Bahawalpur (PR) Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa, Dean Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, speaking on the university Facebook during the live admission hour, said that the admission campaign is going on in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences consists of three departments including Department of Geography, Department of Mathematics and Institute of Physics. Department of Physics is the oldest department of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur established in 1977, the Department of Physics was upgraded to Institute of Physics in 2020. In the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, 104 faculty members are imparting education to students, most of faculty are internationally qualified PhD. More than three thousand students are studying. The Department of Mathematics is offering ADP, BS, MPhil and Ph.D. In the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, such subjects have been introduced which are providing excellent employment opportunities to the students along with freelancing and skills. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has E-Rozgar Center where qualified teachers are imparting freelancing training to students which is contributing to economic and social development. Graduates of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur are getting excellent employment opportunities in domestic and foreign industry as per the market requirements. Similarly, ADP, BS, MPhil and PhD programs are also being conducted in the Institute of Physics. 11 specializations are being conducted in BS Physics. The Institute of Physics has excellent infrastructure and laboratories which provide support to the students in teaching as well as in research. He said that sports, medical, hostels, clubs and students' society are working in the campus, which creates self-confidence in the students. In relation to MPhil admissions, he said that the interview schedule for MPhil admissions has been released for students who had applied before August 8, their interviews are ongoing and the last date to apply is August 30. The interview schedule for those students who have applied later will be released after 30th August. He further said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has provided a wonderful opportunity for its alumni such students who have completed BS degree are being given 25% fee reduction for MPhil admission. In response to the question regarding the scholarship, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa said that Jamia Islamia is the largest university in Pakistan in terms of scholarship, where most scholarships are provided. Our students are studying in China, Europe, USA and other countries through scholarships.
