Profile Summary

Dr. Munazza Fatima is an Assistant Professor of Geography with more than 15 years of experience in teaching and research. Her areas of expertise include Medical Geography, Environmental Health, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Her doctoral research investigates the spatial relationships between respiratory infectious and environmental, meteorological, and socio-economic factors.

Dr. Fatima has published numerous high-impact research articles, particularly in the spatial analysis of diseases such as Tuberculosis, Malaria, and Acute Respiratory Infections. She has been actively involved in international scholarly projects, notably with the American Association of Geographers (AAG) and the International Geographic Union (IGU).

In the early stages of her career, she received the Young Scholar Travel Award twice: first from the American Science Foundation to present her research at the 13th International Medical Geography Symposium in 2013 at Michigan State University, and second from the University of Angers to present at the 15th Medical Geography Symposium in 2017 in Angers, France.

Dr. Fatima has honed her skills through extensive spatial statistical training courses at Columbia University New York USA, Bielefeld University, Germany, and the University of Zurich in Switzerland. Recently, she was awarded the IRSIP Doctoral Fellowship from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, enabling her to conduct her research at the University of Zurich, Switzerland from June to December 2022. In addition to her teaching and research responsibilities, Dr. Fatima is actively engaged in various departmental activities, contributing to the growth and development of the academic community.
