Governor Punjab and Chancellor Engr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rahman has said that universities are the bright face of the society and play a key role in development. Along with traditional teaching, universities also perform literary and social services and patronize personalities associated with them. It is very gratifying that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is awarding honorary PhD degrees to two prominent personalities of the country. These views were expressed today by Governor Punjab and Chancellor Engr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rahman while addressing the special convocation 2023 at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. He said that Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi is undoubtedly a strong reference of Seraiki language and literature and a proud asset of the South Punjab. His services to Seraiki language and literature are worth remembering. Javed Chaudhary is a positive personality of Pakistani journalism and his journalistic services are commendable. I congratulate both the degree recipients on the day of this ceremony. Governor Punjab said that Bahawalpur is a center of lush gardens, libraries and great educational institutions and has an important role in national development. The educational institutions here have produced the best academicians, writers and poets, athletes and scientists who have proved their talents at the national and international level. Among these institutions, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is at the forefront and the role of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in promoting education from Baltistan to Sindh and Balochistan has been highly commendable. Governor Punjab said that our educational institutions are morally bound to produce educated youth who are not only endowed with technical skills but also have high personal standards. I am glad that under the leadership of the current Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is playing its role in promoting the teachings of this great poet based on peace and harmony. The Governor appreciated the efforts of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, the faculty and their team, whose hard work is making the Islamia University of Bahawalpur a major academic hub. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur will continue to produce the brightest and most qualified graduates and researchers. In his welcome address on this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a university of 100 years old historical identity. Today is a day of pride for the entire university that the eminent poet of the region Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi and university alumni and media luminary Javed Chaudhary are being awarded honorary PhD degrees. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has produced renowned figures in every field of life who have made the name of this university bright all over the world. Shakir Shaja Abadi has left a deep impression on Seraiki literature and culture with his poetry. His poetry awakens the spirit of hope and struggle in the youth. Today, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is paying tribute to this great son of the earth by conferring an honorary degree. Mr. Javed Chowdhury is a graduate from the Department of Media and Communication Studies. His column Zero Point is popular all over the world while the current affairs program kal Tak is the most successful talk show in the evening TV programs. Javed Chaudhary is the beautiful face of our past, present and future. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is awarding this talented student with an honorary PhD degree today. The Vice-Chancellor while reviewing the ongoing teaching, research and development activities in the university said that 65 thousand students are engaged in education in 7 campuses and 15 faculties of the university and more than 2000 teachers are providing educational services. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is actively contributing to the agricultural economy of the country through its research activities, especially through cotton seeds which are being cultivated in more than 45% of the area. Punjab Governor and Chancellor Engr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rahman during his tenure as the Federal Minister of Education has done billions of rupees worth of development works in this university, which include the projects of Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan Campuses and Faculty of Business Administration. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur as the chancellor and Governor Punjab also has his full support and patronage, teachers and students are grateful to him. سر انجام دیتی ہیں اور ان سے وابستہ شخصیات کی سرپرستی کرتی ہیں۔ یہ عمل انتہائی خوش آئند ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ملک کی دو نامور شخصیات کو اعزازی پی ایچ ڈی ڈگری عطا کر رہی ہے۔ گورنر پنجاب و چانسلر انجینئر محمد بلیغ الرحمن نے ان خیالات کا اظہار آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے خصوصی کانووکیشن 2023 میں خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ محمد شفیع شاکر شجاع آبادی بلاشبہ سرائیکی زبان و ادب کا مضبوط حوالہ اور جنوبی پنجاب کا قابل فخر اثاثہ ہیں۔ سرائیکی زبان و ادب کے لیے ان کی خدمات یاد رکھے جانے کے قابل ہیں۔ جاوید چودھری پاکستانی صحافت کی مثبت شخصیت ہیں اور ان کی صحافتی خدمات لائق تحسین ہیں۔ میں آج کی اس تقریب کے دن دونوں ڈگری یافتگان کو مبارک پیش کرتا ہوں۔ گورنر پنجاب نے کہا کہ بہاول پور سر سبز باغات، کتب خانوں اور عظیم تعلیمی اداروں کا مرکز اور قومی ترقی میں اہم کردار کا حامل ہے۔ یہاں کے تعلیمی اداروں نے بہترین ماہر تعلیم، ادیب و شاعر، کھلاڑی اور سائنس دان پیدا کیے ہیں جنہوں نے قومی و عالمی سطح پر اپنی صلاحیتوں کا لوہا منوایا ہے۔ ان اداروں میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور سب سے آگے ہے اور فروغ تعلیم میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا کردار بلتستان تا سندھ و بلوچستان انتہائی قابل ستائش رہا ہے۔گورنر پنجاب نے کہا کہ ہمارے تعلیمی ادارے اخلاقی طور پر اس بات کے پابند ہیں کہ وہ ایسے تعلیم یافتہ نوجوان پیدا کریں جو نہ صرف تکنیکی صلاحیتوں سے مالا مال ہوں بلکہ ان کا شخصی معیار بھی بلند ہو۔بہاول پور اور چولستان خواجہ فرید کی انسان دوست سرزمین ہیں۔ مجھے خوشی ہے کہ موجودہ وائس چانسلر کی قیادت میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور اس عظیم شاعر کی امن و آشتی پر مبنی تعلیمات کے فروغ کے لیے اپنا کردار ادا کر رہی ہے۔ وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر، اساتذہ اور ان کی ٹیم کی کوششوں کو سراہتا ہوں جن کی تگ و دو سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ایک بڑا علمی مرکز بنتی جا رہی ہے۔ مجھے یقین ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ذہین ترین اور لائق گریجویٹس اور محققین پیدا کر تی رہے گی۔ اس موقع پر اپنے خطبہ استقبالیہ میں وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاو ل پور 100سالہ قدیم تاریخی شناخت کی جامعہ ہے۔ آج کا دن پوری جامعہ کے لیے باعث فخر ہے کہ خطے کے نامور شاعر محمد شفیع شاکر شجاع آبادی اور یونیورسٹی ایلومینائی اور میڈیا کے چمکتا نام جاوید چودھری کو اعزازی پی ایچ ڈی ڈگری عطا کی جا رہی ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے زندگی کے ہر شعبے میں نادر روزگار شخصیات پیدا کیں ہیں جنہوں نے اس یونیورسٹی کا نام پوری دنیا میں روشن کیا۔ شاکر شجا ع آبادی نے سرائیکی ادب اور کلچر میں اپنی شاعری سے گہرے نقوش ثبت کیے۔ ان کی شاعری نوجوانوں میں امید اور جدوجہد کا جذبہ بیدار کرتی ہے۔ آج اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور دھرتی کے اس عظیم فرزند کو اعزازی ڈگری عطا کر کے خراج تحسین پیش کر رہی ہے۔ جناب جاوید چودھری ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف میڈیا اینڈ کمیونیکیشن اسٹڈیز سے فارغ التحصیل ہیں۔ ان کا کالم زیرو پوائنٹ پوری دنیا میں مقبول ہے جبکہ حالات حاضرہ کا پروگرام کل تک شام کے ٹی وی پروگراموں میں کامیاب ترین ٹاک شو ہے۔ جاوید چودھری ہمارے ماضی، حال اور مستقبل کا خوبصورت چہرہ ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پورآج اپنے اس ہونہار سپوت کو اعزازی ڈگری سے نواز رہی ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے یونیورسٹی میں جاری تدریسی، تحقیقی اور ترقیاتی سرگرمیوں کا جائزہ پیش کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ جامعہ کے7 کیمپسز اور 15فیکلٹیوں میں 65 ہزار طلباء وطالبات حصول تعلیم میں مصروف ہیں اور 2000سے زائد اساتذہ تعلیمی خدمات دے رہے ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی تحقیقی سرگرمیوں کے ذریعے خصوصا کپاس کے بیجوں کے ذریعے جو 45فیصد سے زائد رقبے پر کاشت کیے جا رہے ہیں، ملکی زرعی معیشت میں فعال انداز میں اپنا حصہ ڈال رہی ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور پہلی یونیورسٹی ہے جس نے ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن کے ایسوسی ایٹ ڈگری پروگرام اور انڈرگریجویٹ پالیسی 2023 کو اپنے ہاں نافذ کیا۔ گورنر پنجاب و چانسلر انجینئر محمد بلیغ الرحمن نے اپنے دورِ وزارت میں بطور وفاقی وزیر تعلیم اس یونیورسٹی میں اربوں روپے کے ترقیاتی کام کروائے جن میں بہاولنگر، رحیم یار خان کیمپسز اور فیکلٹی آف ایڈمنسٹریشن کے منصوبے شامل ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کو بطور چانسلر و گورنر پنجاب بھی ان کی بھرپورتائید و حمایت اور سرپرستی حاصل ہے اس کے لیے اساتذہ
