The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Directorate of Community Broadcast Radio, TV & Film and Department of Law, Faculty of Law organized one day informative seminar on Media Laws and Ethics, in this seminar the Senior Judges of Lahore High Court Bahawalpur Bench were special guests.

The Law Department and the Directorate of Community Broadcast Radio, TV & Film jointly organized a one-day seminar at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on the ethics of the Law Department and the Department of Mass Communication Law in Pakistan. Senior Judges Mr. Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem, Mr. Justice Jawad Hassan, Mr. Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pinnu and District and Sessions Judge Amir Mohammad Khan guided the students and teachers in the field of Journalism Laws. The ceremony was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Muhammad Shehzad Rana, the purpose of the seminar was to educate the students of Media Studies and Law about the Laws of Media Laws and Ethics, so that the young generation can fulfill their duties in practical life by knowing the rules and regulations. Prof. Dr. Rao Imran Habib, Chairman, Department of Law, IUB, in his introductory address highlighted the aims, objectives and importance of the seminar. Senior Judge Lahore High Court Bahawalpur Bench Bahawalpur Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem stressed on the need for students to develop reading habits and communication skills. His Excellency Justice Jawad Hassan, who is an authority on Media and the Mass Communication Laws in Pakistan, said that familiarity with the laws of his department helps us in carrying out our professional duties. Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pinnu and District and Sessions Judge Amir Mohammad Khan delivered keynote address on the occasion. Ali Hassan Rizvi, Lecturer in the Department of Media Studies, spoke on the implementation of journalistic laws. Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Pro Vice Chancellor, thanked the distinguished guests and said that the arrival of senior judges in the university and sharing of experiences has in fact led to an increase in the knowledge of students and faculty. He thanked the distinguished guests on behalf of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob and welcomed the liaison between the judiciary and educational institutions. The seminar was attended by Mr. Shahid Hussain Additional Registrar, Dr. Muhammad Mumtaz Civil Judge and Research Officer High Court Bahawalpur Bench, faculty members of Department of Law and Media Studies and a large number of students. Dr. Ismat Durrani, Advisor IUB Literary Society and Chairperson Department of Persian and Dr. Asif Nadeem, Assistant Professor, Department of Education moderated the seminar. At the end, commemorative shields were distributed among the participants and distinguished guests.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاول پور میں شعبہ قانون اور ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف کمیونٹی براڈکاسٹ ریڈیو، ٹی وی اینڈ فلم کے باہم اشتراک سے میڈیا لاز، اور پاکستان میں ابلاغ عامہ شعبہ قانون کے ایتھکس پر منعقد ہونے والے ایک روزہ سیمینار میں لاہور ہائی کورٹ بہاول پور بنچ کے سینئر ججز مسٹر جسٹس سردار احمد نعیم، مسٹر جسٹس جواد حسن، مسٹر جسٹس انوار الحق پنوں اور ڈسٹرکٹ اینڈ سیشن جج امیر محمد خان نے طلباء و اساتذہ کی صحافتی قوانین کی مد میں راہنمائی کی، سیمینار کا استقبالیہ ڈائریکٹر کمیونٹی براڈکاسٹ ریڈیو، ٹی وی اینڈ فلم پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد شہزاد رانا نے پیش کیا، سیمینار کا مقصد میڈیا اسٹڈیز اور لاء کے طلباء و طالبات کو میڈیا لاز اینڈ ایتھکس کے قوانین کے بارے میں آگاہی فراہم کرنا تھا، تاکہ عملی زندگی میں نوجوان نسل قواعد و ضوابط کو جانتے ہوئے اپنے فرائض سر انجام دے سکیں۔شعبہ قانون آئی یو بی کے چیئرمین پروفیسر ڈاکٹر راؤ عمران حبیب نے اپنے تعارفی خطبہ میں سیمینار کے اغراض ومقاصد اور اہمیت پہ روشنی ڈالی۔ سینئر جج لاہور ہائی کورٹ بہاول پور بنچ بہاول پور جسٹس سردار احمد نعیم نے طلبہ کو مطالعہ کی عادت اور ابلاغی مہارتوں کی صلاحیت کو بڑھانے کی ضرورت پہ زور دیا۔ عزت مآب جسٹس جواد حسن جو کہ میڈیا اینڈ دی ماس کمیونیکیشن لاز ان پاکستان پہ ایک اتھارٹی ہیں، نے کہا کہ ہمیں اپنے شعبہ کے قوانین سے واقفیت پیشہ وارانہ امور کی انجام دہی میں مدد فراہم کرتی ہے۔ جسٹس انوار الحق پنوں اور ڈسٹرکٹ اینڈ سیشنز جج امیر محمد خان نے موضوع کی مناسبت سے کلیدی خطبہ دیا۔ شعبہ میڈیا سٹڈیز کے لیکچرار علی حسن رضوی نے صحافتی قوانین کی عملداری پہ بات کی۔ پرو وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے معزز مہمانوں کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ سینئر ججز کی یونی ورسٹی میں آمد اور تجربات کی شیئرنگ دراصل سٹوڈنٹس اور فیکلٹی کے علم میں اضافے کا باعث بنی ہے۔ انہوں نے وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی جانب سے آنے والے معزز مہمانوں کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور عدلیہ اور تعلیمی اداروں کے مابین تعلقات کو خوش آئند قرار دیا۔ سیمینار میں مسٹر شاہد حسین ایڈیشنل رجسٹرار، ڈاکٹر محمد ممتاز سول جج اور ریسرچ آفیسر ہائی کورٹ بہاول پور بنچ، ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف لاء اور میڈیا سٹڈیز کے فیکلٹی ممبران اور کثیر تعداد میں طلبہ و طالبات نے شرکت کی جبکہ نظامت کے فرائض ایڈوائزر آئی یو بی لٹریری سوسائٹی اور شعبہ فارسی کی چیئرپرسن ڈاکٹر عصمت درانی اور ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف ایجوکیشن کے اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف ندیم نے اداکیے۔ آخر میں شرکاء اور معزز مہمانوں میں یادگاری شیلڈز تقسیم کی گئیں۔
