Profile Summary

Ms. Samar Shahzadi received her Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics from International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan in 2010. She received her Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from GC University, Faisalabad, Pakistan in 2013. Her MS research focused on development of antiviral compounds and targeting Glycosylation site with mannose binding lectins to stop viral entry into host cell at the GC University Faisalabad under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Rizwan Javed. Prior to joining  IUB she served at The Government Sadiq College Women University as a Visiting lecturer of Bioinformatics. Also served at Computational Genomics and System Biology Lab at LUMS, Her as expertise in Bioinformatics gives her great experience in the application of techniques from computer science and statistics to identify and understand patterns in the ever-more complex datasets produced by genome-wide profiling technologies and also have expertise to perform Molecular Docking and MD Simulations. Her long term goals are to apply post-genomic technologies and computational tools for translational research into human disease and to train graduate students who can apply these tools in a clinical setting.
