IUB conducted a seminar and exhibition of projects on "Women in Tech" on the occasion of International Women's Day 2025

The Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computing, successfully organized a grand seminar and project exhibition on Women in Tech, Bridging the Gender Gap, and Driving Innovation in celebration of International Women’s Day 2025. The event gatheredindustry leaders, tech professionals, students, and aspiring women intechnology to discuss challenges, opportunities, and strategies for fosteringgender inclusivity in the tech sector. Dr. Humera Arshad, Chairperson of theDepartment of Computer Science, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests andaudience. She reaffirmed the department’s commitment to building an inclusiveand diverse tech industry and expressed enthusiasm for hosting more initiativesaimed at empowering women in technology. The seminar featured an impressive lineup of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking sessions, with distinguished speakers including Mamoona Shuja, CEO Code Lab, Toquir Ahmed, CEO Enigmatix; Sohaib Arshad, Director Corvit; Amber Tanseer, Social Activist; Vinash Madan, MD Inno Skills, Sumaira Saleha, Principal Govt. College Satellitetown Bahawalpur; Prof. Dr. Areeba Kahan, Chairperson, Department of Banking and Finance; and Raheel Saleem, CEO Code Lab. These esteemed speakers shared invaluableinsights on overcoming gender barriers in the tech industry, career advancementstrategies for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, therole of mentorship and leadership, emerging technologies in microfinance, andfuture trends shaping the technology sector. A key highlight of the event wasthe inspiring success stories shared by the Islamia University of Bahawalpurfemale alumni and students. They spoke about their journeys in the techindustry, the challenges they faced, and how they navigated their careers toachieve success. Their stories served as motivation for aspiring women intechnology. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Chairperson of the Committee, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, Our goal is to inspire and support women in technology by providing resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Events like these arecrucial for driving diversity and innovation in the industry. Additionally,Prof. Dr. Sofia Farrukh, Principal of Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, highlightedthe transformative role of technology in women’s lives, particularly in thefield of medicine. The seminar concluded with an engaging Q&A session and a networking event, providing participants with the opportunity to connect with industry experts and peers in a collaborative environment. بہاولپور (پ ر) شعبہ کمپیوٹر سائنس فیکلٹی آف کمپیوٹنگ نے خواتین کے عالمی دن 2025 کے موقع پر ٹیک میں خواتین، صنفی تفاوت کے خاتمے اور ڈرائیونگ انوویشن پر ایک سیمینار اور پراجیکٹس کی نمائش کا انعقاد کیا۔ اس تقریب میں صنعت کاروں، تکنیکی پیشہ ور افراد، طالب علموں اور ٹیکنالوجی کی خواہشمند خواتین کو جمع کیا گیا تاکہ وہ ٹیکنالوجی کے شعبوں میں چیلنجوں اور مواقعوں کے بارے میں تبادلہ خیال کریں۔ شعبہ کمپیوٹر سائنس کی چیئرپرسن ڈاکٹر حمیرا ارشد نے معزز مہمانوں اور سامعین کا پرتپاک استقبال کیا۔ انہوں نے ایک جامع اور متنوع ٹیک انڈسٹری کی تعمیر کے لیے شعبے کے عزم کا اعادہ کیا اور ٹیکنالوجی میں خواتین کو بااختیار بنانے کے لیے مزید اقدامات پر زور دیا۔ سیمینار میں کلیدی تقاریر، پینل ڈسکشنز اور نیٹ ورکنگ سیشنز منعقد کئے گئے جن میں ممتاز ماہرین میمونہ شجاع سی ای او کوڈ لیب، توقیر احمد سی ای او اینیگ میٹکس، صہیب ارشد ڈائریکٹر کوروٹ، امبر تنصیر، سماجی کارکن، ونیش مدن ایم ڈی انو سِکلز، سمیرا صالحہ پرنسپل گورنمنٹ کالج سیٹلائٹ ٹاؤن بہاولپور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اریبہ خان ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف بینکنگ اینڈ فنانس، راحیل سلیم سی ای او کوڈ لیب شامل تھے۔ شرکاء نے ٹیک انڈسٹری میں صنفی رکاوٹوں پر قابو پانے، سائنس، ٹیکنالوجی، انجینئرنگ اور ریاضی میں خواتین کے لیے کیریئر کی ترقی کی حکمت عملی، رہنمائی اور قیادت کے کردار، مائیکرو فنانس میں ابھرتی ہوئی ٹیکنالوجیز اور ٹیکنالوجی کے شعبے کو تشکیل دینے والے مستقبل کے رجحانات کے بارے میں گفتگو کی۔  اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی سابق  طالبات انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کے شعبے میں اپنی کامیابیوں سے آگاہ کیا۔ انہوں نے ٹیک انڈسٹری میں اپنے سفر اور چیلنجز پر گفتگو کی۔ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز اور کمیٹی کی چیئرپرسن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی نے کہا کہ ہمارا مقصد ٹیکنالوجی میں خواتین کو وسائل، رہنمائی اور نیٹ ورکنگ کے مواقع فراہم کرکے ان کی حوصلہ افزائی اور مدد کرنا ہے۔ قائداعظم میڈیکل کالج کی پرنسپل پروفیسر ڈاکٹر صوفیہ فرخ نے طب کے شعبے میں ٹیکنالوجی کے جدید استعمال  اور خواتین ڈاکٹروں کے کارناموں پر روشنی ڈالی۔  تقریب میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نسرین اختر ڈین فیکلٹی آف آن لائن اینڈ ڈسٹنس لرننگ، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ثمر فہد شعبہ اپلائیڈ سائیکالوجی، ڈاکٹر عالیہ نذیر، انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس، ڈاکٹر مریم سہروردی شعبہ اکنامکس، ڈاکٹر نوین جاوید شعبہ انگریزی، ڈاکٹر کلثوم اختر مینجمنٹ سائنسز، ڈاکٹر سرفراز بتول ڈائریکٹر وومن ڈویلپمنٹ سنٹر، فاطمہ مظاہر ڈپٹی رجسٹرار پبلک افیئرز، ماریہ سلیم پرنسپل، مس حرا ڈپٹی ڈی ایس اے، فیکلٹی ممبران اور طالبات کی بڑی تعداد نے شرکت کی۔
