On the birthday of Nawab Sir Sadiq Mohammad Khan Abbasi-V, the last ruler of Bahawalpur, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Prof. Dr. Shahid Hassan Rizvi, Honorary Director of Sir Sadiq Mohammad Khan Khamis Abbasi-V Chair, said in their statement that the progress made by the state of Bahawalpur during the rule of Nawab was a shining chapter in the history of the region and the country. During that period, the revenue of the state increased significantly, educational activities increased, agriculture as a result of the Sutlej Valley project flourished here and the state gained prominence among the developed states of Punjab. Today, there is a need to rethink this sincere Sadiq vision and make full use of it by making it a leader, and to make this region a metaphor for peace, development and a bright future again.

سابق ریاست بہاول پور کے آخری فرمانروا فرمانروا نواب سر صادق محمد خان خامس عباسی کے یوم پیدائش پر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی کے وائس چانسلر پروفیسر انجئنیر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب اور سر صادق محمد خان خامس عباسی چئیر کے اعزازی ڈائریکٹر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شاہد حسن رضوی نے ایک بیان میں نواب سر صادق محمد خان خامس عباسی کو خراج تحسین پیش کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ نواب موصوف کے دور حکمرانی میں ریاست بہاول پور نے جو ترقی کی وہ اس خطے اور ملک کی تاریخ کا روشن و درخشاں باب ہے. اُس زمانے میں ریاست کی آمدنی میں بیش قدر اضافہ ہوا، تعلیمی سرگرمیاں بڑھیں، ستلج ویلی پراجیکٹ کے نتیجے میں یہاں زراعت کو فروغ حاصل ہوا اور ریاست کو پنجاب کی ترقی یافتہ ریاستوں میں نمایاں مقام حاصل ہوگیا. آج ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ اس صادق ویژن کو ازسرنو سمجھا جائے اور اُسے رہنما قرار دے کر اس سے استفادہ کی بھر پور کوشش کی جائے اور اس خطے کو پھر سے امن و آشتی، ترقی اور روشن مستقبل کا استعارہ بنا دیا جائے.
