On the occasion of 76th Independence Day, the central event was held at Abbasia Campus the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur hoisted the flag. Deans, senior teachers, dignitaries and students were present on this occasion. In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar said that today is Independence Day. Exactly 76 years ago today, the Islamic subcontinent under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. After getting rid of British imperialism and Hindu supremacy, Pakistan, the largest kingdom in India, was acquired with the promise that this kingdom would be an ideological laboratory for the Muslim Ummah. Here the philosophy of Muslim life will be implemented and the protection of economic, political, financial, social and social rights will be guaranteed for the Muslims of this region. Therefore, today is a day full of joy and renewal. We all have the responsibility to work together on the principles of unity, faith, organization and belief of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to brighten the name of our country. Beyond regional, linguistic and sectarianism, become an independent nation and fulfill your responsibilities in building Pakistan. This is the renewed pledge. On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor virtually inaugurated the Jinnah Corner established in Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Library. It has been established with the financial support from Bahawalpur Garrison. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, is the focal person of Jinnah Corner. The great cultural, social and historical heritage of Pakistan has been preserved in Jinnah Corner. Books, journals and rare photographs related to the freedom movement are kept here. There is also a study research area in a room at Jinnah Corner and audio-videos based on the speeches of the founder of Pakistan. The Vice-Chancellor planted saplings in the Abbasia campus on the occasion of Independence Day and launched the monsoon plantation campaign in the university.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں یوم آزادی کی مرکزی تقریب عباسیہ کیمپس میں منعقد ہوئی۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر وائس چانسلراسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے پرچم کشائی کی۔ اس موقع پر ڈینز، سینئر اساتذہ کرام، معززین شہر اور طلبا و طالبات موجود تھے۔ اپنے صدارتی خطاب میں وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے کہا کہ آج آزادی کا دن ہے۔ میں اس دن کی مناسبت سے آپ سب کو یوم آزادی کی مبارک باد پیش کرتا ہوں۔ آج سے ٹھیک 76 سال قبل اسلامیان برصغیر نے قائداعظم کی قیادت میں انگریز سامراج اور ہندو بالادستی سے نجات پا کر دنیا کی سب سے بڑی مملکت پاکستان اس عہد کے ساتھ حاصل کی تھی کہ یہ مملکت مسلم امہ کے لیے نظریاتی تجربہ گاہ ہو گی۔ یہاں مسلمانوں کے نظریہ حیات کا نفاذ ہو گا اور اس خطے کے مسلمانوں کے لیے اقتصادی، سیاسی، معاشی، سماجی اور معاشرتی حقوق کے تحفظ کی ضامن ہو گی۔ اس لیے آج کا دن جہاں مسرتوں بھر اہے اس کے ساتھ تجدید عہد بھی ہے۔ ہم سب پر یہ ذمہ داری عائد ہوتی ہے کہ ہم سب مل کر قائداعظم محمد علی جناح کے اصولوں اتحاد، ایمان، تنظیم اور یقین محکم پر کار بند ہو کر اپنے ملک کا نام روشن کریں۔ علاقائی، لسانی اور فرقہ واریت سے بالاتر ہوکر ایک خودار قوم بن کر تعمیر پاکستان میں اپنی ذمہ داریاں پوری کریں یہی تجدید عہد ہے۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر نے سرصادق محمد خان لائبریری میں قائم شدہ جناح کارنر کا ورچوئل افتتاح کیا۔ یہ جناح کارنر بہاول پور گیریژن کی مالی معاونت سے قائم کیا گیا ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز جناح کارنر کی فوکل پرسن ہیں۔ جناح کارنر میں پاکستان کے عظیم تہذیبی، سماجی اور تاریخی ورثہ کو محفوظ کیا گیا ہے۔ یہاں پر تحریک آزادی سے متعلق کتب، جرائد اور نایاب تصاویر رکھی گئی ہیں۔ جناح کارنر میں قائم ایک روم میں سٹڈی ریسرچ ایریا اور بانی پاکستان کی تقاریر پر مبنی آڈیو ویڈیو بھی موجود ہیں۔ وائس چانسلر نے یوم آزادی کی مناسبت سے عباسیہ کیمپس میں پودا لگایا اور یونیورسٹی میں موسم برسات کی شجر کاری مہم کا آغاز کیا۔
