The first International Conference on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Social Sciences (STEMS 2021) has started at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. This multi-thematic conference was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab, Lahore and Prof. Dr. Saiqa Imtiaz Asif, Vice Chancellor, Government Sadiq College, Women's University, Bahawalpur and Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain, President, ECO Science Foundation were the guests of honor on the occasion. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in his address said that the convening of the first multi-disciplinary International Conference at the University is a great achievement for which Dr. Abid Shehzad, Director International Links deserves congratulations. He said that the Muslim Ummah had access to all modern sciences in one era and thanks to it ruled the whole world. Even today, we have the best opportunity to access all modern sciences, including science and technology, and to lead the world as we have in the past, ensuring socio-economic development. He said that the  Islamia University of Bahawalpur is moving in this direction and in just a short span of two years, the university has attained the status of fourth generation university. Cotton varieties developed by the scientists of Jamia Islamia are being cultivated on 45% area of Punjab. The university will earn Rs.100 million annually from its sale and marketing. In the last two years, the faculty, researchers and students of the university have been engaged in their academic activities in a more conducive environment than the best and most conducive environment. The university is fast gaining prominence in the world rankings. Due to the popularity of its teaching programs, the enrollment has increased dramatically and the number of students has exceeded 45,000. The faculty has also increased from 500 to 1000 who are always engaged in teaching and research. The establishment of successive international conferences is a sign of Islamia University Bahawalpur becoming a world class university. Dr. Abid Shehzad, Conference Focal Person said that due to Covid-19, 9 sessions will be held on the first day after the inaugural function. More than 160 domestic and foreign delegates from Pharmacy, Engineering, Technology, Commerce, Business, Arts and Social Sciences, Conventional Medicine will discuss in hybrid and online sessions.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں پہلی بین الاقوامی سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی، انجینئرنگ، میتھمیٹکس اور سوشل سائنس کانفرنس کا آغاز ہو گیا ہے۔ اس کثیرالموضوعاتی کانفرنس کا افتتاح پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے کیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سلیم مظہر پرووائس چانسلریونیورسٹی آف پنجاب لاہور اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر صائقہ امتیاز آصف وائس چانسلر گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر منظور حسین،صدر ای سی او سائنس فاؤنڈیشن اس موقع پر مہمان اعزاز تھے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ جامعہ میں پہلی کثیرالموضوعاتی بین الاقوامی کانفرنس کا انعقاد ایک بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے جس کے لیے ڈاکٹر عابد شہزاد ڈائریکٹر انٹرنیشنل لنکجز مبارک باد کے مستحق ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ امت مسلمہ نے ایک دور میں تمام جدید علوم پر دسترس حاصل کی اور اس کی بدولت پوری دنیا پر حکمرانی کی۔ آج بھی ہمارے پاس بہترین موقع ہے کہ سائنس اور ٹیکنالوجی سمیت تمام جدید علوم پر دسترس حاصل کریں اور سماجی و معاشی ترقی کو یقینی بنا کر ماضی کی طرح دنیا کی رہنمائی کریں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اس جانب گامزن ہے اور صرف دو سال کے مختصر عرصے میں یونیورسٹی نے فورتھ جنریشن یونیورسٹی کا درجہ حاصل کر لیا ہے۔جامعہ اسلامیہ  کے سائنسدانوں کی تیار کردہ کپاس کی اقسام پنجاب کے 45 فیصد رقبے پر کاشت ہو رہی ہیں اور یونیورسٹی اس کی فروخت اور مارکیٹنگ سے سو ملین روپے سالانہ کی آمدن حاصل کریگی۔گزشتہ دو سال میں بہترین اور سازگار ماحول کی نسبت جامعہ کے اساتذہ محققین اور طلبہ و طالبات یکسو ہو کر اپنی تعلیمی سرگرمیوں میں مصروف ہیں۔ یونیورسٹی عالمی رینکنگ میں تیزی سے نمایاں مقام حاصل کر رہی ہے۔ اپنے تدریسی پروگراموں کے مقبولیت کے باعث داخلوں میں غیر معمولی اضافہ ہوا اورطلباء و طالبات کی تعداد 45 ہزار سے بڑھ چکی ہے۔ فیکلٹی بھی 500 سے بڑھ کر 1000 ہوگئی ہے جو تدریس اور تحقیق میں ہمہ وقت مصروف عمل ہیں۔ تسلسل سے بین الاقوامی کانفرنسز کا قیام اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی عالمی سطح کی یونیورسٹی بننے کی علامت ہے۔ڈاکٹر عابد شہزاد کانفرنس فوکل پرسن نے کہا کہ کووڈ 19 کے باعث پہلے دن ابتدائی تقریب کے بعد 9 سیشن منعقد کریں گے۔جن میں فیکلٹی آف سائنس، فارمیسی، انجینئرنگ، ٹیکنالوجی، کامرس، بزنس، آرٹس اور سوشل سائنس،کنوینشنل میڈیسن سے تعلق رکھنے والے 160 سے زائد ملکی اور غیرملکی مندوبین ہائبرڈ اور آن لائن سیشن میں تبادلہ خیال کریں گے۔
