Dr. Abid Shahzad participated in the first international student convention in Lahore along with foreign students of IUB

According to the vision of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Jamia Islamia Bahawalpur has achieved the status of international university. In the last four years, the university has achieved extraordinary growth, expansion and success in every field thanks to the pedagogic and administrative reforms. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has been included in the top 800 universities of the world by Times Higher Education Ranking, an organization that compiles the global ranking of universities. Now students from other countries of the world are also coming to study in Islamia University Bahawalpur. In this regard, Directorate of International Linkages of Islamia University Bahawalpur is actively providing services. Recently, in the first International Students Convention at Lahore organized by Punjab Higher Education Commission Lahore, the IUB delegates comprising Dr Abid Shahzad, Director International Linkages, Bashar Ahmad BS Software Engineering and Muahammad Saleh BS Software Engineering of IUB (both from Republic of Yemen) participated. The Convention was chaired by the Governor Punjab/ Chancellor Engr Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman and hosted by the Chairman, Punjab Higher Education Commission, Prof Dr Shahid Muneer. On this occasions, Vice Chancellors of various universities, Directors of International Linkages and a large number of International students from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kashmir, Palestine, Somalia, Afghanistan, Uganda, UAE, Iran and other countries participated in the event. The students from various countries showed their cultural performances and amused the audience. On the occasion, the Chancellor Engr Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman said that International students should be attracted through offering of scholarships so that international linkages of Pakistan become stronger. Chairman PHEC Prof Dr Shahid Muneer pledged that PHEC would support all universities to strengthen their International Office and PHEC will train the International office personnel on how to bring international students to universities. On the occasion Prof Dr Sohail Naqvi, Prof Dr Nizam ud din and other vice chancellors spoke to the audience.

وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے ویژن کے مطابق اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور بین الاقوامی یونیورسٹی کا درجہ حاصل کر چکی ہے۔ گذشتہ چار برسوں میں تدریسی و انتظامی اصلاحات کی بدولت یونیورسٹی نے ہر شعبے میں غیر معمولی ترقی ، توسیع اور کامیابی حاصل کی۔ جامعات کی عالمی درجہ بندی مرتب کرنیوالے ادارے ٹائمز ہائر ایجوکیشن رینکنگ نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کو دنیا کی صف اول کی 800 جامعات میں شامل کیا ہے۔ اب دنیا کے دیگر ممالک سے بھی طلبا وطالبات اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں حصول تعلیم کے لئے آ رہے ہیں۔ اسی سلسلے میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کا ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف انٹرنیشنل لنکیجز فعال انداز میں خدمات سر انجام دے رہا ہے۔ گذشتہ دنوں پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن لاہورکے زیر اہتمام پہلے بین الاقوامی طلبہ کنونشن میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے مندوبین ڈاکٹر عابد شہزاد، ڈائریکٹر انٹرنیشنل لنکیجز، بشار احمد بی ایس سافٹ ویئر انجینئرنگ اور محمد صالح بی ایس سافٹ ویئر انجینئرنگ (دونوں جمہوریہ یمن سے ہیں) نے شرکت کی۔ کنونشن کی صدارت گورنرپنجاب و چانسلر انجینئر محمد بلیغ الرحمن نے کی اور اس کی میزبانی چیئرمین پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شاہد منیر نے کی۔ اس موقع پر مختلف یونیورسٹیوں میں زیر تعلیم سعودی عرب، یمن، سری لنکا، نیپال، کشمیر، فلسطین، صومالیہ، افغانستان، یوگنڈا، متحدہ عرب امارات، ایران اور دیگر ممالک کے بین الاقوامی طلباء کی بڑی تعداد نے تقریب میں شرکت کی۔ مختلف ممالک کے طلباء نے اپنی ثقافتی پرفارمنس کا شاندار مظاہرہ پیش کیا۔
