The first International Conference on Research in Special Education at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was attended by eminent domestic and foreign educators. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob Vice Chancellor in his inaugural address said that education is a basic need of every human being. The field of special education is gaining worldwide attention due to its importance. The talents of these students are no less than those of ordinary people. It is a matter of great pleasure that a conference on this subject was held at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and experts from all over the world participated in it. He said that our students are playing a significant role in every field of mental and physical compulsion without any discrimination. There is a need for experts to come together in a forum and highlight new research aspects in the education of special education specialists. A Center for Assistance Technologies will be set up at the university. The center for special students will also be guided by special people. Special guest Nazir Ahmad Khan, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Special Education said that the steps taken by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in the field of special education are commendable. He said that more work needs to be done for special education and Chief Minister Punjab Usman Ahmed Khan Buzdar has a special interest in the field of special education. In this regard, the Punjab government has taken many welfare measures and allocated funds. He said that special people are not inferior in any way, they have all kinds of abilities and these people are making their name in every field. Prof. Dr. Akhtar Ali, Dean, Faculty of Education, said that with this platform, we have brought together people associated with special education. It is the only institution in South Punjab in which many steps have been taken for special education. At present more than 400 special students are studying. In addition, the research program will be improved in the future and we will start a PhD program like this. Former Dean and Educationist Dr. Aslam Adib said that there is a lot of work to be done in the field of special education. He suggested that a committee of teachers be formed in the fields of education, special education, social work and psychology to work out a new curriculum for special persons. Prof. Dr. Abdul Jameed, Punjab University, Lahore said that it is a great pleasure to hold a conference on the subject of special education at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur today. He appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Nasreen Akhtar and said that this conference has started the improvement in the field of special education and this sector will go further and we will do whatever help is needed from us. The focal person of the conference, Prof. Dr. Nasreen Akhtar said that the conference is being held under the auspices of Research in Special Education in which delegates from different countries are participating. According to the vision of Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, a Center for Assistance Technologies will be set up in which special education teachers will be trained. She said that at present students are studying in BS special education. We are trying our best to launch MS, M.Phil and Ph.D programs in special education in the future. She thanked the local and foreign delegates for attending the conference. On the second day of the conference, keynote speakers and themes included Dr. Humaira Bano from Punjab University Lahore, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed University of Management and Technology, Dr. Shagufta Shahzadi University of Karachi, Dr. Cristapollo Australia, Dr. Rania Romulus Greece, Dr. Monatman Egypt, Dr. Khalid Khurshid Bahauddin Zakaria University Multan has made changes in the field of special education and quality education, education for all, problems and opportunities for youth, skills education, special education curriculum, challenges facing special education during the Corona epidemic, slow learners. Important such as teaching facilities, favorable environment for persons with disabilities in universities, ethics in special education, legislation for special education, modern classrooms for special education, role of technology in special education, technical and vocational education for special persons. Topics were discussed and guest of honor Saleem Mansoor delivered a special address. Vice Chancellor Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob distributed shields and certificates among the delegates participating in the conference. The focal person of the conference, Prof. Dr. Nasreen Akhtar said in the closing session that this conference was very important in terms of its theme and social needs. Domestic and foreign experts discussed the challenges facing the education and training of special people. Their useful feedback will be published in book form and sent to national and international organizations so that policy makers realize the importance of this important and sensitive topic and together we can better arrange education and training of special people. So that they can be part of the collective good as useful citizens.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں خصوصی افراد کی تعلیم میں تحقیق کے موضوع پر پہلی بین الاقوامی کانفرنس میں نامور ملکی اور غیرملکی ماہرن تعلیم نے شرکت کی۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر نے افتتاحی خطاب میں کہاکہ تعلیم ہر انسان کی بنیادی ضرورت ہے۔ سپیشل ایجوکیشن کا شعبہ اپنی اہمیت کے لحاظ سے پوری دنیا میں توجہ حاصل کر رہا ہے۔ ان طلباء وطالبات کی صلاحتیں عام افراد سے کسی طور پر کم نہیں ہے۔ یہ امر باعث مسرت ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں اس موضوع پر کانفرنس کا انعقاد ہو ا اور دنیا بھر سے ماہرین اس میں شریک ہوئے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمارے طلباء و طالبات بلاتفریق کسی ذہنی اور جسمانی مجبوری کے ہر شعبہ میں نمایاں کردار ادا کر رہے ہیں۔ اعلیٰ ترین ٹیکنالوجیز ہوں یا کھیلوں کے میدان سپیشل افراد نے پاکستان کا نام روشن کیا ہے۔ ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ ماہرین ایک فورم پر اکٹھے ہوں اور سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے خصوصی افراد کی تعلیم میں نئے تحقیقی پہلوؤں کا اجاگر کریں۔ یونیورسٹی میں سنٹر فار اسسٹنس ٹیکنالوجیز قائم کیا جائے گا۔ سپیشل سٹوڈنٹس کے لیے قائم سنٹر کی رہنمائی بھی سپیشل افراد کریں گے۔مہمان خصوصی نذیر احمد خان صوبائی پارلیمانی سیکریٹری برائے سپیشل ایجوکیشن نے کہا کہ سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے شعبے میں جس طرح اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے اقدامات کیے ہیں وہ قابل تعریف ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے لیے مزید کام کرنے کی ضرورت ہے اور وزیر اعلیٰ پنجاب عثمان احمد خان بزدار سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے شعبے میں خصوصی دلچسپی رکھتے ہیں۔ اس سلسلے میں حکومت پنجاب نے بہت سے فلاحی اقدامات کیے ہیں اور فنڈز مختص کیے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ سپیشل افراد کسی بھی طرح کم نہیں ہیں ان میں ہر طرح کی حلاحیتیں ہیں اور یہ لوگ ہر شعبے میں اپنا نام بنا رہے ہیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اختر علی ڈین فیکلٹی آف ایجوکیشن نے کہا کہ اس پلیٹ فارم سے ہم سپیشل ایجوکیشن سے وابستہ افراد کو ایک جگہ پرلے آئے ہیں۔ جنوبی پنجاب میں یہ واحد ادارہ ہے جس میں سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے لیے بہت سے اقدامات کیے گئے ہیں۔ اس وقت 400سے زائد سپیشل طلباء وطالبات زیر تعلیم ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ مستقبل میں ریسرچ پروگرام میں بہتری لائی جا سکے گی اور ہم اس جیسے پی ایچ ڈی پروگرام کا آغاز کریں گے۔سابق ڈین اور ماہر تعلیم ڈاکٹر اسلم ادیب نے کہاکہ سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے شعبے میں ابھی کام کی بہت گنجائش ہے۔ انہوں نے تجویز پیش کی کہ ایجوکیشن، سپیشل ایجوکیشن، سوشل ورک اور شعبہ نفسیات کے شعبوں میں اساتذہ کی ایک کمیٹی بنا ئے جائے جو سپیشل افراد کے لیے نئے نصاب کی تشکیل کا کام سرانجام دیں۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالجمید، پنجاب یونیورسٹی لاہور نے کہا کہ بہت خوشی محسوس ہور ہی ہے کہ آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے موضوع پر کانفرنس کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ انہوں نے پروفیسرڈاکٹر نسرین اخترکے اقدامات کو سراہا کہ انہوں نے کہا کہ اس کانفرنس نے ذریعے سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے شعبے میں بہتری کا آغاز ہو گیا ہے اور یہ شعبہ مزید آگے بڑھے گا اور ہماری طرف سے جو بھی مدد درکار ہو گی ہم ضرور کریں گے۔ کانفرنس کی فوکل پرسن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نسرین اخترنے کہا کہ ریسرچ ان سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے تحت کانفرنس ہو رہی ہے جس میں مختلف ممالک کے مندوبین اس کانفرنس میں شر یک ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں شعبہ سپیشل ایجوکیشن وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کے ویژن کے مطابق سنٹر فار اسسٹنس ٹیکنالوجیزقائم کریں گے جس میں سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے اساتذہ کی تربیت کی جائے گی۔ انہوں نے کہا ابھی بی ایس سپیشل ایجوکیشن میں طلباء وطالبات زیر تعلیم ہیں۔ ہماری پوری کوشش ہے کہ مستقبل میں سپیشل ایجوکیشن میں ایم ایس، ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی پروگرام کا آغاز کیا جائے۔انہوں نے کانفرنس میں آئے ہوئے ملکی اور غیرملکی مندوبین کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ کانفرنس کے دوسرے روزکانفرنس کے اہم مقررین اور موضوعات میں ڈاکٹر حمیرا بانو پنجاب یونیورسٹی لاہور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالحمید یونیورسٹی آف مینجمنٹ اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی، ڈاکٹر شگفتہ شہزادی یونیورسٹی آف کراچی، ڈاکٹر کریسٹاپولوآسٹریلیا، ڈاکٹر رانیہ رمولس یونان، ڈاکٹر موناتمن مصر، ڈاکٹر خالد خورشید بہاء الدین زکریا یونیورسٹی ملتان نے سپیشل ایجوکیشن میں دورے حاضر میں ہونے والی تبدیلیوں اور کوالٹی ایجوکیشن، تعلیم سبھی کے لیے، مسائل اور مواقعے نوجوانوں کے لیے ہنرمندی کی تعلیم، سپیشل ایجوکیشن نصاب، کرونا وباء کے دوران سپیشل ایجوکیشن کو درپیش چیلنجز، آہستہ سیکھنے والوں کے لیے تدریسی سہولیات، جامعات میں معذور افراد کے لیے سازگار ماحول، سپیشل ایجوکیشن میں اخلاقیات، سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے لیے قانون سازی، سپیشل ایجوکیشن کے لیے جدید کلاس رومز، سپیشل ایجوکیشن میں ٹیکنالوجی کا کردار، سپیشل افراد کے لیے تکنیکی اور ویکیشنل ایجوکیشن  جیسے اہم موضوعات پر گفتگو کی اور مہمان عزاز سلیم منصور نے خصوصی خطاب کیا۔ وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کانفرنس میں شریک مندوبین میں شیلڈ زاور اسناد تقیسم کیں۔ کانفرنس کی فوکل پرسن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نسرین اختر نے اختتامی سیشن میں کہاکہ اپنے موضوع اور معاشرتی ضرویات کے اعتبار سے یہ کانفرنس نہایت اہم  تھی۔ ملکی اور غیر ملکی ماہرین نے خصوصی افراد کی تعلیم و تربیت کے لیے درپیش چیلنجز پر سیر حاصل گفتگو کی۔ ان کی مفید آراء کو کتابی شکل میں شائع کیا جائے گا اورقو می اور عالمی اداروں کو بھیجا جائے گا تاکہ پالیسی سازوں کو اس اہم اور حساس موضوع کی اہمیت کا احسا س اور ہم سب مل کر خصوصی افراد کی تعلیم اور تربیت کا بہتر بندوبست کر سکیں تاکہ وہ مفید شہری کے طور پر اجتماعی بھلائی کا حصہ بنیں۔
