Book Launch Ceremony of the book “ ”ستاروں پہ جو ڈالتے ہیں کمند" of Author Prof Imran Basher at Abbasia Campus, IUB

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, being a 100-year-old academic institution of the region, strives for the promotion and development of local literature and arts. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur expressed these views on the occasion of the launch of Prof. Imran Bashir's book "ستاروں پر جو ڈالتے ہیں کمند". The Vice-Chancellor said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a great higher education institution of the Indian sub-continent with which many talented personalities are associated. This institution has been patronizing local poets and writers since the days of Nawabin Bahawalpur. In the last few years, following this tradition, the Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival was inaugurated in which local poets, writers and artists associated with Mahfil e  Mushara, regional music, theater and fine arts were invited and presented their art. A platform was provided to showcase the essence. The university published books by local authors and organized events to launch and celebrate them. Currently, there are 20 such books in print which are written by local personalities. Prof. Dr. Aftab Hussain Gillani, Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies said that the book " ستاروں پر جو ڈالتے ہیں کمند " covers the educational and social services of Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. He rendered commendable services in the establishment of Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Technology Rahim Yar Khan in Bahawalpur Division and the development and expansion of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Writer Prof. Imran Bashir said that Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob's educational services and the promotion of knowledge and literature and the patronage of scholars by the university is a very welcome initiative. Renowned poet Tahir Shaheer specially participated in the event and captivated the audience with his poetry.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور خطے کی 100 سالہ قدیم علمی دانشگاہ ہونے کے ناطے مقامی ادب اور فنون کی ترویج و ترقی کے لیے کوشاں ہے۔ اس بات کا اظہار انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے پروفیسر عمران بشیر کی کتاب ستاروں پر جو ڈالتے ہیں کمند کی تقریب رونمائی کے موقع پر کیا۔ وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور برصغیر پاک و ہند کا عظیم اعلیٰ تعلیمی ادارہ ہے جس سے بہت سی نابغہ روزگار شخصیات وابستہ رہیں۔ یہ ادارہ نوابین بہاولپور کے دور سے مقامی شاعروں اور ادیبوں کی سرپرستی کرتا رہا ہے۔ گزشتہ چند برسوں میں اس روایت کو قائم رکھتے ہوئے بہاول پور لٹریری اینڈ کلچرل فیسٹیول کی داغ بیل ڈالی گئی جس میں محفل مشاعرہ، علاقائی موسیقی، تھیٹر اور فائن آرٹس سے وابستہ مقامی شاعروں، ادیبوں اور آرٹسٹوں کو مدعو کیا گیا اور انہیں اپنے فن کے جوہر دکھانے کے لیے پلیٹ فارم مہیا کیا گیا۔ یونیورسٹی نے مقامی مصنفین کی کتب کو شائع کیا اور ان کی تقاریب رونمائی اور پزیرائی منعقد کی گئی۔ اس وقت ایسی ہی 20 کتب زیر طبع ہیں جو مقامی شخصیات کی تصانیف ہیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آفتاب حسین گیلانی چیئرمین شعبہ مطالعہ پاکستان نے کہا کہ کتاب ستاروں پر جو ڈالتے ہیں کمند پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی تعلیمی اور سماجی خدمات کا احاطہ کرتی ہے۔ انہوں نے ڈویژن بہاولپور میں خواجہ فرید یونیورسٹی آف انجینئرنگ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی رحیم یار خان کے قیام اور اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی ترقی و توسیع میں قابل تحسین خدمات سر انجام دیں۔ مصنف پروفیسر عمران بشیر نے کہا کہ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی تعلیمی خدمات اور علم و ادب کے فروغ اور جامعہ کی طرف سے اہل علم کی سرپرستی بہت خوش آئند اقدام ہے۔ تقریب میں نامور شاعر طاہر شہیر نے خصوصی طور پر شرکت کی اور اپنی شاعری سے حاضرین محفل کے دل موہ لیے۔
