Chief Minister Punjab, Hamza Shehbaz gave in-principle approval to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur's project to increase rainfall. In this regard, a special online meeting was attended by Chief Minister of Punjab and Provincial Secretaries. From Bahawalpur, Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Raja Jahangir Anwar, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Irfan Ali Kathia and other officers were present. Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob briefed in detail about the plan to increase rainfall in Cholistan through the system. The Chief Minister Punjab termed the project as significant in the context of growing population and national food security. He directed the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and provincial department to implement meteorological technology system project on a trial basis. He said that this project of artificial rain should also be tested in Lahore for elimination of smog. It was informed in the briefing that the implementation of this project would increase the rainfall rate in Cholistan by up to 500 mm which would create a special agro-economic zone on an area of 6.5 million acres. The project will significantly increase livestock along with land resettlement in Cholistan. The project will benefit the national economy to the tune of 10 billion and the locals of Cholistan will be prosperous. On the occasion, the Punjab Chief Minister praised the Vice Chancellor of Islamia University Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob and the scientists for presenting a project of national importance.

وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب حمزہ شہباز نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے بارشوں میں اضافے کے پراجیکٹ کی اصولی منظوری دے دی۔اس سلسلے میں خصوصی آن لائن اجلاس میں وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب اور صوبائی سیکرٹریز نے شرکت کی جبکہ بہاول پور سے وائس چانسلر انجینئرپروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب، کمشنر بہاول پور راجہ جہانگیر انور، ڈپٹی کمشنر عرفان علی کاٹھیا اوردیگر افسران شریک تھے۔وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے آن لائن اجلاس میں وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب کو خصوصی موسمیاتی نظام کے ذریعے چولستان میں بارشوں میں اضافے کے منصوبے سے متعلق تفصیلی آگاہ کیا۔ وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب نے بڑھتی ہوئی آبادی اور نیشنل فوڈ سیکورٹی کے تناظر میں اس منصوبے کو بہت اہمیت کا حامل قرار دیا۔ انہوں نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پورکو آزمائشی بنیادوں پر موسمیاتی ٹیکنالوجی نظا م کے منصوبے پر عملدرآمد کی اجازت دے دی۔انہوں نے کہا کہ مصنوعی بارش کے اس منصوبے کو لاہور میں بھی سموگ کے خاتمے کے لیے بھی آزمایا جائے۔ بریفنگ میں بتایا گیا کہ اس منصوبے پر عملدرآمد سے چولستان میں بارش کی شرح میں 500ملی میٹر تک اضافہ ہو گا جس سے 6.5ملین ایکٹر رقبے پر خصوصی ایگرو اکنامک زون قائم ہو سکے گا۔ اس منصوبے سے چولستان میں زمین کی آبادکاری کے ساتھ ساتھ لائیو سٹاک میں بھی خاطر خواہ اضافہ ہوگا۔ اس منصوبے سے ملکی معیشت کو 10ارب ڈالر کا فائدہ پہنچے گا اورچولستان کے مقامی باشندے خوشحال ہوں گے۔اس موقع پر وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب کی جانب سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب اور سائنسدانوں کو قومی اہمیت کا منصوبہ پیش کرنے پر سراہا گیا۔
