Four Day consultative meeting on Education Policy 2021 conclude

The four-day high-level consultative meeting on Education Policy 2021 on the direction of Federal Ministry of Education and Vocational Training at Islamia University Bahawalpur ended today. The closing session was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Prof. Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Khan and Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Capt. (R) Zafar Iqbal was the chief guest on this occasion. Commissioner Bahawalpur Capt. (R) Zafar Iqbal addressed the gathering and appreciated the convening of a high level consultative meeting on National Education Policy at Islamia University Bahawalpur. He said that teachers have a key role to play in national development and nation building. Education is not a teacher's profession but a mission. Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had clarified the educational policy in his speech at Dhaka University immediately after the establishment of Pakistan. He had openly said that a large part of the resources would be devoted to the education sector. We need to focus on research and development and keep ourselves abreast of rapidly changing global conditions. In this regard, teachers should prepare students for this global competitive race. In his address on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, said that knowledge is the great heritage of Muslims and the convening of Muslim Education Conference by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was an important milestone for the promotion of education in the Indian subcontinent. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, which was established on the model of Al-Azhar University, is a continuation of this great intellectual heritage. Immediately after the formation of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah convened an education conference. Islamia University Bahawalpur brings together stakeholders on a platform for consultation on important issues of national importance and provides an opportunity for discussion and debate. The recommendations of this four-day consultative meeting will be sent to the Federal Ministry of Education. Vice Chancellor Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Prof. Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Khan said that development goals should be set in all fields including education and for this purpose dialogue culture should be promoted. Focal Person Prof. Dr. Irshad Hussain said that the four-day consultative meeting was attended by Vice Chancellors, Heads of Schools and Colleges from 12 universities and teachers of religious seminaries and presented very useful and practical suggestions for formulating National Education Policy. These suggestions will be documented and sent to the Federal Ministry of Education. He also appreciated the role of the Inter-University Consortium for Development and Social Sciences on cooperation in the consultative meeting. In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Faiz ul Hassan Naseem outlined the education policy for 2020 to 2025 and said that the existing education system needs to be restructured to prepare young people with creative abilities to meet the global challenges. Do Senior Journalist Amin Abbasi termed the practical participation and consultation of teachers of local schools and madrassas in the consultative meeting as a very important development. Dean Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Akhtar Ali appreciated and thanked the delegates for attending the consultative meeting. He said that the Faculty of Education regularly organizes national and international seminars and conferences on the education system, curriculum and teaching methods and the present consultative meeting has proved to be a fruitful endeavor in this regard.

بہاول پور (پ ر) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں وفاقی وزارت تعلیم وپیشہ ورانہ تربیت کی ہدایت پر ایجوکیشن پالیسی 2021کے حوالے سے جاری چار روزہ اعلیٰ سطحی مشاورتی اجلاس آج اختتام پذیر ہو گیا۔ اختتامی اجلاس کی صدارت وائس چانسلر چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینمل سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سجاد احمد خان نے کی اور کمشنر بہاول پور ڈویژن کیپٹن (ر) ظفر اقبال اس موقع پر مہمان خصوصی تھے۔کمشنر بہاول پور کیپٹن (ر) ظفر اقبال نے اپنے خطاب میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں قومی تعلیمی پالیسی کے حوالے سے اعلیٰ سطحی مشاورتی اجلاس کے انعقاد کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اساتذہ قومی ترقی اور قوم کی تعمیر میں کلیدی کردار کے حامل ہیں۔ تعلیم اساتذہ کا پروفیشن نہیں بلکہ مشن ہے۔ قائدا عظم محمد علی جناح نے قیام پاکستان کے فوری بعد ڈھاکہ یونیورسٹی میں اپنی خطاب میں تعلیمی پالیسی واضح کر دی تھی۔ انہوں نے واشگاف الفاظ میں کہا تھا کہ تعلیم کے شعبے کے لیے وسائل کا بڑا حصہ وقف کیا جائے گا۔ ہمیں ریسرچ اینڈ ڈویلپمنٹ پر توجہ کی ضرور ت ہے اور تیزی سے بدلتے ہوئے عالمی حالات کے مطابق خود کو متحرک رکھنا ہوگا۔ اس سلسلے میں اساتذہ کو چاہیے کہ طلبا ء و طالبات کو اس عالمی مثابقتی دوڑ کے لیے تیار کریں۔ اس موقع پر اپنے خطاب میں انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ علم مسلمانوں کی عظیم میراث ہے اور برصغیر پاک وہند میں فروغ تعلیم کے لیے سر سید احمد خان کی جانب سے مسلم ایجوکیشن کانفرنس کا انعقاد اہم سنگ میل تھا۔ جامعہ اسلامیہ بہاول پور جو جامعہ الازہر کے ماڈل پر قائم کی گئی، اِسی عظیم علمی وراثت کا تسلسل ہے۔ قیام پاکستان کے فوری بعد قائد اعظم محمد علی جناح نے ایجوکیشن کانفرنس کا انعقاد کیا۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور قومی اہمیت کے اہم امور میں مشاورت کے لیے اسٹیک ہولڈرز کو ایک پلیٹ فارم پر جمع کر کے بحث ومباحثے کا موقع فراہم کرتی ہے اور وفاقی وزارت تعلیم کو اس چار روزہ مشاورتی اجلاس کی سفارشات بھیجی جائیں گی۔ وائس چانسلر چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینمل سائنسز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سجاد احمد خان نے کہا کہ تعلیم سمیت تمام شعبوں میں ترقی کے اہداف مقررکیے جائیں اور اس مقصد کے لیے ڈائیلاگ کلچر کو فروغ دیا جائے۔ فوکل پرسن پروفیسرڈاکٹر ارشاد حسین نے کہا کہ اس چار روزہ مشاورتی اجلا س میں بارہ جامعات سے وائس چانسلرز، سکول وکالجز کے سربراہان اور دینی مدارس کے اساتذہ نے شریک ہو کر قومی تعلیمی پالیسی کی تشکیل کے لیے بہت مفید اور قابل عمل تجاویز پیش کیں۔ ان تجاویز کو دستاویزی شکل میں وفاقی وزارت تعلیم کو بھیجا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے مشاورتی اجلاس میں تعاون پر انٹر یونیورسٹی کنسورشیم برائے ترقی وسماجی علوم کے کردار کو بھی سراہا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر فیض الحسن نسیم نے اپنے کلیدی خطاب میں 2020سے 2025تک کے لیے تعلیمی پالیسی کا خاکہ پیش کیا اور کہا کہ موجودہ تعلیمی نظام کو ازسر نوع ترتیب دینے کی ضرور ت ہے تاکہ تخلیقی صلاحیتوں کے حامل نوجوانوں کو تیار کیا جائے جو عالمی چیلنجز کا مقابلہ کریں۔ سینئر جرنلسٹ امین عباسی نے مشاورتی اجلاس میں مقامی سکولوں اور مدارس کے اساتذہ کی عملی شرکت اور مشاورت کو بہت اہم پیش رفت قرار دیا۔ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اختر علی نے مشاورتی اجلاس میں مندوبین کی شرکت کو سراہا اور شکریہ ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن تعلیمی نظام، نصاب اور تدریسی طریقہ کار کے حوالے سے قومی اور عالمی سیمینارز اور کانفرنسز منعقد کرواتی رہتی ہے اور موجودہ مشاورتی اجلاس اس سلسلے میں ایک مفید کوشش ثابت ہوئی ہے جس کا سہرا اساتذہ اور طلباء وطالبات کی علمی کاوشوں کے سر ہے۔
