Botany Department of IUB has taken possession of 5 acres of Experimental Area

The department of Botany the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has taken possession of 5 acres of experimental area in Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. The chairman department of Botany Prof Dr. Muhammad Iqbal and all faculty members thanked the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob for giving opportunity that may play a significant role to enhance the quality of research in the field of Botany. On this occasion, the Chairman and all faculty members planted tree saplings as an Inaugural token. The faculty of Botany Department is determined to develop this research area in the form of Botanical Garden that may serve as a source of plant identifications and Centre of Ex-Situ conservation having seed bank, native and exotic live plants and herbarium specimen collections.

شعبہ نباتیات اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے بغداد الجدید کیمپس میں 5 ایکڑزمین بطور تجرباتی علاقہ حاصل کر لی ہے۔وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کے اس اقدام سے شعبہ نباتیات تحقیق کے میدان میں بہترین کارکردگی کا مظاہرہ کر سکے گا۔اس موقع پر چیئرمین شعبہ نباتات پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد اقبال اور تمام فیکلٹی ممبران نے وائس چانسلر کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ نباتیات ڈیپارٹمنٹ کی فیکلٹی بوٹینیکل گارڈن کی شکل میں اس ریسرچ ایریا کو ترقی دینے کا عزم رکھتی ہے جو سیڈ بینک، مقامی اور غیر ملکی پودے اور ہربیریم اور تحفظ کے مرکز کے طور پر کام کر سکتا ہے۔
