Secretary Higher Education Department South Punjab Muhammad Altaf Baloch has said that higher education institutions will be transformed into the centers of excellence for the development of knowledge-based economy. He said that there is a need to innovate in research and teaching activities so that our education system can be aligned with international standards. South Punjab Secretariat is initiating measures with far-reaching results in this regard. Secretary Higher Education South Punjab expressed these views during a meeting with the delegation of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur head by Registrar, Prof. Dr. Moazzam Jamil informed about the development and reforms in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has become one of the largest universities in the country in terms of the number of students and also occupies a prominent position in the global ranking. Secretary HED South Punjab appreciated the extraordinary progress of the university in various fields and said that promotion of relations with alumni and establishment of directorate in this regard is a very good initiative. An Alumni wall will be created in the educational institutions where the names of prominent alumni will be engraved. Undoubtedly, alumni can play a significant role in the development of the university. On this occasion, Secretary Higher Education South Punjab Muhammad Altaf Baloch was also presented with the Alumni shield of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the souvenir of Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival. The delegation included Additional Registrar Arif Ramoz, Director Press, Media and Publications Shahzad Ahmed Khalid, Director Alumni Affairs Dr. Azhar Hussain and CCR Alumni Affairs Khizr Javed.

سیکرٹری ہائر ایجوکیشن ڈیپارٹمنٹ جنوبی پنجاب محمد الطاف بلوچ نے کہا ہے کہ اعلیٰ تعلیمی اِداروں کو علم پر مبنی معیشت کے فروغ کے بہترین مراکز میں تبدیل کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تحقیقی اور تدریسی سرگرمیوں میں جدت لانے کی ضرورت ہے تاکہ ہمارے تعلیمی نظام کو بین الاقوامی معیارات سے ہم آہنگ کیاجا سکے۔ جنوبی پنجاب سیکریٹریٹ اس سلسلے میں دوررس نتائج کے حامل اقدامات کا آغاز کر رہا ہے۔ سیکریٹری اعلیٰ تعلیم جنوبی پنجاب نے ان خیالات کا اظہار پروفیسر ڈاکٹر معظم جمیل رجسٹرار کی قیادت میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے وفد سے ملاقات کے دوران کیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر معظم جمیل نے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی قیادت میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں ترقی اور اصلاحات سے متعلق آگاہ کیا۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور طلباء وطالبات کی تعداد کے لحاظ سے ملک کی ایک بڑی یونیورسٹی بن چکی ہے اور عالمی رینکنگ میں بھی نمایاں مقام رکھتی ہے۔ سیکریٹری ایچ ای ڈی جنوبی پنجاب نے مختلف شعبوں میں یونیورسٹی کی غیرمعمولی ترقی کو سراہا اور کہا کہ ایلومنائی سے روابط کا فروغ اور اس سلسلے میں ڈائریکٹوریٹ کا قیام انتہائی احسن اقدام ہے۔ تعلیمی اِداروں میں ایک ایلومنائی وال بنائی جائے گی جہاں نمایاں ایلومنائی کے نام کندہ ہوں گے۔ بلاشبہ ایلومنائی یونیورسٹی کی ترقی میں نمایاں کردار ادا کر سکتی ہے۔ اس موقع پر سیکریٹری ہائر ایجوکیش جنوبی پنجاب محمد الطاف بلوچ کو اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی ایلومنائی شیلڈ اور بہاول پور لٹریری اینڈ کلچرل فیسٹول کا سونئیر بھی پیش کیا گیا۔ وفد میں ایڈیشنل رجسٹرار عارف رموز، ڈائریکٹر پریس،میڈیا اینڈ پبلکیشنز شہزاد احمد خالد، ڈائریکٹر ایلومنائی افیئرز ڈاکٹر اظہر حسین اور سی سی آر ایلومنائی افیئرز خضر جاوید شامل تھے۔
