International Women’s Day 2025: A One-Day Symposium on Women’s Entrepreneurship and Financial Independence

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor, successfully hosted a One-Day International Symposium on Financial Independence for Women and Entrepreneurship following the celebration of International Women’s Day 2025. The symposium was jointly organized by the SDGs Collaboration Center, Fatima Jinnah Women Leadership Center, and the Directorate of Outreach, Communication, and Public Relations, and was chaired by Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences and focal person for the celebrations of International Women's Day 2025 at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The symposium brought together scholars, industry experts, and researchers to discuss strategies for empowering women through financial independence, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation. Dr. Mariam Abbas Soharwardi, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, and Additional Director, SDGs Collaboration Center (Focal Person), moderated the event, emphasizing its role in advancing women's economic empowerment, while Fatima Muzahir, Deputy Registrar, Directorate of Outreach, Communication, and Public Relation, highlighted the significance of International Women’s Day and upcoming events dedicated to women's empowerment. The keynote speakers included Prof. Dr. Murniati Mukhlisin Tazkia University, Indonesia presented Skinah Finance Goes to Pakistan, discussing Islamic financial models for women's economic empowerment, Dr. Nurul Ilyana Muhd Adnan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, who spoke on Financial Independence of Women in Islam, emphasizing Islamic finance in ensuring women's financial security and Engr. Mahmut Ince Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China discussed The Role of IT in Women’s Financial Independence, exploring Fin-Tech and digital innovations in creating new economic opportunities for women. The symposium was attended by Dr. Fatima Mazhar and Dr. Rukhsan Rasheed from Govt. Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Salman Bin Neam, Director, SDGs Collaboration Center, Dr. Mah-e-Bushra, Information Management, Dr. Sheikh Safeena Sidiq, Director Women Healthcare Centre and Maternity Home, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad, Information Management, Dr. Maryam Iftikhar, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Dr. Mehnaz Ali Khan, Economics, along with a large number of faculty members and students, of IUB, who physically and online attended the event. Concluding the event, Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti underscored the need for inclusive financial systems, entrepreneurship support, and digital transformation to foster women's economic independence. The symposium served as a dynamic platform for thought leaders to exchange insights on enhancing women’s access to financial resources, entrepreneurship opportunities, and digital finance solutions, aligning with the global Sustainable Development Goals.
 

بہاولپور (پ ر) وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران کی قیادت میں خواتین کے عالمی دن 2025 کی تقریبات کے سلسلے میں خواتین کی مالی آزادی اور کاروباری شخصیت کے موضوع پر ایک روزہ بین الاقوامی سمپوزیم منعقد کیا گیا۔ سمپوزیم کا اہتمام SDGs کولیبریشن سنٹر، فاطمہ جناح ویمن لیڈرشپ سنٹر، اور ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف آؤٹ ریچ، کمیونیکیشن، اور پبلک ریلیشنز نے مشترکہ طور پر کیا۔ تقریب کی صدارت پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی، ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز نے کی۔ سمپوزیم میں اسکالرز، صنعت کے ماہرین، اور محققین کو اکٹھا کیا تاکہ مالی آزادی، انٹرپرینیورشپ، اور ڈیجیٹل تبدیلی کے ذریعے خواتین کو بااختیار بنانے کی حکمت عملیوں پر تبادلہ خیال کیا جا سکے۔ ڈاکٹر مریم عباس سہروردی، ایسوسی ایٹ پروفیسر، شعبہ اقتصادیات، اور ایڈیشنل ڈائریکٹر، SDGs کولیبریشن سنٹرنے تقریب کی نظامت کی، خواتین کی معاشی بااختیار بنانے میں اس کے کردار پر زور دیا، جبکہ فاطمہ مظاہر، ڈپٹی رجسٹرار، ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف آؤٹ ریچ، کمیونیکیشن، اور خواتین کے عالمی دن کے حوالے سے ہونے والی تقریبات پر روشنی ڈالی۔ کلیدی مقررین میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر مرنیاتی مخلصین تزکیہ یونیورسٹی، انڈونیشیا، جنہوں نے سکینہ فنانس گوز ٹو پاکستان پیش کیا، خواتین کی اقتصادی بااختیار بنانے کے لیے اسلامی مالیاتی ماڈلز پر تبادلہ خیال کیا، ڈاکٹر نور الالیانہ محد عدنان یونیورسٹی کبنگسان ملائیشیا، جنہوں نے اسلام میں خواتین کی مالی آزادی، اسلام میں خواتین کی مالیاتی آزادی اور تحفظ اسلام میں خواتین کی مالی آزادی پر بات کی۔ محموت اینس ہوازونگ یونیورسٹی آف سائنس اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی چین نے خواتین کی مالی آزادی میں انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کے کردار پر تبادلہ خیال کیا، خواتین کے لیے نئے معاشی مواقع پیدا کرنے میں Fin-Tech اور ڈیجیٹل اختراعات کی تلاش کی۔ تقریب کے اختتام پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی نے خواتین کی معاشی آزادی کو فروغ دینے کے لیے جامع مالیاتی نظام، انٹرپرینیورشپ سپورٹ، اور ڈیجیٹل تبدیلی کی ضرورت پر زور دیا۔ سمپوزیم میں عالمی پائیدار ترقی کے اہداف کے مطابق خواتین کی مالی وسائل تک رسائی، انٹرپرینیورشپ کے مواقع، اور ڈیجیٹل فنانس حل تک بصیرت کا تبادلہ کرنے کے لیے سوچنے والے رہنماؤں کے لیے ایک متحرک پلیٹ فارم کے طور پر کام کیا۔
