Profile Summary

I am a desert agronomist with focus on introduction, adaptability and yield improvement of climate resilient field crops under water deficit conditions. Developing an integrated model for sustainable desert agriculture through improving crop, water and soil use efficiency. Combining approaches for anti-desertification, saline agriculture and soil conservation. I am also working on the water productivity enhancement of summer and winter field crops under drip and sprinkler irrigation systems. It includes screening and evaluation of cereal crops, pulses, oilseed crops, fodders, fruit trees, perennial forages, medicinal plants and introduction of high value new crops such as lupin, faba bean and proso millat for desert farming.
