The Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized a seminar on the topic of 'How to protect yourself from financial scams?

With the advent in technology, where the traditional financial sector has completely revolutionized, the incidence of fraud and fraudulent transactions has also increased. The Institute of Business, Management and Administrative Sciences in collaboration with Executive Training Centre conducted a seminar on 'How to protect yourself from financial scams?'. The talk was delivered by Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Cheema, senior faculty member in Finance from University of Otago, New Zealand. The session was chaired by Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob and attended by dignitaries from Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by President BCCI Chaudhary Zulfiqar Ali Maan, State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan Audit Department, Bank Al Baraka, Askari Commercial Bank, Habib Bank Limited, NRSP Microfinance Bank, Meezan Bank ltd. and various faculty members and students of departments of Faculty of Management Science and Commerce. In his closing remarks, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the importance of Financial Literacy and appreciated the initiate taken by Dr. Areba Khan Chairperson, Department of Islamic and Conventional Banking in arranging such a dialogue.

ٹیکنالوجی کی آمد سے جہاں روایتی مالیاتی شعبے میں مکمل انقلاب آیا ہے وہیں فراڈ اور فراڈ کے لین دین کے واقعات میں بھی اضافہ ہوا ہے۔ انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف بزنس، مینجمنٹ اینڈ ایڈمنسٹریٹو سائنسز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور نے ایگزیکٹو ٹریننگ سینٹر کے تعاون سے مالی گھپلوں سے اپنے آپ کو کیسے بچایا جائے کے موضوع پر ایک سیمینار کا انعقاد کیا۔ اوٹاگو یونیورسٹی، نیوزی لینڈ کے ڈاکٹر محمد احمد چیمہ نے خصوصی لیکچر دیا۔ سیشن کی صدارت وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کی۔ وائس چانسلرکی قیادت میں ہونے والے اجلاس میں صدر بہاولپور چیمبر آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری چوہدری ذوالفقار علی مان، اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان، پاکستان آڈٹ ڈیپارٹمنٹ، بینک البرکہ، عسکری کمرشل بینک، حبیب بینک لمیٹڈ، این آر ایس پی مائیکرو فنانس بینک، میزان بینک لمیٹڈ کے عہدیدران اور فیکلٹی آف مینجمنٹ اینڈ کامرس کے مختلف شعبہ جات کے سربراہان نے شرکت کی۔ اپنے اختتامی کلمات میں وائس چانسلر نے مالیاتی خواندگی کی اہمیت پر روشنی ڈالی اور اس طرح کے مکالمے کو ترتیب دینے میں اسلامی اور روایتی بینکاری کے شعبہ کی طرف سے اٹھائے گئے اقدام کو سراہا۔
