Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has appreciated the research activities of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur: Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has appreciated the research activities of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur which are very important in the country's economy. This was expressed today during a meeting with Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob at the office of the Federal Ministry of Finance. He said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur's research on cotton varieties is very important for the country's textile industry and he is happy to know that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has researched very positive results in other agricultural fields apart from the cotton field. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that the research projects of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur are adding 30 billion dollars to the country's economy annually, which can improve the Pakistan’s economy and the university's contribution to the country. He said that the cotton varieties of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur have excellent production and are effective against diseases in local climatic changes and cotton seeds of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur are grown on 50% of the cultivated area of Punjab. On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor told the Federal Minister of Finance that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with Chinese University is also working on intercropping technology by which soybean and maize crops are grown in the same field, which will provide the country with poultry feed and edible oil. In this way, billions of rupees of foreign exchange will be saved. He informed about the establishment of agro-economic zone in Cholistan and the research of scientists of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur about artificial rain project in this regard. He said that the plan to increase the rains can turn Cholistan into a fruit basket and it can add 10 billion dollars to the annual agricultural economy of Pakistan. He invited the Federal Minister to visit the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and review these research activities in detail. During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor also informed the Federal Minister about the development projects worth Rs. 12 billion in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, including the Rs. 4 billion projects of the federal government, the major development projects of Rs. 4 billion under public-private partnership and the university's Rs. 4 billion projects from own sources are included.

بہاول پور :وفاقی وزیر خزانہ مفتاح اسماعیل نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی ملکی معیشت میں انتہائی اہمیت کی حامل تحقیقی سرگرمیوں کو سراہا ہے۔ اس بات کا اظہار آج وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئرپروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب سے وفاقی وزارت خزانہ کے دفتر میں ملاقات کے دوران کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی کپاس کی اقسام پر تحقیق ملکی ٹیکسٹائل صنعت کے لیے نہایت اہم ہے اور انہیں یہ جان کر خوشی ہوئی ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کپاس کے میدان کے علاوہ دوسرے زرعی شعبوں میں بہت مثبت نتائج کی تحقیق کر رہی ہے۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے تحقیقی منصوبے ملکی معیشت میں سالانہ 30 ارب ڈالر کا اضافہ کر رہے ہیں جس سے ملکی معیشت میں بہتری لائی جا سکتی ہے اور یونیورسٹی کی طرف سے وطن عزیز کے لیے بہترین تحفہ ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی کپاس کی اقسام مقامی موسمیاتی تبدیلیوں میں بہترین پیداوار اور بیماریوں کے خلاف موثر ہیں اور پنجاب کے 50 فیصد زیر کاشت رقبے پر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے کپاس کے بیج کاشت ہور ہے ہیں۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر نے انہیں بتایا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور چینی یونیورسٹی کے تعاون سے انٹرکراپنگ ٹیکنالوجی پر بھی کام کر رہی ہے جس سے ایک ہی کھیت میں سویابین اور مکئی کی فصل کاشت کی جا رہی ہے جس سے ملک کو پولٹری فیڈ اور خوردنی تیل کی مد میں اربوں روپے کے زرمبادلہ کی بچت ہو گی۔ انہوں نے چولستان میں ایگرواکنامک زون کے قیام اور اس سلسلے میں مصنوعی بارش کے منصوبے کے بارے میں بھی اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے سائنسدانوں کی تحقیق سے آگاہ کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بارشوں میں اضافے کے منصوبے سے چولستان کو فروٹ باسکٹ میں بدلا جا سکتا ہے اور اس سے سالانہ زرعی معیشت میں 10 ارب ڈالر کا اضافہ ہو سکتا ہے۔ انہوں نے وفاقی وزیر کو دعوت دی کہ وہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور تشریف لاکر ان تحقیقی سرگرمیوں کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیں۔ ملاقات کے دوران وائس چانسلر نے وفاقی وزیر کو اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں 12 ارب روپے مالیت کے ترقیاتی منصوبوں کے بارے میں بھی آگاہ کیا جن میں وفاقی حکومت کے 4 ارب روپے کے منصوبے، پبلک پرائیوٹ پارٹنرشپ کے تحت 4 ارب روپے کے بڑے ترقیاتی منصوبے اور یونیورسٹی کے اپنے ذرائع سے 4 ارب روپے کے منصوبے شامل ہیں۔
