Right to Information Awareness Seminar was organized by Punjab Information Commission in collaboration with the Islamia University of Bahawalpur at Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall Abbaisa Campus. Raja Jahangir Anwar Commissioner Bahawalpur Division was Chief Guest while Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan District and Sessions Judge Bahawalpur and Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob were the guests of honour. Chief Information Commissioner Mehboob Qadir Shah delivered a detailed talk on Right to Information Act on the invitation of Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. This program is part of the regular lecture series held at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to educate civil society, teachers and students about human rights and rule of law. Chief Information Commissioner Mehboob Qadir Shah while speaking on the topic of Right to Information is inevitable for good governance said that in a prosperous and ideal state citizens have full access to information and Punjab Information Commission is working diligently for this purpose. Access to information is a fundamental right of citizens to provide them with guidance on government institutions and their decisions, especially on the use of funds. Its aim is to establish a system based on transparency. Its second objective is to bring the performance of these institutions before the public eye by providing access to information. On this occasion, Commissioner Bahawalur Raja Jahangir Anwar said that under the leadership of Chief Information Commissioner Mehboob Qadir Shah, Punjab Information Commission is playing the role of a bridge between common people and public sector organizations, which is a welcome development. Seminar organized by Punjab Information Commission in Bahawalpur is a great step for teachers and students. District and Sessions Judge Bahawalpur Raja Ghazanfar Ali Khan said that they are working to digitalize the judicial system. This process is also a part of the central idea of public access to government institutions and transparency, rule of law and Justice can be provided. Vice-Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that as a higher education institution, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has played an important role in the access, provision and transmission of information. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur came into existence in 1925 under the vision of Nawab of Bahawalpur. Currently, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has become the largest university in the country in terms of the number of students in which the number of male and female students has reached 65 thousand. The Public Information Office in the University is cooperating with the Punjab Information Commission to provide information rapidly and the arrival of Chief Information Commissioner Mehboob Qadir Shah at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is encouraging for us. A large number of senior government officials, lawyers, deans, faculty members, officers and students participated in the seminar.

پنجاب انفارمیشن کمیشن کے زیر اہتمام اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے اشتراک سے رائٹ ٹو انفارمیشن آگاہی سیمینار غلام محمد گھوٹوی منعقد ہوا۔ مہمان خصوصی راجہ جہانگیر انور کمشنر بہاول پور ڈویژن جبکہ راجہ غضنفر علی خان ڈسٹرکٹ اینڈ سیشن جج بہاول پور اور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب مہمان اعزاز تھے۔ چیف انفارمیشن کمشنر محبوب قادر شاہ نے وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی دعوت پر رائٹ ٹو انفارمیشن ایکٹ سے متعلق تفصیلی لیکچر دیا۔ یہ پروگرام اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں باقاعدگی منعقدہونے والے لیکچر سیریز کا حصہ ہے تاکہ سول سوسائٹی، اساتذہ اور طلباء وطالبات کو انسانی حقوق اور قانون کی بالادستی سے متعلق آگاہ کیا جا سکے۔ چیف انفارمیشن کمشنر محبوب قادر شاہ نے گڈ گورننس کے لیے رائٹ ٹو انفارمیشن ناگزیرہے کے موضوع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ایک رفاہی اور مثالی ریاست میں شہریوں کو معلومات تک مکمل رسائی بہت ضروری ہے اور پنجاب انفارمیشن کمیشن اس مقصد کے لیے بڑی تندہی سے کام کر رہا ہے۔ معلومات تک رسائی شہریوں کا بنیادی حق ہے تاکہ انہیں سرکاری اداروں اور ان کے فیصلوں خصوصا فنڈز کے استعمال سے متعلق رہنمائی فراہم کی جا سکے۔ اس کا مقصد شفافیت پر مبنی نظام قائم کرنا ہے۔ اس کا دوسرا مقصد انفارمیشن تک رسائی فراہم کرتے ہوئے ان اداروں کی کارکردگی کو عوام کی نگاہ کے سامنے لانا ہے۔ اس موقع پر کمشنر بہاول پورراجہ جہانگیر انور نے کہا کہ پنجاب انفارمیشن کمیشن کے چیف انفارمیشن کمشنر محبوب قادر شاہ کی سربراہی میں عام لوگوں کو طاقتور بنانے کے ساتھ ساتھ عام لوگوں اور پبلک سیکٹر اداروں کے درمیان پل کا کردار ادا کررہا ہے جو خوش آئند امر ہے۔ بہاول پور میں پنجاب انفارمیشن کمیشن کی طرف سے سیمینار کا انعقاد اساتذہ اور طلباء وطالبات کے لیے خوش آئند ہے۔ ڈسٹرکٹ اینڈ سیشن جج بہاول پور راجہ غضنفر علی خان نے کہا کہ وہ عدالتی نظام کو ڈیجیٹلائز کرنے کے لیے کام کر رہے ہیں۔ یہ عمل بھی اس مرکزی خیال کا حصہ ہے کہ عوام کوسرکاری اداروں تک رسائی ہو سکے اور شفافیت، قانون کی بالادستی اور انصاف فراہم ہو سکے۔ وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا کہ بطور اعلیٰ تعلیمی ادارہ معلومات کی رسائی، فراہمی اور ترسیل  میں اہم کردار رہی ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور 1925 میں نوابین بہاول پور کے وژن کے تحت معروض وجود میں آئی۔ اس وقت اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور طلباء وطالبات کی تعدا د کے لحاظ سے ملک کی بڑی یونیورسٹی بن چکی ہے جس میں طلباء وطالبات کی تعداد 65 ہزار ہو چکی ہے۔ یونیورسٹی میں موجود پبلک انفارمیشن آفس بڑی تیزی سے انفارمیشن کی فراہمی کے لیے پنجاب انفارمیشن کمیشن سے تعاون کر رہا ہے اورچیف انفارمیشن کمشنر محبوب قادر شاہ کی اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور آمد ہمارے لیے حوصلہ افزا ہے۔ سیمینار میں اعلیٰ سرکاری حکام، وکلاء، ڈینز، فیکلٹی ممبران، افسران اور طلباء وطالبات کی کثیر تعداد نے شرکت کی۔
