Breast cancer awareness seminar was held at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Breast cancer in Pakistani women proves to be life-threatening. Due to modern scientific development, early diagnosis and treatment of this disease is possible. However, due to lack of awareness in this regard, this disease is spreading rapidly in Pakistan and other Asian countries. According to the annual report of the World Health Organization, one million women are suffering from breast cancer in Pakistan every year. This was expressed by the speakers in the awareness seminar held at College of Art and Design the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The seminar was presided over by Begum Vice Chancellor Mrs. Rabia Athar. On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Principal College of Art and Design Ms. Maria Ansari, Dr. Amna Noor, Deputy Registrar Fatima Muzahir and faculty members were present. Director of Women Healthcare Center Dr. Safina Sheikh gave a detailed lecture in the seminar. The speakers said that breast cancer awareness campaign needs to be carried out vigorously. In this regard, media and educational institutions can play an important role so that women can be aware of the seriousness of this disease. Unfortunately, our society is extremely backward regarding this disease, on the one hand, there are very few facilities for diagnosis and treatment, and on the other hand, our women hesitate to tell about this disease due to social traditionalism. On this occasion, the College of Art and Design building was decorated with pink banners. An art exhibition was also organized to raise awareness about breast cancer. Begum Vice Chancellor Mrs. Rabia Athar inaugurated the art exhibition.

بہاول پور (پ ر) پاکستانی خواتین میں چھاتی کا جان لیوا ثابت ہوتا ہے۔ جدید سائنسی ترقی کی بدولت اس مرض کی ابتدائی تشخیص اور علاج ممکن ہے۔ تاہم اس حوالے سے آگاہی نہ ہونے کے باعث پاکستان اور دیگر ایشیائی ممالک میں یہ مرض تیزی سے پھیل رہا ہے۔ ورلڈ ہیلتھ آرگنائزیشن کی سالانہ رپورٹ کے مطابق پاکستان میں ہر سال ایک ملین خواتین چھاتی کے سرطان میں مبتلا ہوتی ہیں۔ اس بات کا اظہار مقررین نے کالج آف آرٹ اینڈ ڈیزائن اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پورمیں منعقد کئے گئے آگاہی سیمینار میں کیا۔ سیمینار کی صدارت بیگم وائس چانسلر محترمہ رابعہ اطہر نے کی۔ اس موقع پر ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی، پرنسپل کالج آف آرٹ اینڈ ڈیزائن ماریہ انصاری، ڈاکٹرآمنہ نور اور ڈپٹی رجسٹرار فاطمہ مظاہر و فیکلٹی ممبران موجود تھیں۔ سیمینار میں ڈائریکٹر وومن ہیلتھ کیئر سنٹر ڈاکٹر سفینہ شیخ نے تفصیلی لیکچر دیا۔ مقررین نے کہا کہ چھاتی کے سرطان سے متعلق آگاہی مہم کو زوروشور سے چلانے کی ضرورت ہے۔ اس ضمن میں میڈیا اور تعلیمی ادارے اہم کردار ادا کرسکتے ہیں تاکہ خواتین کو اس مرض کی سنگینی سے باخبر رکھا جاسکے۔ بدقسمتی سے ہمارا معاشرہ اس مرض کے حوالے سے انتہائی پسماندگی کا شکار ہے ایک طرف تو تشخیص اور علاج کے لیے بہت کم سہولتیں میسرہیں اوردوسری جانب ہماری خواتین سماجی روایت پرستی کی وجہ سے اس مرض سے متعلق بتاتے ہوئے جھجکتی ہیں۔ اس موقع پر کالج آف آرٹ اینڈ ڈیزائن کی عمارت کوگلابی رنگوں کے بینرز سے سجایا گیا تھا۔ چھاتی کے سرطان سے متعلق شعور بیدار کرنے کے لئے آرٹ کی نمائش کا بھی انعقاد کیا گیا۔ بیگم وائس چانسلر محترمہ رابعہ اطہر نے آرٹ کی نمائش کا افتتاح کیا۔
