The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has become the first university in the country to hold regular Arabic language classes for understanding the Quran. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar had directed all the universities to ensure the teaching, translation and understanding of the Quran. Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that for this purpose the students should be motivated so that they can learn and follow the Quranic teachings with understanding and prudence. Three credit hours courses are being introduced in all the faculties for teaching Quran comprehension and Arabic language. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Character Education Foundation and Islamia University Bahawalpur to implement the project. In a ceremony held on the occasion, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Javed Iqbal, President Character Education Foundation Islamabad signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Chairman Character Education Foundation Islamabad Mahmood Ahmed delivered a special address online. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiqul Rehman, Dean Faculty of Islamic Learning and Chairman Department of Translation Studies, Prof. Dr. Saleem Tariq Khan, Former Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Prof. Dr. Shams ul Basir, Former Chairman Department of Islamic Studies the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Deans and senior teachers were present. Under the agreement, the two institutes will train university teachers for Quran and ethics education and community education at the university. The two institutes will promote research activities and formulate joint projects for the dissemination of Quranic teachings. Special curriculum, teaching aids, audio and video lectures will be provided for Quran comprehension and 3 credit hours course will be introduced in all faculties in the first semester. Special encouragement will be given to teachers and students who have volunteered for this purpose. Special guides and training materials will be developed to increase the number of teachers. Examination procedures will also be devised to establish teaching and research standards. The participants congratulated the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob on the regular launch of Quran comprehension and Arabic language classes by Islamia University Bahawalpur and its inclusion as a credit hour course.

اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ملک کی پہلی جامعہ بن گئی ہے جہاں پر قرآن فہمی کے لیے عربی زبان کی باقاعدہ کلاسز منعقد کی جائیں گی۔ گورنر پنجاب و چانسلر چوہدری محمد سرور کی جانب سے تمام جامعات کو احکامات دیئے گئے تھے کہ قرآن کی تعلیم، ترجمہ اور قرآن فہمی کا احتما م کیا جائے۔ وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہاہے کہ اس مقصد کے لیے طلباء میں جذبہ بیدار کیا جائے تاکہ وہ فہم اور تدبر کے ساتھ قرآنی تعلیمات سیکھیں اور ان پر عمل کریں۔ تمام فیکلٹیوں میں تفہیم قرآن اور عربی زبان کی تعلیم کے لیے تین کریڈٹ آورز کاکورس متعارف کرایا جا رہا ہے۔ اس منصوبے کو عملی شکل دینے کے لیے کریکٹر ایجوکیشن فاؤنڈیشن اور اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے درمیان مفاہمتی یاداشت پر دستخط ہوئے۔ اس موقع پر منعقد ہونے والی تقریب میں انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اور ڈاکٹر جاوید اقبال صدر کریکٹر ایجوکیشن فاؤنڈیشن اسلام آبادنے مفاہمتی یاداشت پر دستخط کیے۔ چیئرمین کریکٹر ایجوکیشن فاؤنڈیشن اسلام آباد محمود احمد نے بذریعہ آن لائن خصوصی خطاب کیا۔ تقریب میں پرو وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹرنویداختر، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شیخ شفیق الرحمان، ڈین فیکلٹی آف اسلامک لرننگ و چیئر مین شعبہ ٹرانسلیشن سٹڈیز، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سلیم طارق خان، سابق وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شمس البصر، سابق چیئر مین شعبہ اسلامیات، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپو رڈینز و سینئر اساتذہ موجود تھے۔ معاہدے کی رو سے دونوں ادارے یونیورسٹی میں قرآن اور اخلاقیات کی تعلیم اور کمیونٹی ایجوکیشن کے لیے یونیورسٹی کے اساتذہ کی تربیت کریں گے۔دونوں ادارے قرآنی تعلیمات کی نشرو اشاعت کے لیے تحقیقی سرگرمیوں کو فروغ دیں گے اور مشترکہ منصوبے تشکیل دیں گے۔ قرآن فہمی کے لیے خصوصی نصاب،تدریسی ذرائع، آڈیو ویڈیو لیکچرکی سہولیات فراہم کی جائیں گی اور تمام فیکلٹیوں میں پہلے سمسٹر میں 3کریڈٹ آورکا کورس متعارف کرایا جائے گا۔ اس مقصد کے لیے رضاکارانہ تربیت حاصل کرنے والے اساتذہ اور طلباء وطالبات کی خصوصی حوصلہ افزائی کی جائے گی۔ اساتذہ کی استعداکار میں اضافے کے لیے خصوصی گائیڈز اور تربیتی مواد تیار کیا جائے گا۔ تدریسی اور تحقیقی معیار کو قائم کرنے کے لیے امتحانات کا طریقہ کار بھی وضع کیا جائے گا۔ شرکاء نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی جانب سے قرآن فہمی اور عربی زبان کی کلاسز کے باقاعدہ اجراء اور بطور کریڈٹ آور کورس شامل کرنے پر وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کو مبارکباد دی۔
