Inauguration of 8th International Conference "Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security" of PPS at IUB

Bahawalpur (P) Department of Plant Pathology, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with Pakistan Phytopathological Society and Australian Center for International Agricultural Research the 8th International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, Baghdad ul-Jadeed Campus the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has started. The conference continued from November 26 to November 28. Inaugurating the conference, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar welcomed the distinguished guests and expressed the importance and need of the conference. Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, appreciated the arrival of the delegates in the conference and spoke about the effects of climate change in the agriculture sector. The focal person of the conference, Prof. Dr. Naveed Aslam Malghani, said that 530 scientists, teachers, researchers and experts from America, China, Turkey, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have registered for the conference. The theme of this year's conference is "Sustainable agriculture and food security, the nexus of plant pathogens, climate change and water challenges''. Participants addressed the topic of sustainable agriculture and food security with special relevance to plant pathogens, climate change and water challenges. Many famous domestic and foreign speakers participated in the conference. On the second day of the conference, Prof. Dr. Tariq Mukhtar, President of Pakistan Phytopathological Society, Prof. Dr. Hongwei Zhao, Department of Plant Protection, Nanjing Agricultural University, China, Mr. Maxiayoan Department of Plant Protection, Nanjing Agricultural University, China, Mr. Kaleem Afzal Corteva Agriscience, Mr. Manzoor Hussain Soomra, President ECO Science Foundation Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri, Vice Chancellor Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Vice Chancellor PMS Arid University Rawalpindi, Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Qureshi Vice Chancellor Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur gave a detailed speech. More than 430 papers were presented in the conference. This conference is very important for agriculture and provides an opportunity for the people involved in agriculture to meet and discuss the latest trends in crop and disease prevention, use of technology and experts. The conference includes 3 days of interactive learning sessions covering diverse topics related to diseases of fruits, vegetables and field crops keeping in view the needs of sustainable agriculture and food security. The focal person further said that 60 delegates will be mentored to ensure the participation of young scientists especially PhDs in the conference so that they can participate in this mega academic event without any financial problems. Prof. Dr. Naveed Aslam Malghani has thanked Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar and Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environment Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi for their special patronage and guidance in organizing the conference. A large number of officers, faculty members and students participated in the conference.

بہاول پور (پ) شعبہ پلانٹ پیتھالوجی، فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ انوائرمنٹ، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور، پاکستان فائٹو پیتھولوجیکل سوسائٹی اور آسٹریلین سنٹر فار انٹرنیشنل ایگریکلچر ریسرچ کے اشتراک سے 8 ویں بین الاقوامی کانفرنس برائے پائیدار زراعت اور خوراک کی حفاظت بغداد الجدید کیمپس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا آغاز ہوگیا۔ کانفرنس 26 نومبر سے 28 نومبر تک جاری رہے گئی۔ کانفرنس کا افتتاح کرتے ہوئے وائس چانسلراسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے معزز مہمانوں کو خوش آمدید کہا اور کانفرنس کی اہمیت اور ضرورت پر اظہار خیال کیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین ترابی ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ اینوائرمنٹ نے کانفرنس میں مندوبین کی آمد کو سراہا اور زراعت کے شعبے میں ہونے والی موسمی تبدیلیوں کے اثرات کے بارے میں اظہار خیال کیا۔ کانفرنس کے فوکل پرسن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اسلم ملغانی نے بتایا کہ کانفرنس کے لیے 530 سائنسدانوں، اساتذہ محققین اور ماہرین نے رجسٹریشن کرائی ہے جن کاتعلق امریکہ، چین، ترکی، اٹلی، سعودی عرب اور پاکستان سے ہے۔ اس سال کانفرنس کا موضوع ''پائیدار زراعت اور خوراک کی حفاظت، پودوں کے پیتھوجینز کا گٹھ جوڑ، موسمیاتی تبدیلی اور پانی کے چیلنجز'' ہے۔ پودوں کے پیتھوجینز، موسمیاتی تبدیلی اور پانی کے چیلنجوں سے خصوصی مطابقت کے ساتھ پائیدار زراعت اور خوراک کی حفاظت کے موضوع پر شرکاء نے اظہار خیا ل کیا۔ کانفرنس میں کئی نامور ملکی اور غیر ملکی مقررین شریک ہیں۔ کانفرنس کے دوسرے روز پروفیسر ڈاکٹر طارق مختار صدر پاکستان فائٹوپیتھولوجیکل سوسائٹی، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ہونگ وی زاؤ ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف پلانٹ پروٹیکشن نانجنگ زرعی یونیورسٹی چین، میکسیان ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف پلانٹ پروٹیکشن نانجنگ زرعی یونیورسٹی چین، کلیم افضل کورٹیوازرعی سائنس، منظور حسین سومروصدر ای سی او سائنس فاؤنڈیشن اسلام آباد، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر فتح محمد مری، وائس چانسلر سندھ ایگریکلچر یونیورسٹی، ٹنڈو جام، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد نعیم، وائس چانسلر پی ایم ایس ایرڈ یونیورسٹی راولپنڈی، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اشفاق احمد قریشی وائس چانسلر گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے تفصیلی خطاب کیا۔ کانفرنس میں 430 سے زائد مقالے جات پیش کیے جائیں گئے۔ یہ کانفرنس زراعت کے لیے بہت اہم ہے اور فصلوں اور بیماریوں کی روک تھام کے جدید رجحانات، ٹیکنالوجی کے استعمال اور زراعت سے وابستہ افراد کو ماہرین سے ملنے اور بات کرنے کا موقع فراہم کرے گا۔ کانفرنس میں پائیدار زراعت اور غذائی تحفظ کی ضروریات کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے پھلوں، سبزیوں اور کھیت کی فصلوں کی بیماریوں سے متعلق متنوع موضوعات کا احاطہ کرنے والے 3 روزہ انٹرایکٹو لرننگ سیشنز شامل ہیں۔ فوکل پرسن نے مزید کہا کہ کانفرنس میں نوجوان سائنسدانوں خصوصا پی ایچ ڈیز کی شرکت یقینی بنانے کیلئے 60 مندوبین کو مشاہرہ فراہم کیا جائیگا تاکہ وہ بغیر کسی مالی دشواری اس میگا اکیڈمک ایونٹ میں شرکت کریں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اسلم ملغانی نے کانفرنس کے انعقاد میں خصوصی سرپرستی اور رہنمائی پر وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر اور ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایگریکلچر اینڈ اینوائرمنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر تنویر حسین ترابی کا شکریہ ادا کیا ہے۔کانفرنس میں افسران، فیکلٹی ممبران اور طلباء وطالبات کی کثیر تعداد نے شرکت کی۔
