Prof. Dr. M Iqbal Chaudhry, Coordinator General, COMSTECH Islamabad has appreciated the extraordinary developmental activities underway at the Islamia University Bahawalpur. During a meeting with Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob today, he said that the latest research of agricultural scientists of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on cotton, mushrooms, cut flowers, fruits and vegetables is a bright hope in the field of higher education. These research activities bode well for the development of the country's agricultural economy. He also praised the ongoing research on Cholistani flora and fauna at the Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies. He said that there are rare plants in the Cholistan Desert which are very important for the herbal medicine industry. The research on these plants and herbs at this institute is commendable. During his visit, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Chaudhry also visited the 2.5 MW Solar Park being set up at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with the Punjab Government. With this project, the Islamia University Bahawalpur will be converted into solar energy and additional power will be added to the national grid. The distinguished guest also visited the Deer Breeding Center of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The breeding center, established in collaboration with the Houbara Foundation, has hundreds of deer that enhance the beauty of the Baghdad ul Jadeed campus in addition to research in the veterinary field.

پروفیسر ڈاکٹرایم اقبال چوہدری کوآرڈنیٹر جنرل کامسٹک اسلام آباد نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں جاری غیر معمولی ترقیاتی سرگرمیوں کو سراہا ہے۔ وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب سے آج ایک ملاقات کے دوران انہوں نے کہا کہ جامعہ اسلامیہ کے زرعی سائنسدانوں کی کپاس، مشروم، کٹ فلاور، پھلوں اور پھولوں سے متعلق جدید ترین تحقیق اعلیٰ تعلیم کے میدان میں ایک روشن اُمید ہے۔ یہ تحقیقی سرگرمیاں ملکی زرعی معیشت کی ترقی کے لیے نیک شگون ہیں۔ انہوں نے چولستان انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیزرٹ سٹڈیز میں جاری چولستانی حیات پر تحقیق کو بھی بہت سراہا۔ انہو ں نے کہا کہ صحرائے چولستان میں ایسے نادر اور نایاب پودے موجود ہیں جو ہربل میڈیسن کی صنعت کے لیے نہایت اہم ہیں۔ اس انسٹی ٹیو ٹ میں ان پودوں اور جڑی بوٹیوں پر تحقیق قابل تعریف ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ایم اقبال چوہدری نے اپنے دورے کے دوران جامعہ اسلامیہ میں پنجاب حکومت کے تعاون سے تنصیب کے جا رہے 2.5میگا واٹ کے سولر پارک کا بھی دورہ کیا۔ اس منصوبے سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور شمسی توانائی پر منتقل ہو جائے گی اور اضافی بجلی قومی گرڈ میں شامل کی جائے گی۔ معزز مہمان نے فیکلٹی آف ویٹرنری سائنسز کے ہرنوں کی افزائش نسل کے مرکز بھی دورہ کیا۔ ہوبارہ فاؤنڈیشن کے تعاون سے قائم کیے گئے اس بریڈنگ سینٹر میں سینکڑوں ہرن موجود ہیں جو ویٹرنری فیلڈ میں تحقیق کے علاوہ بغداد الجدید کیمپس کی خوبصورتی میں بھی اضافہ کرتے ہیں۔
