HEC has launched e-courses on its policies on “Protection against Sexual Harassment in Higher Education Institutions

The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan has launched e-courses on its policies on “Protection against Sexual Harassment in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)” and “Policy for Students with Disabilities in HEIs” in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Women, and the Australian High Commission in Pakistan, to make Pakistani HEIs safer and more inclusive for students, faculty and administrative staff. The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) will host the e-courses that will promote awareness and outreach of these policies. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Prof. Dr. Ayub Jajja, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naheed, Dr. Shahzad Karim and Ms. Kalsoom Akhtar represented the Islamia University of Bahawalpur via Zoom meeting and elaborated the adoption and implementation of HEC Policies in the University under the supervision of Vice Chancellor Eng. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob.

ہائیر ایجوکیشن کمیشن پاکستان نے اقوام متحدہ کے ترقیاتی پروگرام کے تعاون سے ہائر ایجوکیشن اداروں میں جنسی ہراساں کرنے کے خلاف تحفظ ایچ ای آئی ایس اور معذور طلباء کے لئے پالیسی ایچ ای آئی سے متعلق اپنی پالیسیوں پر ای کورسز کا آغاز کیا ہے۔ یونائیٹڈ نیشنز ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام، اقوام متحدہ کی خواتین اور پاکستان میں آسٹریلیا ہائی کمیشن نے پاکستانی ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن کے طلبا، اساتذہ اور انتظامی عملے کو شامل کیا ہے۔ نیشنل اکیڈمی آف ہائر ایجوکیشن ان ای کورسز کی میزبانی کرے گی جو ان پالیسیوں کی آگاہی اور رسائی کو فروغ دیں گے۔  وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی نگرانی میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ایوب ججہ، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد ناہید، ڈاکٹر شہزاد کریم اور کلثوم اختر نے جامعہ اسلامیہ بہاولپور کی نمائندگی کی اور ایچ ای سی کی پالیسیاں اپنانے اور ان پر عمل درآمد کی وضاحت کی۔
