Inaugural Ceremony of Newly Purchased Four Buses

Commissioner Bahawalpur Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal along with Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob today inaugurated four new buses at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Senior faculty members, officers, deans and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Commissioner Bahawalpur said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a historical and major university of the region and under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the university is developing on a very fast. Pace much attention is being paid to the quality of education in the university and the university holds a prominent position nationally and globally. He said that increasing the number of students from 13,000 to 37,000 and doubling the number of teachers was a great achievement which would prove to be a milestone in the field of higher education in the region. Commissioner Bahawalpur said that Islamia University Bahawalpur already has 58 buses which are providing services to students in all the campuses and now the addition of four buses will further improve the performance of the transport fleet. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that university transport fleet is not only providing transport facilities to students from Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar city but now these facilities have been increased for the students of Lodhran, Yazman, Ahmadpur East, Khanqah Sharif, Khairpur Tamiwali and Lal Sohanra and the students are being provided with comfortable and quality travel facility. Commissioner Bahawalpur highly appreciated the increase in travel facilities for male and female students and said that thanks to university transport, teachers, students and employees reach the university campuses on time and return to their homes, especially for nearby cities, a great facility. On the occasion, Principal Transport Officer Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hussain Tahir gave a briefing on University Transport Service and bus routes.

کمشنر بہاول پور کیپٹن ریٹائر ظفر اقبال نے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کے ہمراہ آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں چار نئی بسوں کا افتتاح کر دیا ہے۔ اس موقع پر سینئر فیکلٹی ممبران، افسران، ڈین اور بڑی تعداد میں طلباء وطالبات موجود تھے۔ کمشنر بہاول پور نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور خطے کی تاریخی اور بڑی یونیورسٹی ہے اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر کی سربراہی میں یونیورسٹی بہت تیزی سے ترقی کر رہی ہے۔ یونیورسٹی میں تعلیمی معیار پر بہت توجہ دی جا رہی ہے اور یونیورسٹی کچھ عرصے میں رینکنگ میں اعلیٰ مقام بنا چکی ہے اور قومی اور عالمی سطح پر ایک ممتاز مقام رکھتی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ طلباء وطالبات کی تعداد 13ہزار سے بڑھا کر 37ہزار کرنا اور اساتذہ کی تعداد دوگنا کر دینا ایک بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے جو اس خطے میں اعلیٰ تعلیم کے شعبے میں ایک سنگِ میل ثابت ہوگا۔ کمشنر بہاول پور نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں 58بسیں پہلے سے موجود ہیں جو کہ تمام کیمپسز میں طلباء وطالبات کی لیے خدمات سرانجام دے رہی ہیں اور اب چار بسوں کے اضافے سے ٹرانسپورٹ فلیٹ کی کارکردگی میں مزید بہتری ہو گی۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے بتایا کہ یونیورسٹی ٹرانسپورٹ فلیٹ نہ صرف بہاول پور، رحیم یار خان، بہاولنگر شہر سے طلباء وطالبات کو سفری سہولیات میسر کر رہا ہے بلکہ اب لودھراں، یزمان، احمد پور شرقیہ، خانقاہ شریف، خیر پور ٹامیوالی اورلال سوہانرا کے طلباء وطالبات کے لیے ان سہولتوں میں اضافہ ہوا ہے اور طلباء آرام دہ اور معیاری سفری سہولت سے محضوظ ہو رہے ہیں۔ کمشنر بہاول پور نے طلباء وطالبات کے لیے سفری سہولت کے اضافے کو بہت سراہا اور کہا کہ یونیورسٹی ٹرانسپورٹ کی  بدولت اساتذہ، طلباء اور ملازمین بروقت یونیورسٹی کیمپسز پہنچتے ہیں اور واپس اپنے گھروں کو جاتے ہیں اور خاص طور پر نزدیکی شہروں کے لیے یہ ٹرانسپورٹ سروس ایک بہت بڑی سہولت ہے۔ اس موقع پر پرنسپل ٹرانسپورٹ آفیسر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد حسین طاہر نے یونیورسٹی ٹرانسپورٹ سروس اور بسوں کے روٹس سے متعلق بریفنگ دی۔
