Profile Summary

Dr. Muhammad Rashid is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. He did DVM in 2013 from University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) and MPhil Parasitology in 2016 from University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. In this year, joined Lanzhou Veterinary Research Center (LVRI), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), China as PhD scholar. During his stay in LVRI, worked on “Impacts of Theileria annulata-transformation on the cytokine profiling of B lymphocytes and endocytosis/presentation of dendritic cells purified from cattle” to completed his doctorate degree in Veterinary Parasitology and Molecular Biology. He joined IUB as Assistant Professor in Nov. 2020. He is now actively involved in developing research activities to diagnose, drug resistance, Molecular Parasitology and innumology in addition to academic activities.

1. Mutation in Theileria annulata cytochrome b gene associated with buparvaquone resistance (1million)

2. Development of a rapid and low cost lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) diagnostic kit for Echinococcosis (16.471)
