IUB topped in three categories of UN Sustainable Development Goals

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has topped in three categories of UN Sustainable Development Goals all over Pakistan in Times Higher Education world ranking of Universities for the year 2021. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur participated in the Times Higher Education World Rankings for the first time and topped Pakistani universities with first position in three fields. The move is aimed at highlighting the 100-year-old historic university internationally. The Times Higher Education is the UK's global ranking of universities that assess the impact of educational institutions on the social and economic sectors. Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed Buzdar, Director Quality Enhancement Cell said that 36 universities of Pakistan participated in the Times Higher Education Rankings and presented data in line with the United Nations Global Sustainable Development Goals. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur achieved the first position in three categories Pakistan. These include eradication of hunger and poverty, sustainable development of cities and communities, strong institutions based on peace and justice. Similarly, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has achieved the 5th position in clean affordable energy. Overall the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has been ranked 18th out of 36 universities and ranked 101 globally for eradicating hunger and poverty. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is one of the nine universities that sent data to Times Higher Education to participate in all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے ٹائمز ہائر ایجوکیشن ورلڈ رینکنگ کی امپیکٹ رینکنگ میں پہلی بار شرکت کی اور نمایاں مقام حاصل کیا۔ امپیکٹ رینکنگ بنیادی طور پر اقوام متحدہ کی پائیدار ترقی کے 18 مقاصد Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) کے حصول کیلئے ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور تمام18 مقاصد پہ کام کرنے والی چند یونیورسٹیوں میں شامل ہے، اور اس پہلی کوشش میں 3مقاصد میں پاکستانی جامعات میں پہلی پوزیشن کے ساتھ سرفہرست رہی۔تفصیلات کے مطابق کوالٹی انہاسمنٹ سیل اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی ہدایت پر پہلی مرتبہ یونیورسٹی سے متعلقہ اعداو شماردرجہ بندی کے لیے عالمی اداروں کو بھیجے۔اس اقدام کا مقصد بین الاقوامی سطح پر100سال قدیم اس تاریخی جامعہ کواجاگر کرناہے۔ٹائمز ہائر ایجوکیشن جامعات کی عالمی رینکنگ کا برطانوی ادارہ ہے جو تعلیمی اداروں کے سماجی اور معاشی شعبوں پراثرات کا جائزہ لے کر ان کی عالمی درجہ بندی کرتا ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سعید احمد بزدار، ڈائریکٹر کوالٹی انہاسمنٹ سیل نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان کی 36جامعات نے ٹائمز ہائر ایجوکیشن رینکنگ میں شرکت کی اور اقوام متحدہ کے دیر پا ترقی کے عالمی احداف کی مطابقت سے ڈیٹا پیش کیا۔اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے جن تین احداف میں پاکستان بھر میں پہلی پوزیشن حاصل کی ان میں بھوک وافلاس کا خاتمہ، دیر پا ترقی کے حامل شہراور برادریاں، امن و انصاف پر مبنی مضبوط ادارے شامل ہیں۔اسی طرح اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپورنے دستیاب صاف توانائی میں پانچویں پوزیشن حاصل کی ہے۔جامعہ اسلامیہ بہاولپور نے مجموعی طور پر 36جامعات میں 18 ویں پوزیشن حاصل کی ہے۔ بھوک و افلاس کے خاتمے کے لیے عالمی سطح پر 101درجے پر رہی۔ غربت کے خاتمے کے لیے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور ان 9جامعات میں شامل ہے جنہوں نے اقوام متحدہ کے دیر پا ترقی کے تمام17احداف میں شرکت کے لیے ٹائمز ہائرایجوکیشن کو اعداوشماربھیجے۔
