Profile Summary

Ms. Sana Arshad is Assistant professor of Geography serving in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan since 2009. She is a proactive researcher with over 20 national and international research publications in prestigious D1 and Q1 journals. Her field of expertise include remote sensing applications in agroecological system integrating the phenomenon of climate change. She has submitted his PhD research and near to completion of her doctorate.

Her practical research excellency is apparent from her published work for yield prediction modelling in south Punjab, Pakistan in prestigious journals such as “Field Crops Research” and “European Journal of Agronomy”. She incorporated recent cutting edge remote sensing data with climate change (drought indicators) into machine and deep learning environment for an in-depth insight.  Moreover, her practical excellency in UAV/drone applications in precision farming is also evident in her research publications. She is highly capable of working in competitive research environment showing her extraordinary academic and research skills. She is working in collaboration with senior research scientists from Debrecen University, Hungary.

Her technical geospatial expertise in cloud computing platforms like Google Earth Engine, Python, and R enabled her to solve real world environmental problems. Moreover, her ability in geospatial data analysis in ArcGIS environment enables her to perform various kind of spatial analysis. She excellently developed her skills in the AI and ML applications for geospatial analysis as reflected in her research. Her problem solving approach makes her better fit to bridge the academic (research) and industry gap for the betterment of society.
