Signing of MoU between IUB and Takmil Foundation at Vice Chancellor Secretariat Baghdad ul-Jadeed campus

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Center Sustainable Development Goals Collaboration Center, Fatima Jinnah Women's Leadership Center, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the TAKMIL Foundation, established to support the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, held in the Vice Chancellor Secretariat Baghdad ul-Jadeed campus. The purpose of signing this MoU is to promote mutual cooperation for providing free quality education to the out-of-school children in the backward rural areas of Pakistan, especially in the South Punjab region. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur said that there is no single solution to the problem of out-of-school children in Pakistan. A multi-pronged approach is needed that addresses the root causes of the problem and supports the efforts of both the government and civil society. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences said that in the world of out-of-school children in Pakistan. The second highest number is 22.8 million children between the ages of 5 and 16 who do not attend school, which is 44 percent of the total population. Five million children in the age group 5 to 9 years are not enrolled in schools and the number of children out of school doubles after primary school age, with 11.4 million young people aged 10 to 14 in formal education can't get education. Pakistan is facing a serious challenge to ensure school attendance, stay and learning in the most disadvantaged. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Prof. Dr. Salman bin Naeem, Prof. Dr. Samar Fahad, Dr. Abid Rashid Gill, Dr. Abid Shahzad, Dr. Farooq Ahmed, Dr. Maryyam Soharwardi, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad, Dr. Mah-e-Bushra Asghar and others participants were also present.

بہاول پور (پ ر) اقوام متحدہ کے پائیدار ترقی کے اہداف کے حصول میں تعاون کے لیے قائم کیے گئے مرکز سسٹین ایبل ڈویلپمنٹ گولز کولیبریشن سینٹر، فاطمہ جناح ویمن لیڈرشپ سینٹر، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور اور تکمیل فاؤنڈیشن کے مابین مفاہمتی یادداشت پر دستخط کی تقریب وائس چانسلر سیکریٹریٹ بغداد الجدید کیمپس میں منعقد ہوئی۔ اس یاداشت پر دستخط کا مقصد پاکستان کے پسماندہ طبقات دیہی علاقوں بالخصوص جنوبی پنجاب کے علاقے میں اسکول سے باہر بچوں کو مفت معیاری تعلیم کی فراہمی کے لیے باہمی اشتراک عمل کو فروغ دینا ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور نے کہا کہ پاکستان میں اسکولوں سے باہر بچوں کے مسئلے کا کوئی واحد حل نہیں ہے۔ ایک کثیر جہتی نقطہ نظر کی ضرورت ہے جو مسئلے کی بنیادی وجوہات کو حل کرے اور حکومت اور سول سوسائٹی دونوں کی کوششوں کی حمایت کرے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر روبینہ بھٹی، ڈین فیکلٹی آف سوشل سائنسز نے کہا کہ پاکستان میں سکول نہ جانے والے بچوں کی دنیا میں دوسری سب سے زیادہ تعداد ہے جہاں 5 سے 16 سال کی عمر کے 22.8 ملین بچے سکول نہیں جاتے، جو کل آبادی کا 44 فیصد ہیں۔ اس عمر کے گروپ میں 5 تا 9 سال کی عمر کے گروپ میں 50 لاکھ بچے اسکولوں میں داخل نہیں ہیں اور پرائمری اسکول کی عمر کے بعد اسکول سے باہر بچوں کی تعداد دوگنی ہوجاتی ہے، 10 تا 14 سال کی عمر کے 11.4 ملین نوجوان رسمی تعلیم حاصل نہیں کر پاتے۔ پاکستان کو سب سے زیادہ پسماندہ اسکول میں حاضری، قیام اور سیکھنے کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے ایک سنگین چیلنج کا سامنا ہے۔ اس موقع پر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سلمان بن نعیم، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ثمر فہد، ڈاکٹر عابد رشید گِل، ڈاکٹر عابد حسین شہزاد، ڈاکٹر فاروق احمد، ڈاکٹر مریم سہروردی، ڈاکٹر محمد علی، خورشید احمد، ڈاکٹر ماہ بشریٰ اصغر اور دیگر شرکاء بھی موجود تھے۔
