Provincial Minister for Higher Education Punjab, Pro Chancellor Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz presided over the 16th session of the Senate of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Senior Faculty Members, Deans, Secretary Registrar Prof. Dr. Moazzam Jamil, Controller Examinations, Treasurer, Professors, Heads of Academic Department were present on the occasion. The meeting approved 4 ongoing and development budgets of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for the year 2016-2020. In addition, the election of senate members, changes in pension laws, administrative rules, approval of senate members for the Financial Planning Committee, inclusion of female faculty members in the senate, establishment of new faculty and departments, appointment of faculty deans and public-private partnerships. Matters such as development projects under the scheme were approved. Addressing the students during his visit, the provincial minister said that the Punjab government was paying special attention to the field of higher education. New universities are being set up in Layyah, Taunsa Sharif and Rajanpur in South Punjab. Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan which was a small university has been expanded and turned into a big university. He said that the speed with which Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob has transformed this university into one of the best and largest universities in Pakistan is commendable. Development projects worth Rs. 10 billion will be instrumental in making this historic University of South Punjab an international university. The Government of Punjab is providing full support and assistance for the development of all the universities including the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. He told the students that he has taken a very kind step by activating more than 29 newly formed student societies in the university. I was also happy to see sports activities in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The Punjab government is soon re-launching the sports league and in future students from all the universities will participate in these leagues. The provincial minister inaugurated the amphitheater during his visit. The amphitheater has a seating capacity of more than 2000 students in which extracurricular and extracurricular activities can continue. Classrooms and grand parking have been built along with the amphitheater. The provincial minister also inaugurated the Al-Sadiq Computing Center. The Punjab Government's E Rozgar Markaz and Plan 9 laboratories have been set up in this camping center. The project has so far trained hundreds of students in freelancing and IT training to create software and provide services to domestic and foreign companies, earning the country valuable foreign exchange. The provincial minister also inaugurated a successful youth center set up with the help of Higher Education Commission. The center is being set up in different universities as per the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, where students will be provided information on jobs, internships and scholarships. He also laid the foundation stone of the projects. This is the first project of its kind in the country's universities and the government of Pakistan is also encouraging public-private partnership projects. He also inaugurated the expansion and renovation of the residential colony mosque. The provincial minister also inaugurated the newly established nursing college. He was informed that this is the first nursing college of its kind in the country's universities where a 4-year nursing degree will be awarded. He also visited the data center where digital data of all the employees and students of the university is stored digitally. Initiate programs that enhance the development of the area. He was informed that new campuses of the university were being set up at Ahmadpur East and Liaquatpur to provide higher education opportunities to the youth at their doorstep. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal said that the university has introduced 4 seeds in the market and has achieved the status of fourth university where cotton seeds are being cultivated on 45% area of Punjab. Cotton is being cultivated to protect the local geographical environment, low water, leaf rot virus and white fly so that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur can play its role in revival of agricultural economy. Briefing the university about the partnership in the agricultural sector, he said that billions of rupees spent on import of edible oil could be saved through intercropping technology and this project was also an important step towards food security. He was also briefed on the resettlement of 600,000 acres of Cholistan area by artificial rain in collaboration with a Dubai firm. The project has the potential to change the agricultural, social and economic situation of the region. Director Information Technology Rizwan Majeed gave a briefing on software developed for university management which is very important in decision making. The provincial minister said that the achievements of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in the field of information technology are a valuable example from other universities. He said that he would work with the IT team of the university on major projects at the provincial level and in this regard the IT team of the university would be invited to Lahore. Apart from this, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is an ideal place for Information Technology Park in Bahawalpur. During his visit, the provincial minister planted a tree in the Vice Chancellor's office and inaugurated the Grandmother's Exhibition. He also inaugurated a souvenir shop set up by Public Relations Department at Abbasia Campus and appreciated the Cholistani products manufactured by the College of Art and Design. Cholistani Food Festival was also organized on this occasion. This food festival will be organized in the next Cholistani Jeep Rally in collaboration with the provincial government. The provincial minister also attended the signing ceremony of an agreement with a private institution to finance students on behalf of the Directorate of Fundraising and University Advances. He also participated in a sports gala organized by the Physics Institute.

صوبائی وزیر ہائیر ایجوکیشن پنجاب، پرو چانسلر راجہ یاسر ہمایوں سرفراز نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپورکے سینٹ کے 16ویں اجلاس کی صدارت کی۔ اس موقع پر وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب، پرو وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر، سینئر فیکلٹی ممبران، ڈینز، سیکرٹری رجسٹرارپروفیسر ڈاکٹر معظم جمیل، کنٹرولر امتحانات، خزانہ دار، پروفیسرز، تدریسی شعبہ جا ت کے سربراہان موجود تھے۔ اجلاس میں جامعہ اسلامیہ کے سال 2016تا 2020کے 4جاری اور ترقیاتی بجٹ کی منظوری دی گئی۔ اس کے علاوہ سینٹ ممبران کے انتخاب، پنشن قوانین میں تبدیلی، انتظامی قوانین، فنانشل پلاننگ کمیٹی کے لیے سینٹ ممبران کی منظوری، خواتین فیکلٹی ممبران کی سینٹ میں شمولیت، نئی فیکلٹی اور شعبہ جات کے قیام، فیکلٹی ڈینز کی تعیناتی اور پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنرشپ کے تحت ہونے والے ترقیاتی منصوبوں جیسے امور کی منظوری دی گئی۔ اپنے دورے کے دوران طلباء وطالبات سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے صوبائی وزیر نے کہا کہ حکومت پنجاب اعلیٰ تعلیم کے شعبے پر خصوصی توجہ دے رہی ہے۔ جنوبی پنجاب میں لیہ، تونسہ شریف اور راجن پور میں نئی جامعات قائم کی جا رہی ہیں۔ غازی یونیورسٹی ڈیرہ غازی خان جو ایک چھوٹی یونیورسٹی تھی وسعت دے کر بڑی جامعہ میں تبدیل کر دیا گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور ا نجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے جس تیزی سے اس یونیورسٹی کو پاکستان کی ایک بہترین اور بڑی جامعہ میں بدلا ہے وہ قابل تحسین ہے۔یونیورسٹی میں ہزاروں کی تعداد میں نئے طلباء وطالبات کا اضافہ ہوا اور 10ارب روپے مالیت کے ترقیاتی منصوبے جنوبی پنجاب کی اس تاریخی یونیورسٹی کو عالمی یونیورسٹی کا درجہ دلانے میں مددگار ثابت ہو ں گے۔ حکومت پنجاب اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور سمیت تمام جامعات کو ترقی کے لیے مکمل مدد اور تعاون فراہم کر رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے طلباء وطالبات سے کہاکہ جامعہ میں نئی بننے والی29سے زائد سٹوڈنٹس سوسائیٹز کو فعال کرکے بہت احسان اقدام کیا ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں سپورٹس کی سرگرمیاں دیکھ کر بھی خوشی ہوئی۔ حکومت پنجاب جلد ہی سپورٹس لیگ کا دوبارہ آغاز کر رہی ہے اور آئندہ تمام جامعات سے طلباء وطالبات ان لیگس میں شریک ہوں گے۔ صوبائی وزیر نے اپنے دورے کے دوران ایمفی تھیٹر کا افتتاح کیا۔ اس ایمفی تھیٹر میں 2000سے زائد اطلباء کے بیٹھنے کی گنجائش ہے جس میں نصابی اور ہم نصابی سرگرمیوں جاری رکھ سکتے ہیں۔ ایمفی تھیٹر کے ساتھ کلاس رومز اور گرینڈ پارکنگ بھی تعمیر کی گئی ہے۔ صوبائی وزیر نے الصادق کیمپوٹنگ سنٹر کا بھی افتتاح کیا۔ اس کیمپوٹنگ سنٹر میں حکومت پنجاب کا ای روزگار مرکزاور پلان 9کی لیبارٹریز قائم ہیں۔ اس منصوبے سے اب تک سینکڑوں طلباء وطالبات فری لانسنگ اور آئی ٹی کی تربیت حاصل کرکے سافٹ ویئر بنار ہے ہیں اور ملکی اور غیر ملکی اداروں کو خدمات فراہم کر رہے ہیں جس سے ملک کو قیمتی زرمبادلہ حاصل ہو رہا ہے۔ صوبائی وزیر نے ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن کی مدد سے قائم ہونے والے کامیاب جوان مرکز کا بھی افتتاح کیا۔ یہ مرکز وزیر اعظم پاکستان کے ویژن کے مطابق مختلف جامعات میں قائم کیا جا رہاہے جہاں طلباء وطالبات کو ملازمت، انٹرنشپ، سکالر شپس کی معلومات فراہم کی جائیں گی۔انہوں نے پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنرشپ کے تحت 4ارب روپے مالیت کے 4اکیڈمک بلاک اور روڈ نیٹ ورک کے منصوبوں کا بھی سنگ بنیاد رکھا۔ یہ ملکی جامعات میں اپنی نوعیت کا پہلا منصوبہ ہے اور حکومت پاکستان بھی پبلک پرائیویٹ پارٹنر شپ منصوبوں کی بھی حوصلہ افزائی کر رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے رہائشی کالونی مسجد کی توسیع اورتزئین و آرائش کا بھی افتتاح کیا۔ صوبائی وزیر نے نوقائم شدہ نرسنگ کالج کا بھی افتتاح کیا۔ انہیں بتایا گیا کہ ملکی جامعات میں اپنی نوعیت کا پہلا نرسنگ کالج ہے جہاں پر 4سالہ نرسنگ کی ڈگری دی جائے گی۔ انہوں نے ڈیٹا سنٹر کا بھی دورہ کیا جہاں یونیورسٹی کے تمام ملازمین اور طلباء وطالبات کا ڈیٹا ڈیجیٹل محفوظ کیا جاتا ہے۔بعدازاں صوبائی وزیر نے فیکلٹی ممبران اور سینئر افسران کے ایک اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ جامعات اپنے علاقے کی ضروریات کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے ایسے پروگرام شروع کریں جس سے علاقے کی ترقی میں اضافہ ہو۔ انہیں بتایا گیا کہ احمدپور شرقیہ اور لیاقت پور میں یونیورسٹی کے نئے کیمپسز قائم کیے جارہے ہیں تاکہ نوجوانوں کو ان کی دہلیز پر اعلیٰ تعلیم کے مواقع فراہم کیے جا سکیں۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد اقبال نے یونیورسٹی میں ہونے والی کپاس کی تحقیق سے متعلق بتایا کہ یونیورسٹی 4بیج مارکیٹ میں متعارف کرواچکی ہے اور فورتھ یونیورسٹی کا درجہ حاصل کر چکی ہے جہاں کے کپاس بیج پنجا ب کے 45فیصد رقبے پر کاشت کیے جا رہے ہیں۔مقامی جغرافیائی ماحول، کم پانی، پتہ مروٹ وائرس  اور سفید مکھی سے محفوظ رہنے والی کپاس کی کاشت کی جا رہی ہے تاکہ زرعی معیشت کی بحالی میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اپنا کردار ادا کرسے۔نو جوان محقق ڈاکٹر علی رضا نے انٹرکراپنگ ٹیکنالوجی اور سیچوان یونیورسٹی سے زرعی شعبہ میں اشتراک سے متعلق بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ خوردنی تیل کی درآمد پر خرچ ہونے والا اربوں روپے کا زرمبادلہ انٹرکراپنگ ٹیکنالوجی سے بچایا جا سکتا ہے اور یہ منصوبہ فوڈ سیکورٹی کی جانب بھی اہم قدم ہے۔ انہیں دبئی کی ایک فرم کے تعاون سے مصنوعی بارش سے چولستان کے 6لاکھ ایکٹر رقبے کو آباد کرنے سے متعلق بھی آگاہ کیا گیا۔یہ منصوبہ اس علاقے کی زرعی،سماجی اور معاشی صورت حال بدل دینے کی صلاحت کا حامل ہے۔ ڈائریکٹر انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی رضوان مجید نے یونیورسٹی مینجمنٹ کے لیے بنائے گئے سوفٹ ویئر سے متعلق بریفنگ دی جو فیصلہ سازی میں بہت اہم ثابت ہوتے ہیں۔ صوبائی وزیر نے کہا کہ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی کے شعبے میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی کامیابیاں دوسری جامعات سے قابل قدر مثال ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ یونیورسٹی کی آئی ٹی ٹیم کے ساتھ مل کر صوبائی سطح کے بڑے منصوبوں پر کام کریں گے اور اس سلسلے میں یونیورسٹی کی آئی ٹی ٹیم کو لاہور مدعو کیا جائے گا۔ اس کے علاوہ بہاولپور میں انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی پارک کے لیے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور انتہائی آئیڈیل مقام ہے۔ صوبائی وزیر نے اپنے دورے کے دوران وائس چانسلر آفس میں پودا لگایا اور گل دادی کی نمائش کا افتتاح کیا۔ انہوں نے عباسیہ کیمپس میں شعبہ تعلقات عامہ کی جانب سے قائم کی جانے والی ساوینئرشاپ کا بھی افتتاح کیا اور کالج آف آرٹ اینڈ ڈیزائن کی تیار کردہ چولستانی مصنوعات کی تعریف کی۔ اس موقع پر چولستانی فوڈ فیسٹیول کا بھی اہتمام کیا گیا۔ اس فوڈ فیسٹیول کو صوبائی حکومت کے تعاون سے آئندہ چولستانی جیپ ریلی میں لگایا جائے گا۔ صوبائی وزیر نے ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف فنڈز ریزنگ اینڈ یونیورسٹی ایڈوانسمنٹ کی جانب سے طلباء کی مالی مدد کے ایک نجی ادارے سے معاہدے کی تقریب میں بھی شرکت کی۔ انہوں نے فزکس انسٹیٹیو ٹ کے زیر اہتمام سپورٹس گالا میں بھی شرکت کی۔
