to GenBank database.

She joined department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology on 6th Febraury, 2013. She is HEC Approved PhD Supervisor in the discipline of Biological Sciences. Currently she is supervising 05 PhD and 07 MS students. Her rearch group is working on molecular aspects of oncogenesis. She has published 20 research articles in reputed international journals. She has participated in various national and international conferences & training workshops.
