1st International Conference on Interdisciplinary Approach in Social Sciences (ICoIASS) ended at Video Conference Room, Main Auditorium, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Conference Chair and Dean Faculty of Social Science, IUB, presided over the concluding the session. On second day Dr. Naresh Agarwal, Associate Professor, Simmons University USA, in his keynote address talked about the "Research directions: Bridging the Boundaries of Disciplines." Distinguished keynote speaker Dr. Omair Shafiq, Associate Professor, Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada discussed "Modelling User Behavior and Predicting User Intention: An Interdisciplinary Perspective". Four scientific sessions were held on the second day of conference.  Prof. Dr. Nazir Hussain Former Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Abdul Wajid Khan, Chairman Department of Media & Communication Studies, Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman Department of Social Work, and Prof. Dr. Syed Mussawar Hussain Bukhari, Chairman Department of Political Science The Islamia University of Bahawalpur chaired the scientific sessions respectively. Dr. Shakil Akhtar, Conference Coordinator and Assistant Professor Political Science, Dr. Bilal Bhatti, Associate Lecturer Media Studies, Mr. Muhammad Aftab, Assistant Professor Social Work, Ms. Zahra Zafar, Lecturer International Relations, and Dr. Safdar Hussain, Assistant Professor Political Science, IUB moderated the sessions. Dr. Salman Bin Naeem, Conference Secretary and Associate Professor Library and Information Science, presented the summary of conference proceedings at the end of the conference. He was of the view that the Conference has successfully promoted the agenda of interdisciplinary research and this year's conference theme "Response to COVID-19 a Social Sciences Perspective" has helped to understand implications of COVID-19 for society from the perspective of different social science disciplines. By and large majority of conference participants agreed that social problems such as COVID-19 are not only complex but also multifaceted therefore a holistic, interdisciplinary and collaborative approach is required to address those problems. A large number of national and international students, researchers and faculty members from various universities participated in the conference. At the end of the conference, Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Conference Chair and Dean Faculty of Social Science, IUB acknowledged the guidance and support of the Conference Patron-in-Chief Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor of the IUB. She thanked university management, members of the steering committee, faculty and students of all collaborating departments of Social Science Faculty, conference organizing team, keynote and distinguished invited guest speakers, presenters and conference participants for making the conference a success.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور شعبہ سوشل سائنسز میں پہلی کانفرنس Interdisciplinary Approach in Social Sciences اختتام پذیر ہو گئی۔ مرکزی آڈیٹوریم میں ہونے والی اختتامی تقریب میں خطاب کرتے ہوئے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی، کانفرنس کی چیئر اور ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنس نے کہا کہ کانفرنس میں شریک ملکی اور غیر ملکی مندوبین نے سوشل سائنسز، کرونا وبا اور کثیر الموضاعاتی امور پر گفتگو کی۔ انہوں نے کانفرنس کے انعقاد پر خصوصی سرپرستی پر وائس چانسلر انجینئر پرفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ کینیڈاکے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عمیر شفیق نے سماجی علوم میں ہونے والی تحقیق کے نئے رجحانات پر گفتگو کی۔ قائداعظم یونیورسٹی کے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نذیر حسین، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے سینئر اساتذہ پروفیسرڈاکٹر عبدالوجد خان، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مصور حسین بخاری، ڈاکٹر بلال بھٹی، زہرہ ظفر، ڈاکٹر صفدر حسین، ڈاکٹر سلمان بن نعیم،ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر رانا اعجاز،اور ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا نے کانفرنس کے انعقاد میں فعال کردار ادا کیا اور علمی مباحثوں کے انعقاد کو یقینی بنایا۔ کانفرنس کا اہم موضوع کرونا وبا کے دوران سماجی علوم میں پیش آنے والے نئے تحقیقی موضوعات اور ان کے معاشرے پر اثرات کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔
