About
Dr. Waheed is an internationally recognized academic in the areas of data mining, text mining, machine learning, deep learning and applied artificial intelligence. His research career spans over 10 years. For the past 06 years, he has focused on data mining, machine learning and deep learning applied to problems in text analytics, social media understanding, web mining, and social aspects of data analytics. He is active member of Artificial Research Group (ARG) at IUB which is the center of his research activities. Dr. Waheed has been supervising four PhD and seven MSCS scholar’s in the data mining/machine learning area. He has authored of 17 articles at leading venues including 14 W category journal articles.His publications have over 100 citations with (h-index = 06). His current accumulative Impact Factor is 32.40.
Dr. Waheed’s has over 12 years of teaching, research, and development experience. In addition, he is a Sun Certified Java Programmer SCJP2 and Microsoft Certified Professional. Besides academic activities, Dr. Waheed is also an active adviser to the industry on data mining and machine learning problems.

Research Interests
His research is primarily concerned with natural language understanding, with a particular focus on Urdu text. He uses a combination of machine learning, deep learning and data-driven analytical techniques approaches to extract and organize knowledge buried in textual artifacts, with potential benefits for Urdu language.
