IUB organized the 2nd one-day workshop on animal handling techniques at Khawaja Fareed Campus

Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Pharmacy, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized the 2nd one-day workshop on animal handling techniques at Khawaja Fareed Campus, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Qaiser Jabeen, Chairperson, Department of Pharmacology. The workshop was attended by a diverse audience including researchers and students of Pharm D, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Bahawalpur College of Pharmacy, Akbar Institute of Medical Sciences, and Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Training sessions covered various topics including methods for gentle restraint, safety protocols and strategies for reducing stress during experimentation on laboratory animals. Participants also learned the routes of drug administration including oral, intravenous, intraperitoneal and subcutaneous, ensuring accurate drug delivery to the experimental animals. The participants also had the opportunity to handle lab animals themselves under the supervision of skilled pharmacologists Muhammad Umair Ihsan, Mariya Anwaar and Shaheen Gul during the three lab/technical sessions. The attendees interacted with organizers of the workshop including Dr. Ayesha Jamshed, Dr. Fayyaz Anjum and the PhD scholars of the department. Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Principal, Bahawalpur College of Pharmacy, Dr. Saleem Qureshi, CEO, Akbar Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr. Ali Azam, Department of Economics and Dr. Ikrima Khalid, Department of Pharmaceutics, GCUF, graced the event. Dr. Fayyaz Anjum, being the focal person, highlighted the significance of animal ethics in pharmacological studies. Dr. Ayesha Jamshed, emphasized on the importance of proper training in animal handling for the collection of reliable data and assurance of scientific rigor. Prof. Dr. Qaiser Jabeen thanked Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Rao Saeed Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, for their throughout support and guidance.

بہاولپور (پ ر) شعبہ فارماکولوجی، فیکلٹی آف فارمیسی، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے خواجہ فرید کیمپس میں جانوروں کو سنبھالنے کی تکنیکوں پر دوسری ایک روزہ ورکشاپ کا انعقاد کیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر قیصر جبیں، چیئرپرسن شعبہ فارماکولوجی نے ورکشاپ کی صدارت کی۔ ورکشاپ میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، بہاولپور کالج آف فارمیسی، اکبر انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف میڈیکل سائنسز اور چولستان یونیورسٹی آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز کے محققین اور طلباء و طالبات نے شرکت کی۔ تربیتی سیشنز میں مختلف موضوعات کا احاطہ کیا گیا جن میں نرم تحمل کے طریقے، حفاظتی پروٹوکولز اور تجربہ گاہوں کے جانوروں پر تجربات کے دوران تناؤ کو کم کرنے کی حکمت عملی شامل ہیں۔ شرکاء کو تین لیب/ٹیکنیکل سیشنز کے دوران ماہر فارماسولوجسٹ محمد عمیر احسان، ماریہ انور اور شاہین گل کی نگرانی میں خود لیب کے جانوروں کو سنبھالنے کا موقع بھی ملا۔ شرکاء نے ورکشاپ کے منتظمین بشمول ڈاکٹر عائشہ جمشید، ڈاکٹر فیاض انجم اور شعبہ کے پی ایچ ڈی سکالرز سے بات چیت کی۔ بہاولپور کالج آف فارمیسی کے پرنسپل پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ظفر اقبال، اکبر انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف میڈیکل سائنسز کے سی ای او ڈاکٹر سلیم قریشی، شعبہ معاشیات ڈاکٹر علی اعظم اور جی سی یو ایف کے شعبہ فارماسیوٹکس ڈاکٹر عکرمہ خالد نے تقریب میں شرکت کی۔ فوکل پرسن ڈاکٹر فیاض انجم نے فارماکولوجیکل اسٹڈیز میں حیوانی اخلاقیات کی اہمیت پر روشنی ڈالی۔ ڈاکٹر عائشہ جمشید نے ڈیٹا اکٹھا کرنے اور سائنسی سختی کی یقین دہانی کے لیے جانوروں کی دیکھ بھال کی مناسب تربیت کی اہمیت پر زور دیا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر قیصر جبیں نے پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران، وائس چانسلر، اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر راؤ سعید احمد، ڈین، فیکلٹی آف فارمیسی، اور فیکلٹی آف میڈیسن اینڈ الائیڈ ہیلتھ سائنسز کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔
