Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir has said that the country can be given a high position at the world level only by converting the workforce into human wealth. In this regard, the role of universities is key, which can transform unskilled people into professional workforce. Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir expressed these views while addressing a meeting of Deans, Directors and Principal Officers of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat in Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus this morning. He said that it is very gratifying that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is making progress in this direction under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Engr Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob and the achievements achieved at the teaching and research forum are worthy of imitation for all universities. Especially, the establishment of new departments in health, medical allied sciences, engineering and information technology and other issues and providing a large number of admissions for male and female students is a very good initiative. He said that he was very happy to visit the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and visited the historic Abbasia Campus of IUB and also visited the indisputable Solar Park in Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus. He said that he had the pleasure of visiting the College of Nursing, Business Management, Sports Facilities, Health Center and also Pharmacy and other departments in Khawaja Farid Campus. He said that the Baghdad ul Jadeed campus is undoubtedly the fulfillment of a dream and such a dream is a center of knowledge that quenches the thirst of knowledge for students living in the length and breadth of the country. Today in Islamia University Bahawalpur students from Gilgit-Baltistan to remote areas of Balochistan are engaged in teaching and research activities with local students. He said that the steps taken by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for national food self-sufficiency and restoration of agricultural economy are very welcome. In this regard, the initiation of a pilot project to increase rainfall in Cholistan is a good news, which can increase the national economy by 10 billion dollars. The University of Nursing College is a masterpiece of the Vice Chancellor's vision. Currently, there is a great need for nursing in the Middle East and Europe and there is a great demand for nursing in the country as well, which the Islamia University Bahawalpur has established a nursing college with modern facilities. He said that arts and social sciences are also very important for a balanced society and in this regard Islamia University Bahawalpur is making progress in social sciences, social services, new masters in College of Art and Design and all these are the best steps in this direction. He said that there is a need to start a faculty development program on a large basis in the three areas that the university is already making progress in this direction, and in this regard, the initiation of pedagogical training by the Faculty of Education is a welcome initiative. He said that there is a need to improve the question paper to test the ability of male and female students so that their memory as well as their ability and competence can also be evaluated. Similarly, he said that there is a need to create a center of excellence in artificial intelligence and the IT department of Islamia University Bahawalpur is providing high-level services in this regard, in which software such as recruitment, campus management and administrative management system in addition to the admission cell are very welcome. He also appreciated the development works of more than 12 billion rupees in Islamia University Bahawalpur and said that the university is currently spending its resources on projects that will have long-term and far-reaching results due to economic pressure. Which will play a very important role in the social and economic development of the area along with the university. He said that more than 65 thousand male and female students are an indication of the right direction of this university that the university is moving towards the goal of self-sufficiency. Along with this, attention is being paid to quality research and the inclusion of the university far ahead in the global research ranking is a clear proof of this. Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir administered the oath to the officials of the University Students' Society for the year 2023 and delivered the keynote speech at Khawaja Ghulam Farid Auditorium of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Renowned motivational speaker Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal also spoke on this occasion. Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission visited the furniture manufacturing unit at Islamia University Bahawalpur and appreciated the factory set up by the university to manufacture furniture. Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir also inaugurated the Soil and Environmental Microbiology Lab Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad (TI.,D.N.P) in Soil Sciences Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, IUB.

چیئر مین پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شاہد منیر نے کہا ہے کہ افرادی قوت کو افرادی دولت میں تبدیل کر کے ہی وطن عزیز کو عالمی سطح پر بلند مقام دلایا جا سکتا ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں یونیورسٹیوں کا کردار کلیدی ہے جوغیر ہنر مند افرادکو پیشہ ور افرادی قوت میں تبدیل کر سکتی ہیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شاہد منیر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار آج صبح بغداد الجدید کیمپس میں وائس چانسلر سیکریٹریٹ میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے ڈینز، ڈائریکٹرز اور پرنسپل آفیسرز کے اجلاس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ امر انتہائی خوش آئند ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی سربراہی میں اس طرف پیش قدمی کر رہی ہے اور تدریسی اور تحقیقی فورم پر جو کامیابیاں حاصل ہوئیں وہ تمام جامعات کے لئے قابل تقلید ہیں خصوصاً ہیلتھ میڈیکل الائیڈ سائنسز، انجینئرنگ وانفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی اور دیگر امور میں ہونے والے نئے شعبوں کا قیام اور طلباء وطالبات کے لئے کثیر تعداد میں داخلوں کی فراہمی بہت احسن اقدام ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ انہیں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا دورہ کر کے بہت خوشی ہوئی ہے اور انہوں نے جامعہ اسلامیہ کے تاریخی عباسیہ کیمپس کا دورہ کیا اور اس کے علاوہ بغداد الجدید کیمپس میں ناقابل تردید سولر پارک کا دورہ بھی کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ انہیں کالج آ ف نرسنگ، بزنس مینجمنٹ، کھیلوں کی سہولیات، ہیلتھ سنٹر اور اسکے علاوہ خواجہ فرید کیمپس میں فارمیسی اور دیگر شعبہ جات کا دورہ کر کے انتہائی خوشی حاصل ہوئی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بغداد الجدید کیمپس بلاشبہ ایک خواب کی تکمیل ہے اور ایسا خواب جو علم کا ایک ایسا مرکز ہو جو ملک کے طول وعرض میں رہنے والے طلباء وطالبات کے لئے علم کی پیاس بجھائے اور آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں گلگت بلتستان سے لے کر بلوچستان کے دور افتادہ علاقوں کے طلباء وطالبات مقامی طلباء وطالبات کے ساتھ مل کر تدریسی و تحقیقی سرگرمیوں میں مشغول ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور قومی خوراک کے حوالے سے خود کفالت اور زرعی معیشت کی بحالی کے لئے جو اقدامات کر رہی ہے انتہائی خوش آئند ہے۔ اس سلسلے میں چولستان میں بارشوں میں اضافے کے لئے پائلٹ پراجیکٹ کا آغاز خوشی کی خبر ہے جس سے قومی معیشت میں 10ارب ڈالر کا اضافہ ممکن ہو سکتا ہے۔ یونیورسٹی آف نرسنگ کالج وائس چانسلر کے ویژن کا بہترین شاہکار ہے۔ اس وقت مشرقِ وسطیٰ اور یورپ میں نرسنگ کی بہت ضرورت ہے اور اندرونِ ملک بھی نرسنگ کی بہت مانگ ہے جس کو اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے دیکھتے ہوئے اپنے ہاں ایک جدید سہولیات سے آراستہ نرسنگ کالج قائم کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ متوازن معاشرے کے لئے آرٹس اور سوشل سائنسز بھی بہت اہمیت کے حامل ہیں اور اس سلسلے میں سماجی علوم میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے پیش رفت کرتے ہوئے سماجی خدمات، کالج آف آرٹ اینڈ ڈیزائن میں نئے شاہکار اور یہ سارے اس جانب بہترین اقدام ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تین شعبوں میں یونیورسٹی نے جو پہلے سے ہی اس طرف پیش رفت جاری رکھے ہوئے ہے کام کرنے کی ضرورت ہے اس میں بڑی بنیادوں پر فیکلٹی ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام کا آغاز کیا جائے اور اس سلسلے میں فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن کی طرف سے پیڈا گوجیکل ٹریننگ کا آغاز خوش آئند اقدام ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سوالیہ پرچے میں طلباء وطالبات کی قابلیت جانچنے کے لئے بہتری لانے کی ضرورت ہے تاکہ ان کی یادداشت کے ساتھ ساتھ ان کی اہلیت اور قابلیت کا بھی جائزہ لیا جا سکے۔ اسی طرح انہوں نے کہا کہ آڑٹیفیشل انٹیلی جنس میں سنٹر آف ایکسی لینسی بنانے کی ضرورت ہے اور اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا شعبہ آئی ٹی اس سلسلے میں بہت اعلیٰ درجے کی خدمات دے رہا ہے جس میں ایڈمیشن سیل کے علاوہ ریکروٹمنٹ، کیمپس مینجمنٹ اور ایڈمنسٹریٹیو مینجمنٹ سسٹم جیسے سافٹ ویئربہت ہی خوش آئند ہیں۔ انہوں نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں 12 ارب روپے سے زائد کے ترقیاتی کاموں کو بھی سراہا اور کہا کہ یونیورسٹی اس وقت معاشی دباؤ کے باعث اپنے وسائل سے ان منصوبوں پر خرچ کر رہی ہے جو دیر پا اور دوررس نتائج کے حامل ہوں گے۔ جو یونیورسٹی کے ساتھ ساتھ اس علاقے کی سماجی اور معاشی ترقی میں بہت اہم کردار ادا کریں گے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ 65 ہزار سے زائد طلباء وطالبات اس یونیورسٹی کی صحیح سمت کی نشاندہی ہے کہ یونیورسٹی خود کفالت کی منزل کی جانب بڑھ رہی ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ کوالٹی ریسرچ پر بھی توجہ دی جا رہی ہے اور عالمی ریسرچ رینکنگ میں یونیورسٹی کا بہت آگے تک شامل ہونا اس بات کا واضح ثبوت ہے۔ چیئر مین پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شاہد منیر نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے خواجہ فرید آڈیٹوریم میں یونیورسٹی طلباء وطالبات کی سوسائٹی کے سال 2023 کے عہدیداروں سے حلف لیا اور کلیدی خطاب کیا۔ اس موقع پر نامور موٹیویشنل سپیکر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر جاوید اقبال نے بھی خطاب کیا۔ چیئر مین پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں فرنیچر مینوفیکچرنگ یونٹ کا دورہ کیا اور یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے فرنیچر بنانے کے لئے قائم فیکٹری کو بہت سراہا۔ چیئر مین پنجاب ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شاہد منیرشعبہ سوائل سائنسز فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ اینوائرمنٹ میں قائم لیب پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد ارشد (ٹی آئی ڈی این پی) سوائل اینڈ اینوائرمنٹل مائیکروبائیولوجی کا بھی افتتاح کیا۔
