Dr. Kashif ur Rehman, is currently working as Associate Professor, Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), Punjab, Pakistan. He has completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2004 and M.Phil. Microbiology in 2008 from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Punjab Pakistan. In 2009, he has joined Livestock and Diary Development Department, Punjab, Pakistan as Veterinary Officer, Poultry research Institute Rawalpindi and remain in that position until 2014. In 2014, he was awarded with scholarship by Chinese Scholarship Council, China for PhD Microbiology at Huazhong Agricultural University, China, he was completed his PhD in 2017 with distinction and awarded with “Chinese Government Outstanding Scholar” award by Chinese Scholarship Council, Government of China. He has also awarded by State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Microbiology, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China with “Excellent Graduate Student” award and “Distinguish Student of HZAU” award by Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China. After completion of PhD from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China he has rejoin the Livestock and Diary Development Department, Punjab, Pakistan in 2017, as Assistant Disease Investigation Officer, District Layyah. Upon the acknowledgment of his services and contribution in the Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Punjab Pakistan he was appointed as Deputy Director Livestock, Multan in 2019. He was invited by Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China at 120th Anniversary of HZAU as invited speaker in 2018. In 2019 he was awarded with the “Best Research Paper Award” in 7th Higher Education Commission Outstanding Research Award”, Government of Pakistan. Prior to working at IUB, Dr. Kashif ur Rehman was Deputy Secretary (Technical) in Livestock and Dairy Development Department, South Punjab. Dr. Kashif ur Rehman has been a lead investigator and coordinator of several research projects funded by international funding agencies. He has 14 years of experience in veterinary education, research, and profession with more than 20 research publication in well reputed national and international journals and reviewer of various peer reviewed journals. His research activities focus on Bacteriology, discovery of novel genes and bioactive compounds from bacteria that are effective against animal infections disease pathogen and their mode of action, development of a food and biosafety testing method that is sensitive, specific, and quick using immunoassay technology (fungi toxin, Residues of Veterinary Drugs and pathogens microbes) and investigation of the process, the technology, and the potential applications of the co-conversion of organic waste by functional bacteria and insects (Such as black soldier fly).
