The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has sent the first relief supplies to the flood affected areas of South Punjab

Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that teachers and students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur are working day and night to provide relief and rehabilitation in flood-affected areas. The Vice Chancellor expressed these views while addressing a press conference on the ongoing flood relief campaign of the university at the Abbasia campus today. He said that flood relief campaign was started in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on the instructions of Governor of the Punjab and Chancellor Engr. Baligh-ur-Rahman and relief activities have started from Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan campuses. Today IUB Senior Tutor Office and Performing Art Society, Directorate of Students Affairs in collaboration with Lucky Snacks are sending relief supplies to the flood affected areas of Jampur city of the district Rajhanpur, Punjab, Pakistan. The supplies include rations pack for 500 families, 50 tents, 20 gas stoves and 1,000 bottles of water. He said that the teachers and students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur will distribute these relief materials to the affected areas. Apart from this, the focal person of the university's flood relief campaign, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha Chairman Department of Social Work has organized flood relief camps in various campuses in which students and female philanthropists have also submitted relief materials and donations. He said that our faculty member arranged shoes for 400 people in the affected areas of Dera Ghazi Khan as their belongings were swept away in the flash floods. Chairman Department of Plant Pathology Prof. Dr. Naveed Aslam Mulghani is coordinating relief activities in Dera Ghazi Khan. The Vice Chancellor said that the University College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences will soon provide vaccines and medicines for cattle. A medical team will also be posted to the flooded areas under the leadership of Dr. Usman Cheema Chief Medical Officer. On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Computing Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hussain Tahir, Registrar Prof. Dr. Moazzam Jamil, Senior Tutor and Chairman Department of Media and Communication Studies Prof. Dr. Abdul Wajid Khan, Prof. Dr. Raheela Khalid, Chairperson Department of Arabic, Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman Department of Social Work and Focal Person, Chaudhry Uzair Ahmed, Lucky Snacks, Dr. Ahmed Mufti Director Best Skills, Dr. Jam Sajjad Hussain, Assistant Professor, Syndicate Member Suamaira Malik, Shahzad Ahmed Khalid Director Press, Media and Publications, Dr. Shanayyra Mahmood, Assistant Professor and Chief Public Relations Officer and Fatima Muzahir, Deputy Registrar Public Affairs, Agha Sadaf Mehdi, Producer Campus Radio, Advisor, Co-Advisors and Office Bearers of IUB Performing Arts Society were present.

وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا ہے کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے اساتذہ اور طلباء وطالبات سیلاب زدہ علاقوں میں امداد کی فراہمی اور بحالی کے لیے دن رات مصروف عمل ہیں۔ وائس چانسلر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار آج عباسیہ کیمپس میں یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے جاری فلڈ ریلیف مہم سے متعلق ایک پریس کانفرنس سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ گورنر پنجاب و چانسلر انجینئر بلیغ الرحمن کی ہدایت پر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور میں فلڈ ریلیف مہم کا آغاز کیا گیا اور بہاول پور اور رحیم یار خان کیمپسز سے امدادی سرگرمیوں کا آغاز ہو گیا ہے۔ آج سینئر ٹیوٹر آفس اور پرفارمنگ آرٹ سوسائٹی کی جانب سے لکی اسنیکس کے تعاون سے جام پور کے سیلاب زدہ علاقوں کے لیے امدادی سامان روانہ کیا جا رہا ہے۔ اس سامان میں 500 خاندانوں کے لیے راشن، 50 خیمے، 20 گیس والے چولہے اور 1000 پانی کی بوتلیں شامل ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے اساتذہ اور طلباء وطالبات یہ امدادی سامان خود متاثرہ علاقوں میں تقسیم کریں گے۔ اس کے علاوہ یونیورسٹی کی فلڈ ریلیف مہم کے فوکل پرسن پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا نے مختلف کیمپسز میں فلڈ ریلیف کیمپ منعقد کیے ہیں جس میں طلباء وطالبات کے ساتھ ساتھ شہرکے مخیر حضرات نے بھی امدادی سامان اور عطیات جمع کرائے ہیں۔ انہو ں نے بتایا کہ ہمارے فیکلٹی ممبر نے ڈیرہ غازی خان کے متاثرہ علاقوں میں 400 افراد کے لیے جوتوں کا انتظام کیا کیونکہ ان لوگوں کا مال و متاع اچانک سیلاب میں بہہ گیا تھا۔ فیکلٹی ممبر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اسلم ملغانی ڈیرہ غازی خان میں امدادی سرگرمیوں کے لیے کورڈنیشن کر رہے ہیں۔ وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ یونیورسٹی کالج آف ویٹرنری اینڈ اینیمل سائنسز جلد ہی مویشوں کے لیے ویکسین اورادویات فراہم کرے گا۔ ڈاکٹر عثمان چیمہ چیف میڈیکل آفیسر کی قیادت میں سیلابی علاقوں میں میڈیکل ٹیم بھی روانہ کی جائے گی۔ اس موقع پر ڈین فیکلٹی آف کمپیوٹنگ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد حسین طاہر، رجسٹرار پروفیسر ڈاکٹر معظم جمیل، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر راحیلہ خالد، چیئرپرسن شعبہ عربی، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عبدالواجد خان سینئر ٹیوٹر، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف نوید رانجھا فوکل پرسن، چوہدری عزیراحمد لکی اسنیکس، ڈاکٹر احمد مفتی ڈائریکٹر بیسٹ سکلز، ڈاکٹر جام سجاد حسین اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر، سینڈیکیٹ ممبر سمیرا ملک، شہزاد احمد خالد ڈائریکٹر پریس میڈیا اینڈ پبلیکیشنز، ڈاکٹر شنیہرہ محمود، چیف پبلک ریلیشنز آفیسراور فاطمہ مظاہر ڈپٹی رجسٹرار پبلک افیئرزموجود تھے۔
