Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Raja Jahangir Anwar visited IUB on the occasion of 75th Independence Day

Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Raja Jahangir Anwar has said that freedom is a blessing and Pakistan is God's gift. As common citizens we all can play our role for the development and wellbeing of this country. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a great asset of the region which plays a key role in the educational development of the region. Commissioner Bahawalpur expressed these views while addressing a seminar in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur today in connection with the 75th anniversary of Pakistan's independence. During his visit, he also visited the Central Admission Office along with Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. On this occasion, a special national song prepared by the students of the university was also launched by the Nazria-i-Pakistan Society Directorate of Students Affairs. Raja Jahangir Anwar while addressing the teachers and students said that we should have positive and optimistic thoughts for Pakistan and work for a bright future. As a common citizen we can do things that have far-reaching consequences. Common people can actively participate in the development of the country through high moral values, cleanliness and sanitation and plantation. He said that efforts are being made to spread disappointment regarding the dear motherland Pakistan, while the reality is that Pakistan's 75 years of achievements are more. We as a nation have achieved many things in 75 years and today's Pakistan is one of the most important countries in the world. He said that Bahawalpur division is located in the center of Pakistan and 52% of the country's cotton, 17% of wheat, and 28% of sugarcane are produced in Bahawalpur. He said that with the cooperation of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and common citizens, 34 million trees will be planted and the temperature of Bahawalpur will be reduced by 2 degrees. He said that under the leadership of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, the university is developing in a vigorous manner and the district administration is getting full support of the university in the beautification of the city and other important issues. Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Law, Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies Prof. Dr. Aftab Hussain Gillani, Chairman Department of Political Science, Prof. Dr. Maswar Hussain Bukhari, Dr. Sarfraz Batol and Naseer Ahmad Nasir also addressed. Earlier, Commissioner Bahawalpur along with the Vice Chancellor reviewed the central admission campaign and discussed with the students who got admission in the first merit list. He appreciated the state-of-the-art admission portal and one-window admission among other facilities. On this occasion, Director IT Rizwan Majeed said that due to the excellent admission facilities, the number of male and female students in Islamia University Bahawalpur has increased from 13 thousand to 57 thousand and 15 to 17 thousand new admissions will be provided in the recent admission campaign.

کمشنر بہاول پور ڈویژن راجہ جہانگیرانور نے کہا ہے کہ آزادی ایک نعمت ہے اور پاکستان تحفہ خداوندی ہے۔ بطور عام شہری ہم سب اپنی سطح پر اس ملک کی ترقی اور بھلائی کے لئے کردار ادا کر سکتے ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور اس خطہ کا عظیم اثاثہ ہے جو علاقے کی تعلیمی ترقی میں کلیدی کردار کا حامل ہے۔ کمشنر بہاول پور نے ان خیالات کا اظہار آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں پاکستان کی آزادی کی 75 سالہ تقریبات کے سلسلے میں سیمینار سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ انہوں نے اپنے دورے کے دوران وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کے ہمراہ سینٹرل ایڈمیشن آفس کا بھی دورہ کیا۔ اس موقع پر نظریہ پاکستان سوسائٹی ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف سٹوڈنٹس افیرء کی جانب سے یونیورسٹی طلباء وطالبات کا تیار کردہ خصوصی ملی نغمہ بھی لانچ کیا گیا۔ راجہ جہانگیر انور نے اساتذہ اور طلباء وطالبات سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ہمیں مثبت اور پرامید سوچ کے ساتھ پاکستان کے روشن مستقبل کے لئے کام کرنا ہے۔ ایک عام شہری کے طور پر ہم ایسے کام سرانجام دے سکتے ہیں جو دوررس نتائج کے حامل ہیں۔ عام آدمی ملک کی ترقی میں اعلیٰ اخلاقی اقدار، صفائی اور ستھرائی اور شجرکاری کے ذریعے فعال اندا زمیں حصہ لے سکتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہاکہ وطن عزیز پاکستان کے حوالے سے مایوسی پھیلانے کی کوشش کی جاتی ہے جب کہ حقیقت تو یہ ہے کہ پاکستان کی 75سالہ کامیابیاں زیادہ ہیں۔ ہم نے بطور قوم 75برسوں میں بہت سی کامیابیاں سمیٹی ہیں اور آج کا پاکستان ہر لحاظ سے دنیا کے اہم ترین ملکوں میں شمار ہوتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بہاول پور ڈویژن پاکستان کے مرکز میں واقع ہے او رملکی کپاس کی پیداوار کا 52فیصد، گندم کا 17فیصد،گنے کا 28فیصد خطہ بہاول پور میں ہی پیدا ہوتا ہے۔ آم کی پیداوار اور ملک کے زرعی رقبے کے لحاظ سے بھی بہاول پور تیسرے نمبر پر آتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاو ل پور اور عام شہریوں کے تعاون سے 34لاکھ درخت لگائے جائیں گے اور بہاول پور کے درجہ حرارات کو 2 ڈگری کم کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی قیادت میں یونیورسٹی بھرپور انداز میں ترقی کر رہی ہے شہر کی خوبصورتی تعمیری سرگرمیوں اور دیگر اہم امور میں ضلعی انتظامیہ کو یونیورسٹی کا بھرپور تعاون حاصل ہے۔ سیمینار سے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب، ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی، ڈین فیکلٹی آف لاء وچیئر مین شعبہ پاکستان سٹڈیز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آفتاب حسین گیلانی، چیئر مین شعبہ سیاسیات، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مصور حسین بخاری، ڈاکٹر سرفراز بتول اور نصیر احمد ناصر نے بھی خطاب کیا۔ اس سے قبل کمشنر بہاول پور نے وائس چانسلر کے ہمراہ مرکزی داخلہ مہم کا جائزہ لیا اور گھوٹوی ہال و سینٹرل ایڈمیشن آفس میں آئے ہوئے پہلی میرٹ لسٹ میں داخلہ حاصل کرنے والے طلباء وطالبات سے تبادلہ خیال کیا۔ انہوں نے جدید ترین ایڈمیشن پورٹل اور ون ونڈو ایڈمیشن کی دیگر سہولیات کو سراہا۔ اس موقع پر ڈائریکٹر آئی ٹی رضوان مجید نے بتایا کہ بہترین داخلہ سہولیات کے باعث اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں طلباء وطالبات کی تعداد 13ہزار سے بڑھ کر57 ہزار ہو چکی ہے اور حالیہ داخلہ مہم میں 15سے 17ہزار نئے داخلے فراہم کئے جائیں گے۔
