The Eco Food Party held at IUB

Green Campus Project IUB, IUB Green Youth Movement (GYM), Department of Economics, and University College of Arts and Design have organized the Eco Food Party. This initiative is a part of the activities to create awareness about environment-friendly activities on campus. The party was conducted with the motivation to demonstrate social gatherings that can be arranged without using disposable items. A most important feature of this food party was the generation of zero trash despite participation by a large number of the students. Each aspect of the party like decorations, sitting arrangements, food items, and services was designed to be eco-friendly. Food items were served to keep in view the nutrition and hygienic standards so there were no junk food items available at the party. Use of dishwasher, safe plates, cups, utensils, and cloth rather than paper napkins helped avoid the trash that parties usually produce. A large number of students and faculty from all departments of IUB attended this party and appreciated the idea. This framework can be adapted for any kind of party like get together, birthdays, by planning similarly. Students and other participants showed great interest and vowed to practice and propagate this idea for planning future parties.

گرین کیمپس پروجیکٹ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور گرین یوتھ موومنٹ شعبہ معاشیات،یونیورسٹی کالج آف آرٹ اینڈ ڈیزائن کے زیر اہتمام ایکوفوڈ پارٹی کا اہتمام کیا گیا۔ وائس چانسلر انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب کی ہدایت پر یونیورسٹی کیمپسز کو ماحول دوست اور دیرپا بنانے کے لیے گرین کیمپس پروجیکٹ کا آغازکیا گیا اور یہ سرگرمی بھی اسی منصوبے کا حصہ ہے۔  تاکہ کیمپس میں ماحول دوست سرگرمیوں کو فروغ دیا جائے۔ اس سماجی سرگرمی کا بنیادی مقصد اجتماعات میں خوراک کے ضیاع کو بچاتے ہوئے ڈسپوزیبل اشیاء کا کم سے کم استعمال کرنا تھا۔ اس سرگرمی کا مقصد کوڑا کرکٹ کو نہ ہونے کی حد تک کم کرنا تھا۔ اس موقع پر استعمال ہونے والی سجاوٹی اشیاء، فرنیچر، اشیاء خوردونوش ماحول دوست تھیں۔ ڈاکٹر عابد گل ڈائریکٹر گرین کیمپس پروجیکٹ نے کہا کہ اس سرگرمی سے اساتذہ اور طلبا نے سیکھا کہ سماجی اجتماعات اور کھانے پینے کی سرگرمیاں بغیر آلودگی پھیلائے ماحول دوست انداز میں ممکن ہیں۔
