The dialogue was organized by the Department of World Religions and Interfaith Harmony in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has a special importance in the country because of its academic and research work. Under the direction of Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, the Department of World Religions and Interfaith Harmony is trying to make the society a cradle of peace and harmony. Dr. Sajeela Kausar, Chairperson the Department of World Religions and Interfaith Harmony and her team has organized an interfaith dialogue. On this occasion, along with prominent Muslim scholars and professors of universities and colleges of South Punjab, Christian and Hindu religious leaders and scholars of the region also participated. In this regard, the members of the National Peace Committee and scholars of various fields have also been made part of the board. The purpose of the dialogue was to review the role of religion in peace and interfaith harmony. Interfaith dialogue, problems faced by minorities and majorities in Pakistan, peace promotion and study of religions pave the way for the world. This dialogue will have a historical status for South Punjab. On this occasion, the need and importance of inter-faith dialogue for peace, the problems faced by the minorities and majorities of Pakistan and their solution, the role of religious communities in maintaining peace and the importance of studying religions for peace were discussed in detail.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں شعبہ ادیان عالم و بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی کی طرف سے مکالمہ کا انعقادکیا گیا۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کو وطن عزیز میں اپنے علمی و تحقیقی کار ہائے نمایاں کی وجہ سے خصوصی اہمیت حاصل ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر، وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی ہدایت پر شعبہ ادیان عالم وبین المذاہب ہم آہنگی معاشرے کو امن و آشتی کا گہوارہ بنانے کے لیے کوشاں ہے۔ اسی سلسلے میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شیخ شفیق الرحمن، ڈین فیکلٹی آف اسلامک اینڈ عریبک اسٹڈیز کی ہدایات پر عمل کرتے ہوئے ڈاکٹر سجیلہ کوثر، چئیر پرسن شعبہ ادیان عالم وبین المذاہب ہم آہنگی اور ان کی ٹیم نے ایک بین المذاہب مکالمے کا اہتمام کیا ہے۔ اس موقع پر جنوبی پنجاب کے جید مسلم اسکالرز اور یونیورسٹیز و کالجز کے پروفیسروں کے ساتھ ساتھ علاقہ کے باثر مسیحی و ہندو مذہبی پیشوا اور اسکالرز بھی شریک ہوئے۔ اس سلسلے میں قومی امن کمیٹی کے ممبران اور مختلف مسالک کے علما کو بھی بورڈ کا حصہ بنایا گیا ہے۔ مکالمے کا مقصد قیام امن و بین المذاہب ہم آہنگی میں مذہب کے کرادر کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ بین المذاہب مکالمے، پاکستان میں اقلیتوں اور اکثریتوں کو درپیش مسائل، فروغ امن اور مطالعہ مذاہب عالم کی راہ ہموار کرتے ہیں۔ جنوبی پنجاب کے لیے یہ مکالمہ ایک تاریخی حیثیت کا حامل ہو گا۔ اس موقع پر امن کے لیے بین المذاہب مکالمے کی ضرورت و اہمیت، پاکستان کی اقلیتوں اور اکثریتوں کو درپیش مسائل اور ان کا حل، قیام امن میں مذہبی برادریوں کا کرداراور امن کے لیے مذاہب عالم کے مطالعے کی اہمیت جیسے موضوعات پر تفصیلی گفت و شنید کی گئی۔
