IUB organized a one-day training activity in collaboration with Pakistan Scientific and Technological Center Islamabad

The Directorate of ORIC, in collaboration with the Pakistan Scientific and Technological Centre, Islamabad organized a one-day training activity on “Development of National Digital Archive of Research Published in Pakistani Journals” & "Indexation of Journals in Scopus" at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The event was held at the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat, Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus, and was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar. The nominated members from the editorial teams of the IUB research journals participated in the training session. In the welcome note, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atif, Director ORIC, welcomes all the participants followed by the briefing about the University Intellectual Property & Revenue Distribution Model approved by the University Syndicate. He unfurls the ORIC initiative regarding the IUB Research Journal Subscription Model which is harmonious not only for the University but for the University affiliated colleges as well. Subsequently, he inaugurated the IUB Research Journal Subscription Model by logging in to the IUB E-portal and submitting a demo application online. The Co-Host Dr. Saif Ullah Azeem, the Project Director at Pakistan Scientific and Technological Centre, delivered an enlightening lecture on the National Digital Archive of Research Published in Pakistani Journals Project Awareness and Consortium. The guest speaker Dr. Muhammad Marwat, Director, Peshawar Institute of Research minted the house by providing an insightful introduction to Scopus, pre-evaluation criteria for Scopus submissions, and integration of on-site requirements of Scopus to Open Journal Systems. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Naveed Akthar, culminated the event by appreciating the efforts made by the ORIC-IUB and thanked the Co-Host for supporting this instrumental training. He pays a myriad gratitude to the guest speaker for his valuable time and knowledge sharing. He encapsulated his views by expressing his exhilaration toward young blood inducted in the ORIC and appreciated on-screen and unsung heroes of the organizing team. He further anticipated that such capacity-building trainings would be orchestrated in the time ahead.

ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف اورک نے پاکستان سائنٹیفک اینڈ ٹیکنالوجی سینٹر، اسلام آباد کے تعاون سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں ''پاکستانی جرنلز میں شائع ہونے والے نیشنل ڈیجیٹل آرکائیو آف ریسرچ کی ترقی'' اور ''اسکوپس میں جرنلز کی اشاریہ'' کے موضوع پر ایک روزہ تربیتی سرگرمی کا انعقاد کیا۔ یہ تقریب وائس چانسلر سیکرٹریٹ بغداد الجدید کیمپس میں منعقد ہوئی اور اس کی صدارت وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے کی۔ تربیتی نشست میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے تحقیقی جرائد کی ادارتی ٹیموں کے نامزد ارکان نے شرکت کی۔ ڈائریکٹر اورک پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد عاطف نے اپنے صدارتی خطاب میں تمام شرکاء کا خیر مقدم کیا جس کے بعد یونیورسٹی سنڈیکیٹ کے منظور کردہ یونیورسٹی انٹلیکچوئل پراپرٹی اور ریونیو ڈسٹری بیوشن ماڈل کے بارے میں بریفنگ دی گئی۔ انہوں نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ریسرچ جرنل سبسکرپشن ماڈل کے حوالے سے اورک کی کارکردگی پیش کی جو نہ صرف یونیورسٹی بلکہ یونیورسٹی سے منسلک کالجوں کے لیے بھی ہم آہنگ ہے۔ اس کے بعد انہوں نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ای پورٹل میں لاگ ان کرکے اور آن لائن ڈیمو درخواست جمع کر کے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ریسرچ جرنل سبسکرپشن ماڈل کا افتتاح کیا۔ڈاکٹر سیف اللہ عظیم، پاکستان سائنٹیفک اینڈ ٹیکنولوجیکل سینٹر کے پروجیکٹ ڈائریکٹر نے پاکستانی جرنلز پراجیکٹ اویئرنس اینڈ کنسورشیم میں شائع ہونے والے نیشنل ڈیجیٹل آرکائیو آف ریسرچ پر ایک تفصیلی لیکچر دیا۔ مہمان مقرر ڈاکٹر محمد مروت، ڈائریکٹر، پشاور انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ریسرچ نے اسکوپس کا بصیرت انگیز تعارف، اسکوپس جمع کرانے کے لیے پہلے سے تشخیصی معیار اور اسکوپس ٹو اوپن جرنل سسٹمز کی آن سائٹ ضروریات کے انضمام کے ذریعے گھر کو روشن کیا۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے اورک اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی کوششوں کو سراہتے ہوئے تقریب کا اختتام کیا اور اس تربیتی ورکشاپ میں تعاون کرنے پر شریک میزبان کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے مزید توقع ظاہر کی کہ اس طرح کی صلاحیت سازی کی تربیتیں آنے والے وقت میں ترتیب دی جائیں گی۔
