Innovative Agricultural Practices: Islamia University of Bahawalpur Collaboration with WWF Pakistan

A research team of the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) has successfully secured a competitive consultancy from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Pakistan. The consultancy aims to enhance the skills of field staff to increase agricultural productivity using alternative methods of synthetic fertilizers and 4R nutrients and promote sustainable agricultural practices. The team from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is led by Prof. Dr. Maqshoof Ahmed and other members include Dr. Azhar Hussain, Dr. Hafiz Tanveer Ahmed and Dr. Abu Bakar Dar from the Department of Soil Science. The project is designed to equip field staff in different districts of Punjab and Sindh with the knowledge and skills to implement alternative fertilization techniques and effective nutrient management strategies. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran has appreciated the initiative of ORIC and appreciated the efforts of Director ORIC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif and the research team. The Vice Chancellor termed this achievement A booster to increase the income sources of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and enhance the capacity of the faculty. He added that the initiative is a reflection of the growing interest and success of the faculty in achieving effective research-based advisory projects and the emerging role of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in promoting agricultural innovations.

بہاولپور (پ ر) آفس آف ریسرچ انوویشن اور کمرشلائزیشن (اورک) اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی کاوشوں سے فیکلٹی ممبران کی ایک ٹیم نے ورلڈ وائلڈ لائف فنڈ (WWF) پاکستان سے ایک مسابقتی کنسلٹنسی کامیابی سے حاصل کی ہے۔ اس کنسلٹنسی کا مقصد مصنوعی کھادوں اور 4R غذائی اجزاء کے متبادل طریقوں کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے زرعی پیداوار بڑھانے کیلئے فیلڈ اسٹاف کی مہارت میں اضافے اور پائیدار زرعی طریقوں کا فروغ ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی ٹیم کی قیادت پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مکشوف احمد کررہے ہیں اور دیگر ارکان میں ڈاکٹر اظہر حسین، ڈاکٹر حافظ تنویر احمد اور ڈاکٹر ابوبکر ڈار شعبہ سوائل سائنس شامل ہیں۔ اس پراجیکٹ کو پنجاب اور سندھ کے مختلف اضلاع میں فیلڈ سٹاف کو متبادل کھاد ڈالنے کی تکنیکوں اور موثر غذائیت کے انتظام کی حکمت عملیوں کو نافذ کرنے کے لیے علم اور مہارت سے آراستہ کرنے کے لیے ڈیزائن کیا گیا ہے۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے اورک کے اس اقدام کو سراہتے ہوئے ڈائریکٹر اورک پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد عاطف اور ریسرچ ٹیم کی کاوشوں کو سراہا ہے۔ یہ کامیابی اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے ذرائع آمدنی میں اضافے اور فیکلٹی کی استعداد کار میں اضافے کا سبب بنے گی۔ یہ اقدام مؤثر تحقیق پر مبنی مشاورتی منصوبوں کے حصول میں فیکلٹی کی بڑھتی ہوئی دلچسپی اور کامیابی اور زرعی اختراعات کو فروغ دینے میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے ابھرتے ہوئے کردار کا مظہر ہے۔
