Prof Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha from IUB participated the course committee meeting organized by HEC in Lahore

On the direction of Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman, Department of Social Work, participated as a senior member in the course committee meeting organized by the Higher Education Commission at Lahore. The committee designed the General Course Civic and Community Engagement for the Higher Education Commission's new undergraduate policy to be implemented in the fall semester 2023. The policy aims to raise the quality of undergraduate education to international standards so that graduates can meet their compulsory course on civic and community engagement has been introduced in this policy. The Civic and Community Engagement course aims to bring about responsible citizenship and active engagement among local communities by universities through their students and provide a basic understanding of the principles, institutions and processes of civic engagement in a democratic society.

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی ہدایت پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا، چیئرمین ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف سوشل ورک اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن کے زیر اہتمام کورس کمیٹی اجلاس لاہور میں بطور سینئر ممبر شرکت کی۔ کمیٹی نے ہائر ایجوکیش کمیشن کی نئی انڈر گریجویٹ پالیسی کے لیے جنرل کورس سوک اینڈ کمیونٹی اینگیجمنٹ ڈیزائن کیا جس کو 2023 کے موسم خزاں میں لاگو کیا جائے گا۔اس پالیسی کا مقصد انڈر گریجویٹ تعلیم کے معیار کو بین الاقوامی معیار تک بڑھانا ہے تاکہ گریجویٹس اپنی عملی زندگی میں کامیاب ہو سکے۔ اس پالیسی میں شہری اور کمیونٹی مشغولیت پر ایک لازمی کورس متعارف کرایا گیا ہے۔ سوک اینڈ کمیونٹی اینگیجمنٹ کورس کا مقصد یونیورسٹیوں اپنے طلباء کے ذریعے مقامی کمیونٹیز کے درمیان ذمہ دارانہ شہریت اور فعال مشغولیت لانا اور جمہوری معاشرے میں شہری مشغولیت کے اصولوں، اداروں اور عمل کے بارے میں بنیادی تفہیم فراہم کرنا ہے۔
